What a useful video this is! I had the same issue where I didnt quite rotate the steam knob completely and just couldnt get my second shot. The instructions in this video should be incorporated in the Solis Manual
This video is very long for what it's trying to describe. Here's what you need to know: 5:00 After you're done using the steamer, turn it completely off. Turn the dial all the way to the OFF position until you hear a click. 8:00 Push the water filter down with some force until it snaps into place. You'll see the filter touch the bottom of the slot.
I’m so glad I watched this video. You saved my life. I have been noticing the water filter of my Solis is not firmly set but I thought that’s the way it is because I pressed it hard to make sure it fits there. Today, I watched this video and I believed your message and I pressed the filter even harder, then guess what?! I heard the click and the filter is set nicely. I’ve been using my Solis Barista Perfetta Plus for a month and have been wondering why it doesn’t taste good when I dial in to 9 bars (I had to grind coarser than espresso range) and I had to dial in to somewhere 13 bars or so to make it tastes okay. But now, I could grind to espresso mesh and still the pressure was 9.5 bars! Of course that was the best tasting espresso since I got this machine. Thank you so much! I think Solis need to improve the manual because I’ve seen many other people are talking about this high pressure issue on Reddit. I’m pretty sure their water filters are not set correctly.
I am stuck with before first use (water filter cartridge) I fitted the filter in properly. Pressed programming button, followed by steam button, followed by single shot extraction button and finally programming button. Hot water came out but the SINGLE CUP EXTRACTION DIDN'T FLASH WHITE AND RED AND DOUBLE EXTRACTION BUTTON DIDN'T LIGHT UP WHITE CONTINUOUSLY as stated in the manual I tried a few times and it just went to 1 shot and 2 shot both litted continuouly.
Hi did you experience channeling on your puck due to water spurt on the group head? I noticed that there is a water spurt on my machine and it makes a channeling on the puck on the same spot every time. I wonder if this is also an issue on other units.

Question If I am only using bottled water do I need to use the filter?
Put a rubber band on the steam knob. The rubber band gives you a MUCH better grip on the knob, than the bare knob.

Not sure why your lights keep blinking.... perhaps make sure the steamer is truly off, Exert a little effort in turning the knob back to OFF.

Had the same issue, you really need snug it tight. On top of your issue, it would continue to leak water from the steamer nozzle as well.
