We have an old cemetery in Massachusetts called spider gates because of the web-like wrought-iron work on the gate. It is a cemetery for quakers and is hard to find. It was started so quakers could have a place to be buried and not have their graves desecrated. It is a good possibility that Dyer is buried there.

It seems that John Beluchi 's situation was not the same as just being in an unmarked grave because no one could give you a proper burial or your body was not identified and went to a pauper's grave (etc). Beluchi's body was intentionally moved to a secret obscure spot so that no one would bother his grave or body.

Why would you want your body buried? I either want to be cremated and have a tree seed planted in my ashes so I can grow a tree that towers over my family's graves. Or I want to be cremated and sent out in space. Or I want to be cremated and sent to the bottom of the ocean. Or I want to be skinned and have my skin cover a two toms of a drum kit with the human rights engraved on one of the toms and some type of inspiring quote on the other tom. Or I want my ashes pressurized into a diamond. Or I want to be taxidermy, stand me up at some entrance to a library or something, standing on one leg, a ridiculous smile on my face, one eye closed, and my hand up in the air for high fives from people walking in. Doesn't that sound a lot more awesome than being buried and eventually being eaten up and rotting until you're just bones? The answer to that riddle is yes.

What works for some people doesn't work for others. Waking up in a casket is pretty scary, although it doesn't happen as much as it used to. But why would you want to be thrown in a hole and have dirt piled onto you? I never understood that, I relate it to people sweeping dirt under a rug. I'd go with being launched into space over being buried, ten outta ten times.

My spouse and I are giving our corpses to a company that will take what can be used for research (no transplant) only. Within 3-5 weeks ashes will be returned. If I had my choice, mine would then be tossed into the nearest dumpster, but my sentimental one is arranging for us to be scattered in the rose garden of the church his family attends with little brass plates for our names and dates and anything else we want on it tacked onto a large cross in the center of the garden. It is a pretty spot and his parents, 2 brothers and sister-in-law were scattered there, so we will be also. I just figger when I'm gone, I'm done with the body.
