Ugh that last throw. Leinster have a terrible habit of making mistakes at the death.
Yeah a poor one to leave the door open for Edinburgh - and they walked on through. Lucky it didn't cost more than points difference and losing bonus point
Good to see you back in a Leinster jersey!
(hopefully will be still in it for the last few games of the season..)
Yeah man good to have the URC back in action!
What a way to start the most competitive league in world rugby. I can't wait for the South African teams to join the fun next weekend.
Great game
Not a bad way to start the comp eh?
Good way to start to the competition.
Yeah not a bad start eh? Higher quality than usual first game of the season
Edinburgh fustratingly close to being quite good
I’ve said it before, and I’m sure I’ll say it again, Edinburgh just look more dangerous with Vellacott on the pitch. All credit to everything Price has done for Scottish rugby, but not playing our co-captain as first choice scrum-half hurt us a lot last season, and it was disappointing to see the teamsheet before kick-off. Still, 2 points from a game against Leinster is a reasonable return, fingers crossed for the rest of the season.
Yeah Vellacott is definitely that kind of zippy 9 that fits well with the Edinburgh backline
Good game, silly mistakes by Edinburgh cost us! And going for the half way penalty was lunacy imo
Frustrating. Can’t expect to beat Leinster if they gift territory and tries like they did.
@@AH-qv6js looked an improvement on last year, hope it carries on
After finishing 3rd in the "URC van der Merwe" try scoring log last year, DvdM off to a good start🤣
Talk about low atmosphere due to sparse attendance ... Leinster play the Dragons at the Aviva next weekend
At the Aviva!?
@@TwoCentsRugby Yeah. Other stadiums are not available. For Munster semi 2 years ago they only opened the lower tier and atmosphere was great. Don't know how they'll arrange things for the Dragons. Possibly just one side between the goal lines ? I've no idea !
Ah man yeah... at Eden Park they only open one side for NPC games.. saves on costs and looks better if you point the camera only in one direction 😅
@@TwoCentsRugbyThe RDS, their usual smaller home ground is being redeveloped.
18,000 tickets sold. It'll be the biggest attendance of the weekend.
Great game to start the season. Good performance by Edinburgh after a disappointing season last year. They should definitely be a playoffs team in my opinion. Tommy O'Brien can't seem to catch a break. If he could just get a string of games, I think he'd have a shot at Ireland. He's got top-end speed, which not many other Irish wingers have.
Good start to the season! Nice to see some umpf from Edinburgh compared to last season, and yeah the Hive can get real bouncy and has great atmosphere. Were a tiny rugby nation compared to our fellows (I believe we have 23,000 registered rugby players from age 5 on? 😂) so it works for us for sure.
Thought young Mo Tuipulotu had a good debut. Only 23 as well 😂 big lad.
As a note on the handling, it is both a bit humid and pissing rain here 😂
You are correct. Cherry's try was a maul try. It was right in front of where i was sitting.
Right cheers for the confirmation mate! Seemed like the stadium was in good form
Bulls have been warming up in the Currie Cup. Should be a competitive clash
Yo Mark! Seems like we were both confused here. After the Larmour try, the score was 21 - 17. Then after the JGP it went to 26 - 19. Which at that point, Edinburgh couldn't go from 17 points to 19.
After the larmour try the score changed to 19 - 19 so it was a mess up on the broadcasters, I think.
Yeah man they re-started the broadcast here with Edinburgh on 19 points, then it switched to 21 so I wasn't sure what was going on
Not bad seeing that were away from home and we didn’t have a long list of international players there and Edinburgh had their full team.
Missing Furlong, Porter, Sheehan, Snyman/McCarthy, Doris, VDF, Baird, Frawley, Keenan, Lowe, Henshaw.
BP win aye despite some guys out - not a bad start to the season
Fun game all in all. Conan is just great to watch. And that decision to go for points from 50 was ridiculous. I like the balls but they had all the momentum and Leinster were waffling a bit.
Yeah Conan clearly had some pent up energy from the off season! And right, the long penalty was a pretty low percentage play
Hive is 8,000
Wish we had one similar man
How did leinster screw the last 20 minutes by almost letting them draw, only lucky a missed conversion
Yeah not ruthless at the death aye
@@TwoCentsRugby whilst leinster won, serious questions need to be asked why leinster who usually finish teams off in the last 20 didnt do so. Ok its the first game fair but they wont get away with that again
It will be interesting to see JGP with a beard and no hair on his head. I assume he still has a beard?
Definitely still rocking the beard!
Some good tries by south africans. 😂
Good review
Ali Price was absolutely awful. How he lasted 65 minutes in this game was a joke. Also crazy to think he was a British & Irish test starter not even 4 years ago.
Yeah I would like to see Velacott get a start man
Ross Byrne please just leave. Go to a Welsh club.
Hard to believe the fella is almost 30....
Van der Merwe looked a bit over rated in that game IMO, lazy.
Was it a yellow card ??? I taught it was a fair contest. But I only seen a poor highlights video.. ??
Yeah it's not the most egregious but he's not in the best position to compete
I don't think their was anything wrong with the contesting. Unfortunately he pulled Darcys shoulder in the air which made him land on his back. I think the yellow was for the dangerous action.
A bit crap from both sides but a win is a win.
Yeah a few silly mistakes but for a first game of the season, not too bad
Why did Leinster put out a more or less second string team?
