    this guy as an artist and musician is criminally underrated. he should be all over the radio

    • @grigorirasputin9507
      @grigorirasputin9507 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      He is definitely not underrated, under known yes (which I've found completely bizarre and it actually pisses me off at times), but not underrated.
      And you are absolutely right, he should have been one of THE biggest things going since a long time, but you know what? He has an extremely devoted fan base, and it grows all the time.
      He is just truly awesome.

    The poor guy, I’ve seen dozens of videos of him talking about his guitar and Fly rig etc. It’s really cool of him to show his recording setup and go over his stuff for everyone. Seems like a pretty down to earth dude. Super talented. Wish him years of success to come. Really enjoy his music.

    Masterful songwriter, virtuoso guitarist & one of the best vocalists on the planet. Overall, a brilliant artist. The biggest reason this guy isn't a household name is simply because he has stayed true to himself over all these years. Being a "do as we say, not as you do" bunch, the mainstream music industry really frowns on that.

    Big fan! So cool that you befriended Bill Withers (RIP). What a cool complex dude.. such a loss. I had the opportunity to see Winery Dogs live at Sony Hall (NYC) last year - great experience! Thanks for the walk through of your gear and workflows. Love the vibe of the place and the marionettes treasures. I favor telecasters too! Keep creating.

    From 92 to 98 I lived in Hollywood California. Was going to M.I.T. Anyway I seen Richie and met him six or seven times, when he would do seminars at the school or Guitar Center. Seen him one time play a small Club in the valley with Tony macalpine. Now since I think about it I recorded that show on a cassette tape hidden in my jacket, still have it somewhere in my music room. Anyway with all that being said, Richie Kotzen is nothing like I remember from those day's.

    Thanks for the tour Richie, and it’s nice to know you are still hanging onto that 68 Marshall : D I have this little ancient mono Grommes amplifier that has best deep resonant bass sound and when you add a preamp or a good rack mount overdrive with compression it sounds amazing after you delay the signal between amps.. but wow do I love how you keep your signals all connected, & how practical it is - what a great setup!

    It’s been a long time since “Arthur’s museum” I first met him in (1980 something) at the “Silo” reading PA before the Poison gig or Greg Howe collab, I don’t even think Mike Varney was hip to him yet and the last time I saw him (years later) he was taking over for Paul Gilbert at a small fair gig with Mr. Big a little glassy eyed I don’t think he heard a word I said, but he’s always been a great guitarist and a solid dude but lots of nasty chemicals in those days and lots of talented dudes never made it out of that hole, but I hear he’s got his shit together and the solid blues rock things suits him, also he developed a really cool vocal style I wish him all the best

    So true about the drum mic by the floor Tom pointing into the kit. It works every time. Try this, Put one overhead above the snare too, hang on I’ll tell you how…
    With a small to medium size live room try this: sit on the drum stool take a string and measure from the middle of the snare to the floor tom Mic then keep your finger holding the string on the snare head and raise your hand holding the other end of the string the same distance but directly above the snare drum up over your head. Understand? The distance from the floor Tom microphone to the middle of the snare and the one overhead to the middle of the snare is the same…
    Put one overhead mic right there. Pan those two microphones hard left and hard right use them for overhead and kit. Then add one snare drum mic and kick drum mic but move the kick drum mic back about 1 foot away from the kick drum.
    That Mic set up with the right room and good sounding drums is killer! I’m pretty sure it’s the GlynnJohn’s technique anyway I’ve used it on many recordings I love it.
    This doesn’t work for heavy-metal though OK…
    Try it you’ll like it!
