You, my friend, haven't been keeping up with cartoons (Cartoon Networ/Adult Swim and Disney XD) cause they've been on fire since 2010! But yes, sitcoms (most shows people actually watch, for better or for worse) have tanked. We need another Seinfeld and/or Friends.
I had all of those toys from The Simpsons! I miss the old layout of Burger King; walking into the ball pit (my Grandpa used to try and scare me that snakes can get in there and I stayed the hell out! haha). Also, I had those wrestling buddies (Hulk Hogan and The Ultimate Warrior).
I completely forgot that ABC had those bumpers that were 'inspired by' New Kids on the Block. Granted I would have been 6 at most the last time they used them live.
1:37 That commercial scared me when i was a kid! Seeing it again brought back so many memories. Maybe it served its purpose, cause i never did do any to this day!
So how did the kid in the wheelchair get up to the treehouse in the Burger King commercial? Pulley system? I also like how he was literally called 'Wheels'.
DAYUM. I was 4 at the time these aired. I am reminiscing hard af. I don't remember a lot at the age of four but I'm remembering all of these commercials. I may have been one of those t.v. babies just as nowadays we have tablet babies. O.o
forgot NKOTB had their own animated show, kind of weird not having them do the voices of their animated personas.. Tastybake ovens..surprised that Food Network hasnt capitalized on these, would love to see one in use on Cutthroat Kitchen lol
6:30 "Ok...Sally? I thought I asked you last week to leave your ballerina doll at home. Do 10 of whatever punishment we give to girls who disobey in ballet class"
it's hard to believe it has been 26 years. those kids in the after these messages we will be right back commercial are likely 32-36 i would think.. wrap your mind around that if you can
The small, Caucasian boy in the ABC bumpers was in The Mighty Ducks (first one). He played Peter. He was also in an episode of Full House (season 6) titled "Silence Is Not Golden" playing Charles--a boy in Stephanie's class who was being abused by his father. And yes, I know it's sad that I remembered all of that LOL!
I loved my Tastybake Oven, but it required a weird type of light bulb that had me and my grandmother going across half the city before we found the right one.
I think Wendell killed the others in order to keep his cinnamon toast recipe a secret.Shhhh they are NOT put into the cinnamon toast crunch(*wink* *wink*)
2:07 I've always wondered why in the commercial that a boy's choir had to do with The Simpsons of all things. Oh, and I just noticed that they were in a bowling alley in this commercial. Cuz' Homer likes Bowling??
The choir is *somewhat* reminiscent of the opening theme. I'm guessing they had the rights to use the characters from the show but nothing else...which explains why no Simpsons theme music or character voices.
+jason3fc The mini muffins were a brand new breakfast item and they also changed their french fry recipe that year too. The Simpsons was the most popular show on TV and it was an easy way to get people to try out these new products.
+pannoni4 The Simpsons was way more popular culturally in 1990 than those two shows, and if it had aired on a major network and not Fox in its infancy I'm sure the ratings would have reflected that. The Simpsons appealed to kids, teenagers and adults in those first years. Bart Simpson became a counterculture icon overnight. Official and bootleg shirts with his image were commonplace. Nobody was clamoring for Cheers or Roseanne merchandise.
Those new bumpers were okay for the 1990-91 feel. Nothing special but the the Claymation AFTERNOON TH ESE MESSAGES were the classics. I assume they wanted to update after 88-89 but I feel they should have never changed them at all.
It took me a minute to remember this piss-poor excuse for the classic ABC animated commercial bumpers, but I barely remember this "AM Posse", because I was too busy watching the far better Saturday morning lineup on CBS, they just got TMNT in '90! BUT, the commercials themselves, epic. So many guest stars in them!
I posted on one of your videos about two years ago commenting about the state of television now and how much it has fallen. Now I know these videos and this channel are for those who have grown up in this era, and it pains me to know just how god awful modern television is. I've considered pulling the plug on all of it, because even the local news has turned into a medium where it is not telling news, but more so telling gossip and cheap lies to get the point across. I don't know if you have 80s/90s Nick at Nite promos on here, but I remember seeing them back in the day thinking how creative they were. I recently tuned into TV Land and Nick at Nite and was completely saddened by how terrible they are. Commercials pop in during the show, they are butchered, and both seem to showcase a lack of caring.
Both History Channel and TLC were good, they offered good educational shows that were entertaining to a wide audience. Ever since the reality TV craze these channels feel the need to throw in random jackasses to overreact and scream at everything they do. History Channel is a disgrace.
Cartoon Network and Disney XD have really good cartoons! Adult Swim has some amazing stuff too! But the current state of sitcoms are the worst, on every channel. W need a sitcom revival with another Seinfeld level show to bring back smart sitcoms! Also Nick just sucks right now with the exception of Harvey Beaks and The Loud House.
I haven't had cable or watched broadcast TV at home in over a decade. I can't stand being at someone's house and watching TV, partly because of how the commercials just show up anywhere and so repetitively.
The Spot NES game is an okay game, but it was originally a differently titled C64 game, It also shown up as a game mode in a later game named ''The 7th Guest'' for DOS and other computer systems...
"Ay Caramba" and at the end "Don't have a cow man." both a phrase Bart used all the time in the 90's although I haven't watched it in years I don't know if he still uses it, I actually had the whole set of those dolls too when I was a kid.
Wait a minute they specifically call the Hawaiian Punch guy "that little dude in antlers". I always thought they were antlers, but more recently they changed it to a hat. Or was always a hat and the ad company was being cheeky by acknowledging the fact that his hat looked more like antlers which probably confused most people. When you really think about it though a straw hat is the only logical explanation for what's on his head.
1991... you JNOW this was old when the Burger King Kids Club has no Spanish kid, Wendell wasn't the ONLY Cinnamon Toast Crunch baker, the ABC posse was introing NEW KIDS!
New Kids on The Block were on after Beetlejuice? No thanks. I flip it over to the Piggsburg Pigs! Hey Micro Machines Man! Say, "Throw me that wheeskee" !
Yes, that was her :-) She was lucky she got to do that ad. Hush Little Baby was the only doll I had asked Santa for back then. I never received her, though. Seeing the commercial nowadays makes me still want her now :(
+Matthew J. Boone That tree is freaking tall, though! He must have an anti-gravity chair, or one kid's parents are pulling one too many health insurance scams.
I initially found it interesting how it seemed like 90% of the toy commercials were for girls dolls and baby items...Then I realized they were connected to the New Kids cartoon, which obviously was targeting the young girl demographic. Still, there sure were a lot of ballerina and peeing babies being marketed to girls in 1990...Too bad we never had a crossover. We could have had dancing babies and peeing ballerinas.
So much creativity back then.
I have been watching these videos for a long time but this one by far is the one that "triggered" me the most with nostalgia.
This brings back so many memories I remember these commercials 😮 wow 😂
Being a kid in the 90s was a blessing
who'da thought that t.v. would suck so bad today that we would watch these.
You, my friend, haven't been keeping up with cartoons (Cartoon Networ/Adult Swim and Disney XD) cause they've been on fire since 2010!
But yes, sitcoms (most shows people actually watch, for better or for worse) have tanked. We need another Seinfeld and/or Friends.
the 7UP Cool Spot was a really big deal in the 90's!
That Hershey's commercials I swear played through the whole 90s
I had a Tastybake Oven, and I still remember that commercial so clearly.
Truthfully, I'm half proud, half scared that I remember so many of these ads.
AFTER THESE MESSAGES WE’LL BE . . . RIGHT BACK
I completely forgot that ABC had those bumpers that were 'inspired by' New Kids on the Block. Granted I would have been 6 at most the last time they used them live.
These toys are WAY BETTER then today's toys
Where are the kids from all these commercials now? 1990 was like the last year of the '80s, while having that new decade newness about it.
They got Andre the giant to stomp on a seesaw like in the honeycomb commercial
I remember those bumpers! But just barely. I forgot all about them until now hahaha
We 90s kids are the best
best time,they still have jobs.
DAYUM. I was 4 at the time these aired.
I am reminiscing hard af.
I don't remember a lot at the age of four but I'm remembering all of these commercials.
I may have been one of those t.v. babies just as nowadays we have tablet babies. O.o
Seeing those two news hosts makes me feel old. This was my local ABC channel.
these are so great thank you!
“Hungry for a BIG honey taste!”
forgot NKOTB had their own animated show, kind of weird not having them do the voices of their animated personas..
Tastybake ovens..surprised that Food Network hasnt capitalized on these, would love to see one in use on Cutthroat Kitchen lol

Damn bro lol I wanted to believe those kids never grew up.
sorry man :/
Yeah, you're right. I was 8 years old back when all these commercials aired new.....That shit is depressing as hell.
It's weird when you realize all the kids in stuff like that, especially those several years younger than you were, are now over thirty years old.
Thora Birch is my age now. I was 8 back in 1990.
These aired Saturday, 10/20/90. "World of Discovery - Cougars: Ghosts of the Rockies" aired Sunday, 10/21/90 at 7:00 PM.
This video is a compilation of ads taken from multiple episodes of the NKOTB cartoon that aired that fall, not from a single air date.
The A.M. Posse has weak sauce
I loved my Tastybake Oven, but it required a weird type of light bulb that had me and my grandmother going across half the city before we found the right one.
How did cinnamon toast crunch go from three chefs to one? And who needs a chef to make toast?
The late 90s saw quite a few layoffs in the cinnamon toast industry once the bubble burst
16:30 the writing was on the wall when they started giving Wendell more air time.
I think Wendell killed the others in order to keep his cinnamon toast recipe a secret.Shhhh they are NOT put into the cinnamon toast crunch(*wink* *wink*)
So I'm assuming the following year they came out with a light-up pissing ballerina?
+Mike Troncin I even have a perfect name for a pissing ballerina toy - Uh Oh Twinkletoes.
+yusakug Tinkletoes
I used to have Quints!
They seem so fun
Elaine Roberts me too!!
I used to have those light up micro machines as well as many others. Micro Machines were my thing.
My big sister used to beat me with my own Wrestling Buddy :(
sue for trauma
@@aussakagamine8862 Don't worry, I put a dead lizard in her cereal, and drew angry eyebrows with Sharpie on all her Barbies!

+jason3fc The mini muffins were a brand new breakfast item and they also changed their french fry recipe that year too. The Simpsons was the most popular show on TV and it was an easy way to get people to try out these new products.
Fair enough
+pannoni4 The Simpsons was way more popular culturally in 1990 than those two shows, and if it had aired on a major network and not Fox in its infancy I'm sure the ratings would have reflected that.
The Simpsons appealed to kids, teenagers and adults in those first years. Bart Simpson became a counterculture icon overnight. Official and bootleg shirts with his image were commonplace. Nobody was clamoring for Cheers or Roseanne merchandise.
"Catch all three shark shapes and you win!"
Win what exactly?
6 potatoes and one extra but the extra potato is cut in half
you "win" the life-changing adrenaline high of catching all three sharks... LOL
OMG I wanted that Barbie Corvette SO badly!
I never realized how disturbing those Simpson dolls where
Simpsons toys had been awful just until relatively recently when they actually started to resemble the characters.
Is that Christina Ricci at 0:50?
Those new bumpers were okay for the 1990-91 feel. Nothing special but the the Claymation AFTERNOON TH ESE MESSAGES were the classics. I assume they wanted to update after 88-89 but I feel they should have never changed them at all.
John Cleese? Why are you narrating a Levi's ad?
It took me a minute to remember this piss-poor excuse for the classic ABC animated commercial bumpers, but I barely remember this "AM Posse", because I was too busy watching the far better Saturday morning lineup on CBS, they just got TMNT in '90!
BUT, the commercials themselves, epic. So many guest stars in them!

that Levis commercial looks like a mac demarco video
So this is tv in my birth year..
The voice in the first Kellogg's commercial saying "you play right, deep right" is Gary Coleman.
I really doubt it
I miss my yong life
11:14 My little Pony drink and wet? Oh god! I hope the modern My little Pony fandom(A.K.A Bronies) don't see these.
Alexander Joslyn I was totally thinking the same thing!!!
Bigg al we already been on it

Personally I'm more for the All in the Family type humor in sitcoms. Too many sitcoms are family friendly and airheaded like Hannah Montana.
I haven't had cable or watched broadcast TV at home in over a decade. I can't stand being at someone's house and watching TV, partly because of how the commercials just show up anywhere and so repetitively.
We don't own cable anymore as it is both expensive and pointless. Television has most definitely gone downhill.
The Spot NES game is an okay game, but it was originally a differently titled C64 game,
It also shown up as a game mode in a later game named ''The 7th Guest'' for DOS and other computer systems...
What is the choir singing in the Burger King Simpsons ad?
"Ay Caramba" and at the end "Don't have a cow man." both a phrase Bart used all the time in the 90's although I haven't watched it in years I don't know if he still uses it, I actually had the whole set of those dolls too when I was a kid.
16:50 I miss the sugar in Cinnamon Toast Crunch..
Just like when they change Skittles it made me never want to eat it again...
I always thought it was his hair.
1991... you JNOW this was old when the Burger King Kids Club has no Spanish kid, Wendell wasn't the ONLY Cinnamon Toast Crunch baker, the ABC posse was introing NEW KIDS!
Too bad that Count Micro Machine never carried on in the later Micro Machine commercials.
omg commercials and the toys were wayyyy better i had a few of those toys
New Kids on The Block were on after Beetlejuice? No thanks. I flip it over to the Piggsburg Pigs! Hey Micro Machines Man! Say, "Throw me that wheeskee" !
Are you sure Thora Birch was in that Hush Little Baby commercial?
+kingofpointless Yes, she's the girl who comes in at 17:06
Yes, that was her :-)
She was lucky she got to do that ad.
Hush Little Baby was the only doll I had asked Santa for back then. I never received her, though. Seeing the commercial nowadays makes me still want her now :(
I also wondered who those 2 other girls were as well :-)
Cool Cuts Kara basically was bald and wore weaves??
Question, how did they get the wheelchair kid from the Burger King Kids Club into the tree house?
There's a ramp behind the tree.
+Matthew J. Boone That tree is freaking tall, though! He must have an anti-gravity chair, or one kid's parents are pulling one too many health insurance scams.
The kid had hella core strength
My pretty ballerina I had!
I initially found it interesting how it seemed like 90% of the toy commercials were for girls dolls and baby items...Then I realized they were connected to the New Kids cartoon, which obviously was targeting the young girl demographic.

yusakug We got dancing babies out our BAUD rate later in the 90s.
5:50 RIP Andre the giant
I remember this ad.
12:21 That guy can say "Sure" while being punched. How 'bout it?!
wrestling buddy's!
bad when McDonald's was good
Wrestling buddies!!!!
This Hi C commercial is a rip off of Talking Heads lol.
TheArchiveOfWonder basically a parody
Ronald McDonald.... Nightmares
