The whole point of the Solis is that you can drop the pressurized basket, so even if it would take a little more work to dial in, it would be interesting to see the differences in the end result.
For not much more money you could Go with unpressurized portafilter On the bubble unit as well. James Hoffman did a good review on the sub $1000 espresso machines And he seemed to like the bambino plus And rated it 2nd out of 5 i think for milk steaming power and excellent quality of texture. I am still doing all the research and watching every video review I can to decide before black Friday in case one of them goes on sale hahaha. I'm leaning toward the Breville Bambino Plus for the speed and versatility. It also Looks to have a more stable brew temperature in a lot of the video reviews. I do love the idea of pressurized quarter filter and automatic milk steaming and being almost entirely hands off for a weekday Coffee as I rush out the door And yet still be able to pull a good shot on the weekends or on days that I'm not in a rush and paly with Getting the perfect milk texture and even trying my hand at latte art Haha. That 4 hole steamwand seems to be very well loved in this price point as well (another selling point over the base Bambino or Solis Perfetta.)
I think it is worth while to add the Bambino is very capable of inserting a no pressurized basket, they just don't come with them in the American market.
Agree with this 100%. Not only can the Bambino take a non pressurized basket if purchased separately, but you can also pull shots manually(controlling pre-infusion and not using the preset 1 or 2 shot buttons) AND you can steam milk manually instead of using the automatic foam feature.
Is there a reason you stopped the shot short on the both machines? I suppose 14 grams would not require much time. But the shots did look a bit loose too me.
my solis never seemed to get hot enough pulling shots and when i started steaming my milk i smelled somthing burning 2 days later it stoped working the lights just continue to blink only owned for 1 week noticed in america they are not selling the solis new anymore only open box or refurbished a week later i bought the breville bambino and with the bottomless portafilter i bought and baratza esp ive been making the best espresso ive ever had honestly much better then starbucks the milk frother works way better then solis and machine is really quick😊 just put in the work to dial it in u can adjust it to pull shots how ever u want
A lot of inaccuracies here… I want to assume good intent, but it seems like it’s just trying to sell the Solis over the Breville by providing inaccurate information on the Bambino Plus. The Bambino Plus does come with an unpressurized basket, and you can steam the milk yourself.
I purchased my Bambino about a month ago. Mine came with both pressurized and unpressurized baskets. It took several hours and I wasted a lot of coffee To dial in unpressurized basket. In a milk drink I cannot taste the difference. But in an espresso there is a difference but I'm also not sure that it's better Just different. Maybe I'm not sophisticated enough 🤣 What I really like about the bambino is the quick heat up time and any machine that does it in under 30 seconds it becomes and nonevent. The main point of this comparison and conclusion is not correct 😀
@@N9524Q thank you! I hadn't looked on their website yet but it looks like if you purchased it directly through Breville it also comes with both both pressurized and non pressurized baskets! Thank you again!
most inaccurate review ive ever seen both come with non pressurized baskets even in america i have both because my solis stoped working after a week i have bambino not plus but solis has a pressure gage and bambino does not. bambino seems to just steam and work better because of the thermo jet that heats up instead of thermo block witch is used on cheaper machines like delonghi deteca but solis comes with way better accessories. bambino plus has an auto steamer like he said but no matter what u buy u need to atleast buy a grinder like the baratza esp or fellow opus are the cheapest ones that work u cant make espresso thats any good with old preground coffee i bought a bottomless portafilter and ims basket with a better tamper and my bambino makes a perfect latte with the bottomless portafilter main difference is the heating element and no pressure gage and auto steamer
I just bought a Bambino Plus from another retailer this week, it came with both pressurized and non-pressurized baskets.
Do you live in Europe? Bc it does under the Sage brand

Great video! I love the Solis! Thanks Pat!
So good - thank you for this helpful info
The bambino plus comes with single wall baskets? Well at least mine did.
Can my timemore C3 grinder good with solis barista perfetta (for reaching 9 bar)?
Excellent! I definitely made my final choice - Breville Bambino.

My bambino came with both baskets. I knew this when researching my next espresso machine. It is a very capable machine using non pressurized baskets.
Thanks for teaching us this delicious coffee
For the Solis, How do I dispense the hot water? Can't seem to figure it out.
Hi Alfred, the Solis Perfetta does not have a hot water spout, just a steam wand.
@@SeattleCoffeeGear thanks, had the impression than hot water also came out of the steam wand too?
@@alfredtolentino8614 Per the manual. Don't activate the steam button, open the steam valve and it will dispense hot water.

I think it was more about how strong a drink would turn out, you can keep it brewing for 25 secs
Just bought the Solis Barista Perfetta from SCG!
We hope you enjoy it!!
I would have been interested to see what the the pucks look like after the shots were extracted
