  • I'd like to thank my Sponsor Dynamic Discs for all the support they give me! If you guys are interested in the discs I throw, head over to Dyanmicdiscs.com and use My monthly code MOLT921 at checkout for a discount!
    Today we are throwing some disc golf discs out in the field to see how far i can throw different molds. We throw putters, then midranges, then fairway drivers then distance drivers. Let me know if you can throw farther (you probably can haha). I love disc golf and know many of you do as well!

    I’ve been having pretty much the same results, I think at this point it may have to do with Angle control with the faster distance drivers. I have very similar distances to you and pretty much throw 9-10 speeds for distance, I can get more out of a 12 speed but that’s only if I hit the angle just right . At this point the 9-10 speeds just offer more consistency.

    • @augustprice7550
      @augustprice7550 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@twistr2327 Anhyzer would be a turn over unless you meant hyzerflip turnover would make sense needing or wanting a faster disc because it will hold a more severe line and still come out of it. Hyzer flip would be harder to do with a faster disc because you would need to put the speed on it to get it to get it to pop up to flat.

    Don’t know how I missed this one but keep pumping out the great content! My putters go as far as my fairways 😂 basically the same as golf for me where my 7 iron goes as far as my driver (when I hit the correct lines I aim for)

    You should try a moonshine ballista for a distance driver. They are slightly stable out of the box, but once they are beat in they go FAR! I bet you could get 450 or more out of one

    Great video! I think as a beginner this question is one that may never enter into my head. I feel like I can't throw anything over a Fairway Driver(10 speed) so working on getting discs with super high glide ratings and seeing how that affects my throws(I'd say my arm speed without wrecking my shoulder or injuring my elbow is around an 8 or under). I can get at best around 200ish feet on my backhand Innova Leopard then I found a Innova Beast and can get that around 225 on a good form forehand(this is rare for me since I am not well practiced on my forehand shots and struggle for consistency when I'm trying to overthrow for distance). Would love to see you do some single disc videos where you nuance a particular disc on a familiar course and go out and demo different throws given the same disc for a round for all shots. If you have some new sponsor provided discs maybe showcasing shot setups for that particular disc rating too. Keep up the great content - loving your vids from your Clash Royale side and ventured over to this channel a while back and took up disc golf about 6 months ago. Miss your vlogs with your wife too, but I get that life happens and also privacy esp with kids involved too.

      How is it going now? I started playing last year and I was in about the same place after 6 months, with the Leopard. What are you throwing now? Do you still throw the Leopard, and how are your throws with it now? I went from hardly throwing it because I saw it as a beginner disc, and it was "low speed," to going back to it around 9 months in and having way, way more distance with it, and loving it.

    • @AlvinChao
      @AlvinChao ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@cnking27 It's still my best disc. I got a Divergent Discs driver set and have been using that with some modest success now that my form is a little better. Their Tiyanak 8/5/-5/1 is my go to right now for max distance. with the -5 I have to aim a little right to get it to hit where I want it to go.

    In a right to left wind, when the disc is on anhyzer, the wind is slamming it down. Since the flight of the distance shot is mostly on anhyzer, I think you lost some distance today.

    I've recently dumped all of my "distance" drivers from my bag. I just don't seem to have the speed to get the actual distance out of my discs. My go-to was a sapphire (which I lost and need to replace).

      Same here and my scores improved. To me the more I work on form, the more power I lose but I gain control and I don't hurt my body. I used to be able to throw faster but it hurt so I stopped doing that.

    This is very interesting to see. My max with putters is around 325, my mids go 350, fairways 375-400, and my distance drivers to 425. I seem to get a steady increase in distance when I increase the speeds of the discs. I think my form is just bad, but my armspeed is decent. The max distance shot I've ever thrown on flat ground is 485 with a Zeus, but I usually throw it around 400.

    I was introduced to DG around a year and a half ago. I play here and there, but in this past week I've been playing almost every day lol. I soon realized that my release of the disc is pretty bad (I don't expect it to be good since I haven't played consistently) is that something that I'll get better at the more I play? Or should it be something that I should really work on? New Subscriber as well. Thanks in advance!

    • @MHDiscgolf
      @MHDiscgolf  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The release is something that will naturally come as realize you are releasing early or late and missing your line. But I would definitely say to work on finding a consistent release point that way you can adjust your aim from there

    • @MHDiscgolf
      @MHDiscgolf  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MHDiscgolf appreciate the kind words . I know I’ll get there , I’m really just playing because it’s fun but a little more distance on these local courses would go a long way hahaha . On a really good throw I can hit around 285 but I’m averaging about 250-260 . My escape is my best disc for distance , but my Passion is my best disc for accuracy and for some reason I can only get about 230 with it so I use it mostly for 2nd shots on longer holes to set up my approach .

    I don't know what kind of actual courses y'all play on, but most courses around here (central NC) don't have any sections longer than 200' - they're all tight woodsy courses with lots of dog legs. A distance driver is completely useless.
