I commented on here earlier but one other thing I really liked about this guitar is the fact that Richie actually uses it… a lot. If you see Richie play live or in his videos there’s a 75% chance he’s using this guitar. You’ve got guys like Bonamassa with a dozen “signature” models but in real life he’s using vintage gear nobody could afford. Richie didn’t just sign a deal for Fender to use his name, he designed the guitar for himself and his guitar is literally an off the shelf model.

    • @armanneto
      @armanneto 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

And when he is not using his tele, his using his stratocaster signature model. To reinforce what you just said, this say a lot!

I purchased one a couple months ago. Took me a couple weeks to get used to the softball bat sized neck. I have found myself playing ikon the neck position 90 percent of the time. The twang king sounds phenomenal through my VOX AC30 amp. Craftsmanship was spot on and couldn’t be happier with my purchase. Well done Fender

For what it's worth, I've seen Richie's Tele up close, and he has both pickups set very low height-wise, almost flush with the pickguard, so you were right to drop the pickup height.

Tried one of these a couple weeks ago. Love the look, neck way too thick imo (and I have a bunch of different guitars and size necks). Not sure if it was supposed to be this way, but the pickup selector went opposite (forward was the bridge). Tones were decent though. Also loved the arm contour idea, more fender teles should have that.

Hi. Would like to know if you had any issues with the bridge pickup on your Ritchie Kotzen Tele? Went to collect mine couple of days ago and it was buzzing and humming like a nest of angry bees. Hope its just a defective piece and not the norm. Your feedback on yours will be appreciated. Thanks!

  • @scottbrown5403

I got one in November for a smoking deal(900 Canadian) but it needed some TLC. It was missing the gold hardware and had been rewired improperly. It had a 4 way switch that only had two settings. I stuck with the 4 way and changed the switch plate to have the volume in front and the switch at the back. I am gonna put gold hardware back down the road. But I love the neck and I love the pick ups. I set the pickup height to factory and put on pure nickel strings and it is perfect. I ,play it into a Traynor YCS90 and it is heaven on the clean channel for music that is country leaning.

Dude same. For how big I am I have small hands, but I honestly don’t know what people are on about with this tele. It’s a dream to play. If I can play it and if Tash Sultana who’s all of 5 feet tall can shred on it then the neck isn’t a problem for small hands.

I got one like 14 years ago and never changed guitar ever since and I played all kind of genre with it. The thing that kept bothering me through the years is the weight in live situations. Robert, the neck is a deep C like a '59 burst rather than the really deep U. I find the Tele's neck more inspirational but really like the RK Strat neck also. If you have tried a Fender Ed O'Brien Strat, the RK is similar but maybe a mm or two thinner.

Hey Robert thanks for your fantastic demo even though I'm already a RK telecaster owner & " true believer " it Really IS a Badass Do-it-all Tele !! I'd Love to know what your running through to achieve your awesome Badass Juicy Tone !!! obviously your fantastic playing & great Hands tone are a big part of it but I'd Love to know your signal path ta & the Kotzen Tele is a big Go-To guitar in my live & studio work $ I did actually my guitar Tech did swap out the rotary series-parallel switch & we put in a CTS 250k tone pot & a little upspec rewire & it gives the guitar a whole Lotta Love in the tonal flexibility dept & found I could balance the Neck pickup a little better with the Bridge & just round off the note & get that cool subtle "squish' on the nose of the note for great Blues tones !! look forward to more brother all the best cheers from Downunder ChrisDBlues

    Kotzen Tele
    John Mayer Strat
I have a few more but I can tell you this without a doubt, if my house was on fire I'd grab the Tele first and the EJ strat second
Even though I don't have giant hands but the neck on this just feels so organic that you cant help but play without a pick. I would recommend it to ANYONE.

Just replace the neck pickup with a tele-sized mini-humbucker and, voila! 😃
    Great playing btw!

What are you using for your amp, FX, etc.? Your overdriven sound is fantastic!

This year, I decided to purchase a Fender Telecaster and sold all the rest of my guitars (Vigier GV, Musicman Reflex, PRS CE24). I bought this model and believe me, even if I am a huge fan of Richie Kotzen, this is not the reason I bought this guitar. The neck is just perfect ! I am so tired of those narrow slim neck profiles which are supposed to make you play faster ! this one is not as big as I would have liked, but this is a godsend ! a nice wide and big piece of maple ! the electronic is just so versatile. You can play very nice clean stuff, very powerful lead tones and to play the blues, it sound just perfect. I was hesitating between this model and the Reverend Gristlemaster, but since this brand is no longer available in my country ... the choice was obvious. This is the only one guitar I own now and I can play all the stuff I want.

Is that the way the bridge pickup sounds naturally without any pedals and amp settings?

Dimarzio Area Tele neck pickup is the best I've tried.
    Silent and clear. No mud.

I love the neck pickup on the RK Tele... really squishy and lush. Switch to middle position and instant gain boost mid range bark. Really versatile axe and gorgeous. MIJ is no hype!

I couldn't buy that guitar, so I bought a 2tsb US tele and have systematically converted it in to something similar. Same pickups, new saddles, 12" radius neck, locking tuners. Hell yeah. I put a push/push pot in the volume position that is also a series/parallel, so I still have that no-load tone pot. I wasn't aware of the arm contour though, that's rad.

Jeff Loomis recently posted that this is the guitar he's been playing a lot lately
