Night City remembers people for how they died and not what they did before that.
It's safe to say David easily goes down as one of the most legendary cyberpunks in Night City. He battled MilTech, Arasaka, and it took Adam Smasher to finally put him down.
The best part? David died human.

Good examples, the hacker who I don't wanna spoil mentioned by Lucy and also in the Game, Johnny again spoiler and V from the game, and David. As a start.
You don't become a legend just by dying or how you died.
You become a legend based on what you did before you died.
I think, what sticks with me most is that it cost an inhuman effort, his life and the lives of almost everyone he ever worked with but David snatched a dream from that awful city. He won. And he got to know that before he went. Nobody gets a happy ending in Night City, but David might just have gotten as close as anyone ever has or will.

So, though most of the gang may have died at the end. They died because they had things precious enough to fight for.
In the city where you trust no one, they managed to find a glimmer of the old world. A world that cared for one another.
We ache for the things that could have been for them. The happiness they could've yet had. But in a way, it's a good thing their stories ended.
As memories, their image remains incorruptible. Out of reach from the city that grinds people to dust. From the madness and greed of a souless world.
Though, for the living. Lucy and Falco, they must still endure.
This is what love is. Learning to suffer for the sake of each other in the face of adversity, shielding each other from harm, whatever the cost, however painful it may be, going forward and overcoming the obstacles that life throws at us making any necessary sacrifice. Not for our sake, but for the sake of the person we love. David and Lucy incarnated this bond perfectly, and this is what makes this story special.

but the only problem w. that is, they lack communication causing them that pain and suffering from the latter part. Imagine if both of them had been transparent in the beginning, the incident may not even occur in the first place but hey, who are we to judge them. This what makes this series stand up because not all love story ends with a beautiful note, some including this ended bittersweet.
You can hate Cyberpunk 2077 ,but Edgerunners is something else. It is heartwarming masterpiece. I am 22 years old and I cried a lot.

I didn't even notice this till now but the scene of their first kiss Lucy is in purple and David in green, highlights from the lighting, it's like two worlds coming together like holy crap this is such a cool detail and storytelling bit.

This song and anime re opened a hole very profoundly within me. It hurts just listening and watching this. But its still beautiful to me. Its a whole rollercoaster of emotions. In end, it's okay..no really, we'll be okay. Just enjoy life for the adventure it is.
He was “special” as he was the one with a heartbreakingly large amount of humanity left compared to the others on night city

The shot of David's death when the colors in the background change makes me think he was thinking of Lucy!! It matches her colors and it's also such a great parallel of Lucy looking down on him while riding the stretcher down the highway.

They way she brought David out of cyberpsychosis really made me happy and sad at the same time
My mom passed away recently and what David witnessed has the same similarities to what happened with my mom. Since we lived in a 3rd world country, public insurances (Philhealth) here has a capping and doesn't benefit the patient so by technicality, we're not that rich. Mama didn't deserve terrible healthcare and the negligence of the hospital. Manuel Antonio Ko the Dr. doesn't give any crap and all he wants is to profit and to get more money because he is always not present when my mom was in the ER and especially when she is in the ICU. The Dr. himself is NOT present! Then when my mom passed away, he never contacted us and never asked anything on what happened. If only the Dr. was present then my mom could have been given some strong dosage of medicine to fight the sepsis because of the negligence of the nurses. The nurses kept on complaining when my mom was still strong and the nurses are getting paid to complain? All they have to do was to do their jobs but I guess that's the reason why the Manila East Medical Hospital is hot garbage and trash! We should have known and done our research earlier because that hospital is so notorious to have ALOT of bad reviews. But that is the only nearest hospital within our area but if only. I feel even till now, I failed saving my mom. We both have our dreams together and I am confident that our dreams will happen. Mama is always strong and always healthy. But I still feel, I failed saving my mom. Anyway, sorry for the long message. The first episode of this anime kept me this feeling of de ja vu all over again. With Mama's passing, I don't know what else I should do right now. I still have this job and work but it feels empty. David's journey feels the same or similar but at the same time different because he has Lucy at his side. All I have is myself and this corporate job of emptiness. I miss my Mama so much. 😢

the anime made me reinstall the game, hadnt touched it since launch, and i found out you can get davids sandevistan in the game, although it is no where near as OP as it is in the anime haha, still awesome though, plus you can get recbeccas guns, davids jacket etc etc

Then again, pretty sure that's what they were going for. Also, as if I needed yet ANOTHER reason to flatline Smasher, felt like running the final mission solo with just me and Johnny all over again JUST to body him again after Edgerunners. RIP David, Maine and Rebecca. Hells, RIP Kiwi too. xD

I will never stop crying after watching edge runners I feel like I need more of it but rewatching will just let me relive that feeling again and it’ll just be a big snowball effect.
