I had the same thought playing the game before the anime came out thinking it felt off that I was hearing a pop song playing off a radio.

Despite leaving me empty, yet somehow made me felt more connected to the game world than ever. I often catch myself stumbling across the locations in anime especially the tower center. Then I just...freeze up. As if I knew someone irl that's been here before. Replaying scenes of episodes that transpired here while I just stood there contemplating with the city noise around me.
@schandmax Nope, the anime dragged me back into the game world and made me notice just how alive, pretty and grim the game world is . I have been walking through the city and taking my time on my second play through. And realizing just how much efforts and deatils the dev put in for me to have missed when I'm no longer simply getting from pt A to pt B.

This is what love is. Learning to suffer for the sake of each other in the face of adversity, shielding each other from harm, whatever the cost, however painful it may be, going forward and overcoming the obstacles that life throws at us making any necessary sacrifice. Not for our sake, but for the sake of the person we love. David and Lucy embodied this bond perfectly, and this is what makes this story so special.
The kiss scene in episode 4 (2:30) looked so genuine compared to most of the anime kiss scenes I've seen. Those three words haven't been said on screen but you know throughout the series they told them to themselves a lot of time.
Yup... best kiss in anime and second best kiss is the one they have in the final ep. which mirrored the first kiss... both times they practically achieved their dream. They're practically on the moon when they're with each other and sharing a kiss
You know she felt something for David when she just had to stall. That's it. Instead of whatever, she takes him to the moon, and goofs off. Genuinely let's go and enjoys it. Beautiful what they shared

This is just making me miss the romance and love that these two had for one another, starting from this young emotion towards one another and maturing into this beautiful and life-ending devotion to one another. Both of them tirelessly toiling to keep the other safe and happy and let them live their dreams with no care for oneself. The purity of emotion and sense of responsibility for the person they love is so heart warming yet at the same time so tragic because they couldn't have their ending together. All that toil, pain, regard, worry and effort for the only person in their lives who made it worth living taken away by the senseless apathy of the city and the corporate greed running it. So much purity and passion and the only thing to survive out of it was some bittersweet memories

I’m still just amazed at how this anime got me to care so much about the romance of two characters who we only saw for 10 episodes. Like I feel more attached to them than some 50 episode series I’ve watched before. It just felt so real🥺

The shot of David's death when the colors in the background change makes me think he was thinking of Lucy!! It matches her colors and it's also such a great parallel of Lucy looking down on him while riding the stretcher down the highway.
If only we could see more shows like this man, so touching 😢

Got me in tears. Happy for lucy to at least reach her goals but poor her without david…david was the best character.

Love how much they’re adding life to a city so big, so filled with lore, details, amazing game now! Fills more of the emptiness that felt in the beginning. Can’t wait to see how much more can be added to this city that feels like it’s own world!
What an absolutely astonishing feeling it is to be apart of the cyberpunk universe. This anime broke me, D & L are my favourite anime characters since Death Note. Replaying the game after Edgerunners is a completely fresh experience. More Cyberpunk please!

I can't stop crying when this comes on the radio while I'm playing now.
When they're laying on the bed with the Moon Brain Dance wrapper next to them (like a condom wrapper). I interpreted this as sharing something as simple as your dream with somebody else being more intimate than having sex with them. Since Night City is a hypersexualized city, the population is kind of desensitized to sex. A small and simple emotional connection is rarer than anything else.
I'm so glad they didn't deviate on how Night City was portrayed in the game.

The show really breathed so much life into night city. Whenever this goddamn song comes on you can't help but think of the show, but even still it adds a layer of sadness to V's story (which is already heartbreaking).

I don't see how that is the message you got from this lmao. Literally nothing seems glamorous about this at all. SPOILERS AHEAD
Not only did almost all of his friends die, he left his girlfriend behind to mourn and suffer over his death for a dream that she wouldn't want to have achieved it if would cost him his life. Literally the tagline is roughly you aren't remembered by how you live but instead by how you die. I'm glad the anime went this way because it wasn't just another MC has no consequences for his actions. He made poor decisions and it resulted in his death and his friends death.

A track off Body Heat Radio... my favorite in game Radio Station when chilling in V's Apt. Driving it's always on Morro Rock. Was surprised they used tracks from the game in the Anime.
It hits different now after watching the series. Its no Arcane but a great companion series for a game that is making a lot of people to come back to it. Now imagine but game was like even 80% of what they promised I can see why the hype was there and why investment banks and other investors were going crazy for the game's success. Let's hope the second game learn all the mistake and make a banger.
