    I wrote 2 or 3 months ago about my hairloss from covid. I want people to know it is coming back in and there's hope! I am amazed at all the little short hairs sprouting up and I didnt do anything special to help it! Well I did pray and stopped obsessing about it!! Just wanted to leave a upbeat message for everyone who's going through this🙌☮️🕊️

    I’m in the shedding phase of T.E. following Covid. I’ve been going with the flow until this weekend when I noticed the drastic difference of running my fingers through it. Definitely was the catalyst to mourning and lots of tears. Thank you so, so much for your encouragement and positivity! Your video, spirit, and energy really helped. 💕 I would love an update video just to hear from you more

    I've watched many videos on other women going through this and yours is the first to make me feel better about what I am going through. I am 5 months post kidney transplant and started losing a terrifying amount of hair about 2-3 months later. It peaked about a month ago and I was losing an entire fistful of hair daily. Thank you so much for posting your pictures, as I have the same hair type as your and am losing hair in the exact same way. It gives me hope that I will regain hopefully all of my hair back. My hair is fine but I had A LOT of it. So I think I was losing more than most because I had to much to lose. Wishing you a fast hair recovery!

    Thank you for this. My hair was my favorite thing about my looks. It's gone. I can't wait. I'm getting Rogaine. I've been through so much stress. I have an autistic son, we both had Covid twice.. I had the first strain & then I had omicron. I'm under so much pressure, I'm overwhelmed & I am completely traumatized. My hair was my super power.

    You are pure magic! I’ve been having a difficult time. I didn’t have Covid, But I lost my dad at the beginning of October. It was sudden and I was in pure shock. I haven’t been able to shake the trauma from all that it brought up. End of November I noticed hair loss and now it’s end of march and it’s still happening. I’m hoping it ends soon. Your video put a big smile on my face. Cheers from Canada.

    ok I'm watching this in 2024 and like you and others here have said, when this happens to you, you watch 1,000 videos and articles regarding it. I've been dealing with TE for almost a year now, and I have to say your video is the only one regarding this issue that actually made me smile. I even laughed when you put the ball of shedded hair back on your head for a moment. I just want to say thanks for that. I keep telling myself it's just my hair and could be so much worse, but honestly some days I'm fine and some days I'm halfway panicking. This gives me hope.

    Thank you for making this! I experienced telogen effluvium for the first time two years ago after an extremely bad case of the flu. It did grow back though! Now I’m experiencing it again after having a bad case of Covid. As frustrating as it is, I am thankful that I know it’s temporary and the best thing I can do is not stress and just take care of myself as much as possible, AND like you said just be thankful that I’m here, and I’m okay ❤️ this video made me feel so much less alone. Hey I'm loosing obsene amount of hair after a botched chemical straightening treatment from salon. My scalp seems ok. However the hairloss is severe. Lost 60 percent of hair in just 5 months. Doctors say it has triggered chronic talogen effluvium. I can see baby hair in each parting now. The hairloss is all over scalp. Please let me know if anyone has faced anything more or less like this. Any help for regrowth?

    I have had telegen effluvium since I had COVID in 2022. I am on my 3rd year of losing hair. I can relate to your video especially when you were combing your hair. That is exactly what happens to me. Doctors can’t help me. Dermatologists have no answers. I take vitamins, biotin, minoxidil and now they have me on finasteride which is making the shedding worse. I have tried hair masks, special shampoos, not wearing ponytails, just trying everything I can and still have no relief. I know there are worse things that people are going through and I feel guilty for complaining about my situation because as people tell me “it’s just hair”. But there is an emotional component to this that can really weigh on you. Thank you for sharing your journey and making me feel not alone.

    Had Covid pneumonia in Sept. 2021 and it’s exactly 2 months later and I was bawling in the shower as huge clumps of my hair was coming out. My “doctor” misdiagnosed me with alopecia areata. And they wonder why we google medical stuff🙄. I was actually a bit relieved to know what was going on and that it most likely will grow back. I was wondering if anyone else got joint pain along with it? My hands and feet are aching like crazy and I started getting shortness of breath here and there and light chest pains. The whole thing is just annoying and weird. Your video is very sweet and uplifting. So glad yours is growing back!

      I am sorry to hear that you are going through this, unfortunately alot of people that i know are going through the same thing. i also had the same symptoms post covid, along with fast heart beats, i went to the doctor and got some blood tests done, it turned out that i have overactive thyroid and very low vitamin D. I started taking vitamin D supplements and thankfully 6 weeks later, my thyroid function was back to normal. I am currently suffering from talogen effluvium, i have lost more than half of my hair already, but i have spoken to my dermatologist and she reassured me that all my hair will grow back. I also decided to get platelet-rich plasma injections to help with the hair growth but again it takes few months for you to see results. Now in regards to joint pain, it is most likely to be your muscles got weak post covid again, i found cycling to be helpful because it strengthens you leg muscles. For body itching, you can use antihistamine tablets like zyrtec or telfast. I hope this helps and stay strong.

      @@helenarichard my hair did stop falling out and is slowly growing back. Hang in there, things will get better. Time definitely heals, it’s just we all live in the age of right now! I’ve been drinking stinging nettle tea and it’s helped with my hand pain. If you had Covid in your chest bad and were/are coughing a lot make sure you haven’t injured any ribs. I had a few out of alignment from coughing and one day I just turned wrong and the pain dropped me to my knees and I was extremely short of breath. I've been looking to videos of this issue for emotional support. I'm going into 5 weeks of 300-500 hairs loss BUT of course only when I wash it and comb it is it worse. Other days it's close to that 100 a day.
    I have long, thick, dark hair...or I did. Very sad and very confused because I've had major surgeries in the past and did not have hair loss like this.
    I suggest washing hair with distilled water. Don't use biotin vitamins till hair actually starts growing back. Take multivitamins, rest, and hydrate. Massage scalp 10-15 minutes a day VERY GENTLY. I did research on fenugreek and clove oils, masks, and other remedies here on TH-cam....however, with Telogen Effluvium, you're gonna have to ride the shedding lightbolt! Nothing will prevent your hair from going through this phase so save your money. If you want to invest in a wig, that's ok. But your hair is growing back. Simple hair covering with scarf or bandana and baseball hat works too, and you could also use those on any occasion or day.
    When your hair starts growing back, I'm going to assume 2-3 months after the chronic hair shedding from TE, THEN, but slowly, incorporate hair growth products like Biotin vitamins and thickening hair products, and natural home made remedies. It'll make those strands stronger. However, I've noticed new growth and they too are falling out at this point. The new growth could be from using biotin and clove water in my hair while it's shedding...but it has no effect if your scalp is in telogen phase. What's helpful to keep shedding also is loose braid. Loose hair tie at the back of head and 4-5 twist styles on crown(top) of head and clip it with hair clips. Not too tight though...Wash once a week if you're not busy(sweating) too much, 3x if you are.
    In the meantime, embrace the suck. This too shall pass. God bless you all going through this and I hope for you to have patience in your recovery. For a woman, her hair is her crown...so yeah, it does mean something to shed it at the magnitude caused by TE and to COVID. For any woman losing her hair to anything is emotional. However, find support, stay active, do yoga and meditate to alleviate stress, and know this...indeed you're a beacon of beautiful! May God shed comfort and light through your TE shedding process!!!

My hair feels so thin. My hair has always been my best feature and now it’s about 20% gone. This video helped me feel a good bit better. You should do an update!! I subscribed. i’m having chronic TE from a number of things but the main things being low iron and low vitamin D. it’s been a year now of pretty bad hair loss but it’s slowing down thank god. my hair has always been my favorite thing about me and i’ve always had crazy hair goals of long thick hair and throughout this i had to go to very short hair and lost almost 40% of my hair thickness and it’s mentally been very hard. it took everything in me not to start minoxidil because i just wanted my hair back. hopefully it continues to slow down for me and then eventually i’ll get to the regrowth stage

      @@brielynne39 thanks for responding so quickly. How is your hair doing? I’m struggling to find someone who has also been having chronic TE. Its coming up to 9 months of shedding for me. I have low ferratin of 26 and on iron supplements but have only gone up to 42 in the past 5 months or so. Do you have low ferratin ? I’m trying to work out if this is the cause and have had low vit d and folate which is now back to normal. Also I don’t shed clumps but there’s constantly individual hair coming out every time I brush and shower and there are white bulbs on the end my texture has also changed and not taking colours properly. I am actually a hairdresser who specialises in wigs ironically so I know it’s not normal and I’m balding in my temple area and down my ears with overall thinning. What does your hair loss look like as there’s a slight concern for female pattern baldness. I also wanted to ask If you have had fluctuating sheds that haven’t stopped at 6 months. I’m wondering if this is a whole new shed or it’s the same one! Sorry for all the questions.

    • @brielynne39
      @brielynne39 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AlexFarr-jg5jp their all good questions. i originally had low iron and vitamin D, my doctor didn’t specifically test my ferratin so i can’t speak for that. my vitamins d went up pretty well, it only took maybe 3 months. my iron took close to a year to fully get up. i had what i would consider pretty consistent hair loss for a year and a half, my hair loss was visible at my hairline/temples but i also has general hair thinning. hair that falls out at the root will have a bulb at the end so that is a normal thing to see with hair loss but i also experienced some hair breakage because my hair wasn’t healthy. i also was getting pretty concerned for awhile that it could be AGA or female pattern hair loss, but as of now my hair loss seems to be in a normal range (which can still be a lot some days, humans just naturally lose a good amount of hair on a daily basis) now i haven’t experienced any hair regrowth yet and i’m still concerned about going through another hair loss cycle but i have hope that buy the 2 year mark all my lab levels will still be normal and i’ll hopefully be starting to get some regrowth. i totally understand all your questions and understand the fear and emotions that come with hair loss, i’m not a pro but hopefully this clears up some of your main questions

    • @AlexFarr-jg5jp
      @AlexFarr-jg5jp ปีที่แล้ว

      @@brielynne39 wow so glad I found your comment on here as it sounds so similar to me. I’m not sure if you know but ferratin is the iron storage even though my iron seems to be ok. This gives me a little hope that hopefully when my bloods go up the shedding will stop. My hair is also breaking and just so thin. Thank you so much for your replies. I’m glad you have came out the other side! I would be the happiest person in the world if this stops. My hair is also everything to me and after watching people loose there hair for years I never thought I would go through it and constantly told my clients to not stress. I have been absolutely devastated it’s taken over my life for the last 9 months. I have had 2 rounds of prp and due my 3rd in a couple of weeks. I would recommend trying prp for regrowth as I did feel my hair was trying to grow but because I’m still shedding it’s just falling out again. Also I have looked into nutrafol as I’m also not keen on minoxidil. It’s expensive but I have seen a lot of good things.

      My massive hair loss has stopped since i posted this! changing to natural hair products and i take multi vits and i switched to natural laundry products too ... i don't brush it when it is wet, i only use wide tooth combs. It is starting to grow back a bit with tiny weeny hairs growing in the parting under my fringe and the nape of my neck! mine was really bad from Sept until December and the feel and look of it improved after the first wash using SUKIN hair products and even more when i used the sensitive one and i have since added in the conditioner too and a tiny drop of leave in conditioner since the new hair growth as it helps to smooth it down a bit... my remaining hair was in terrible condition especially at the back of my hair as i lay flat for 21 days when i had covid and couldn't shower or wash my hair so that improved from the first Sukin use too ...
