Theraflu- There’s something so satisfying hearing the tea kettle whistling throughout this commercial. Cool Whip- While all the ways to enjoy Cool Whip depicted in this commercial are delicious in their own right, my favorite way to enjoy Cool Whip is simply enjoying it straight out of the container with a spoon. Johnson’s Baby Shampoo- Not only is the song in this commercial beautiful to listen to, but it’s also impressive seeing how the woman ages younger and younger with each swipe of the bubbles across the screen.
My Mom always watch designing women along with a lot of other stuff that was on CBS at the time and remembering she would laugh her head off RIP to my Mom whose passed away 9yrs ago yesterday
Happy Thanksgiving, 80sCommercial Vault, and the other regulars who comment here. Looking forward to the posting of the Thanksgiving Parade, and the holiday marathon coming up in December.
This was great! I graduated in 1990. I saw the date Nov/1990 that was the year and month I met my hubs..still together 33 years later..hard to believe that much time has passed. I got a bit teary when I saw the Johnson & Johnson baby shampoo commercial, I loved that commercial when it aired. It’s so whimsical. The Chevy beretta was a great car to drive, I wish I still had mine. Thank you for all these awesome uploads, I look forward to seeing all these little gems😊
That toothbrush commercial is interesting because I feel like I hardly see perfectly squared/rectangular toothbrushes anymore if at all. Was actually kind of weird to see.
Its interesting to me that classic shows like the honeymooners were not only still on reruns on various tv stations but they would celebrate it with specials. I remember watching shows like leave it to beaver, Dennis the menace, mister ed, well basically a bunch of the reruns theyd show on the original first run of Nick at Nite, also cartoons like the Flintstones and Jetsons, etc .
WIOU-Mason Adams's characters seem to have bad luck with guns(see F/X)😂 Jake & The Fatman-not a good idea hiding behind a moving car when being shot at Doctor Doctor-Matt Frewer's second attempt at headlining a sitcom(the other was Fox's Shaky Ground, which featured Jennifer Love Hewitt in one of her earlier roles)
That is Brandon Call who started played J.T. on Step By Step about a year after this. He also played Hasslehoff's son in the first season of Baywatch on NBC before it moved to syndication.
@@80sCommercialVault Thank you, I was trying to hunt down the show to try to get the context and try to figure it out. Turns out a 1 season show from 1990 is hard to find 30+ years later.

Didn’t think I’d find people liking the sound of a tea kettle letting of pressure on a commercial.

That CBS Special jingle has so much nostalgic tied to it ❤
7:52 - "I like to walk around naked, so stop nagging me, woman!!"
I've said it before and I'll say it again, those were good times. I'm getting the retro feels. Thank you!

I'd love for it to be Thanksgiving Day in 1990 again.
These are from Monday, November 12th, 1990. Thanksgiving was held 10 days after these aired that year.
This is programming for families! I love it!
6:32 “they say in the future we will grocery shop by computer.” Boy was he right!
Even funnier, by smartphone! I got the Winn Dixie app to prove it! XD

I just discovered the Nickelodeon 90s Kids channel on Pluto TV. It would be perfect with these ads!
Happy Thanksgiving!!

CBS SPECIAL! That always meant something awesome was always coming on, for me it would be something animated!
Happy thanksgiving 🦃
Happy Thanksgiving, but keep in mind that I’m posting something special tomorrow…as I do every year for Thanksgiving.
That intro got me in the mood!
That kid in the Colgate Toothpaste commercial at 10:24 is someone I’ve seen before. Maybe David Hasselhoff’s son in Baywatch, or in Step by Step?
That is Brandon Call who started played J.T. on Step By Step about a year after this. He also played Hasslehoff's son in the first season of Baywatch on NBC before it moved to syndication.
12:42: reminds me of Sky News in the early 90s
Doctor Doctor was a funny series too albeit short lived! Great crop of ads!
Women had big hair back then.
Anyone have any idea what he's saying in the WIOU ad?
5:00 "You said partly cloudy!
5:03 "It rained on Buffy's taffeta!
