+Alexander Farrugia - eddie jordan's problem is not that it's a matter of whether it was legal or not, he thinks team orders shouldn't be used under any circumstance.
+Mark FormulaRacer That depends your perspective, i mean for ferrari has basically unlimited funds, or more that everyone in formula 1, and have a first and second position was quite normal. The Jordan Team was a midfield team and first and second was only possible because of the rain, with difficulties to develop the car, and a lot less money do it, the 1 and 2 was the best result of Jordan's team.
Michael just said the underlying truth of F1, like it or not, other teams like Red Bull (Silverstone 2011, Malaysia 2013 etc) and Mercedes (Abu Dhabi 2016) do it and it's not just a Ferrari policy only. On a side note, this grand prix was the last time Ferrari had a 1-2 finish.
Yes, such a shame to not have someone like schumacher around the paddock after his career ended, like we've had prost, hill, stewart and lauda up to recent years
dont like team orders, but schumacher was spot on there about winning the championship. i know ferrari did lose in the end, but if this hadnt happened, it wouldnt have been as close
@@dougjudy5352 Alonso’ side within Ferrari were trying to force position swap in Australia 2010, but Massa refused since it was only the 2nd race of the season. Tbf, Massa was leading the championship after the 3rd race.
Eddie is being quite hypocrytical here... He himself gave Ralf Schumacher the teamorder not to pass Hill when he was clearly much quicker in Spa 1998 and here he's he's making such a fuzz about it.
In Eddie's case, he was calling off a fight to preserve a one-two. He didn't tell a driver to move over for the other. I see what you're saying though.
Oh so it was without question he would pass him safely? So Damon wouldn't have defended the lead and possibly the hit each other? If Ralf was in the lead with Damon behind the team order would still be the same. Hold position and bring both cars home.He didn't show favoritism to either driver and say "Ralf is faster than you"
the team order rule was just an anti schumacher rule, just like the changing of the points system in 2003, one lap qualifying, tyres to last the whole race etc they tried so hard to stop him winning and finally achieved it in 2005
Well they made the rule because Schumacher and Ferrari made a mockery of the sport with team orders, and caused embarrassing situations like Austria 2002, where to add insult to injury was the actions on the podium causing even more drama and controversy. If they had been more lowkey about it and not caused the press to mock the entire sport because of these situations, it would've been fine.
There were many examples of team orders in the years they were banned, some more blatant and some not as much, and in 2007 and 2008, when Hamilton was in his early days at McLaren, the British media, the same British media that were accusing Ferrari of doing it here, were even endorsing their use at times. Expressions like 'maintain the gap' or whatever other expressions were used would allude to their use, and only now did they feel the need to sensationalize it and make a stink (when it was Ferrari who had done it), knowing the aforementioned point full well. So none of them (especially Eddie Jordan, who justified his own use of team orders as being 'in the interests of the team' as if that wasn't the case for anyone else) should be talking or criticizing, it's hypocritical at best to do so.
I don't know where you're from but in the German media we could always see what a good person he was in reality. I bet the Italian fans knew that too. Yes he was a fierce competitor but he was always a generous, intelligent and kind person off the track

I think if they were super straight about it even more, with confidence, like "yeah it was a goddamn team order. Our team needs to win! Team first. If someone is faster and being held up by our other driver that could potentially get us more points then we're gonna tell him to move!"
I guess that day was a shifting point in Massa's carrier.. I feel that he was crushed on that day.. a lot of people say its the accidents that affected him and I disagree I think that was it
@davidchong100 The thing is though team orders were allowed in 1998. Also, Eddie wasn't trying to give Damon the edge over Ralf as neither of them were in the title hunt. He was simply trying to protect the team. Let's face it, if you were in Eddie's position that day, you'd have done the same thing.
If vettel passed alonso and felipe, who will pay the price? Of course Ferrari. Is Ferrari willing to throw away a win, throw away $320 million per year to let their weaker driver fck it all up, I do not think so.
Can anybody explain the difference between this and malaysia 2013? I mean why vettel is being hated for ignoring team orders and when people listen they also hated?

Unless they don't want them to try and race each other for a risk of a crash or something like that. That's true, but they did team orders, what if Ralf was going to overtake Hill without problems? Still 1-2 finish for the team but no, they don't take risks just like any other team would do probably.
What MSC says in the interview. I get his point. The last race or the last few races etc team orders or drivers allowing others past to win championship e.g 2007 Brazil Massa and Kimi. But the thing he says "we were leading so much" (back in his day) everyone hated because it was unnecessary. Also because there was no rivalry or challenge within the team. The only way to stop this is to fuck team mates. Each team has one driver. If F1 goes back to the way it was I will stop watching it again.
What difference does it make? Still the same thing for me, even if it's not forbidden. Killing someone is bad, and there are people that say that in a war it is not a crime, which is false.
In 2007, Ron Dennis completely favoured his new found pet Hamilton. He wasn't given the respect he deserved as a double world champion. To say Alonso can't overtake is just...stupid. You only need to watch his 2004-2006 races, to say the least. More recently, his pass around Button on the outside in Brazil disproves that. He made a mistake passing Kubica, which every driver does, Hamilton more than anyone else it seems. And you can't blow an engine trying to overtake someone.
You missed the point. Team orders are allowed now. Back in 2010 they were not. I know fanboys don't care about facts but in case you honestly didn't know, there you go.
Because Alonso has no guts to push himself or the car to overtake someone, he always goes "im faster than him, tell him to let me pass" LOL, how stupid. This is F1 man, you're faster? PASS HIM AND THAT'S IT!! That's why I don't like him much and so do others.
