3rd one isn't a Muslim
Bella is Muslim. She said she regrets not growing up more in the Muslim culture but said she is proud to be Muslim.
Being a believing Muslim and a practicing Muslim are different. Culturally we are so religious that we tend to think of Muslims who don’t practice as not real Muslims but whenever I engage in heated debates or physical alterations with Christians it’s always the tattooed Muslim man or miniskirt wearing Muslimah who come and show their support stronger than others do.
I have a deep respect for non-practicing Muslims because many times people are afraid to convert because they think you have to practice when in reality, first become Muslim and then you will practice with Allah’s guidance.
There's no such thing as 'non-practicing' Muslim. The syahaadah that you utter with your tongue has weight and responsibility to it. It's right there in the earliest part of al-Baqarah... Faith/Iman is with heart+words+practice.

The nomadic Arabs said, “We have attained faith.” Say: “You have not attained faith; rather say, ‘We have become Muslims,’ for faith has not yet entered into your hearts. But if you obey Allah and His Messenger, He will not diminish any of your deeds; indeed, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Bestowing of mercy.”
Al-Ḥujurāt, Ayah 14
Allah also said:
Indeed, Allah does not forgive associating(any partners) with Him, yet He forgives anything less than that for whomever He wills. And whoever associates anything with Allah has very truly fabricated a great sin.
An-Nisāʾ, Ayah 48
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Whoever says there is no god but Allah enters Paradise even if he commits adultery and even if he steals (i.e. even if he commits great sins).
There are levels in Islam and iman is the one you are referring to. As Muslims we believe iman increases and decreases and that our brothers in Islam will one day increase their iman and become more observant.
Your expectancy of all Muslims being not as committed as a sheikh is absurd. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: By Him in Whose Hand is my life, if you were not to commit sin, Allah would sweep you out of existence and He would replace (you by) those people who would commit sin and seek forgiveness from Allah, and He would have pardoned them.
Don’t be those who speak out of knowledge. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: A person may utter a word that he thinks harmless, but it results in his falling in falling in Hellfire for 70 years.
Technically one who doesn't pray at all is a kafir, and one who does every now and then is a hypocrite. Believing and practicing go hand in hand, believing the mere shahada is the Level 0
@@P3RSl4N that is true but their kufr is kufr asghar (small-kufr) not kufr akbar. If they believed it is not obligatory then they have left the fold of Islam. If they believe it is obligatory but don’t perform it because they are lazy then it is kufr asghar and they are under Allah’s mercy. What we know for a fact is that any person who believes in Islam will enter heaven inshallah as the Prophet peace be upon him said in the sahih hadith:
"Whoever meets Allah without associating partners with Him will enter Paradise, and whoever meets Him while associating partners with Him will enter Hell."
Obviously everyone should pray and do their best to be the best they can for both their sake and for the sake of the ummah but the best way has always been to call gently and give reminders to such people. When I was younger I never prayed from 16 to my late 20’s until a friend of mine kept taking me to the mosque whenever I was with him until it became something I feel empty without. Likewise many of our brothers and sisters don’t need someone constantly reminding them that they are wrong and bad etc but rather take their hand and pull them to the mosque or to a lecture because people are more open to something when they feel they made the choice rather than them being forced to do something. May Allah guide all our ummah
I understand a lot from you point of view. But please remember, we don't know who is a kafir who isn't. As for non-practising Muslims they are born Muslim and yes, Everyone is under Allah's care. But people who don't pray at all aren't Muslims. So the tattooed brother or a non-covering sister might pray too. However if Salah is not in one's heart then there's no light in their heart. And Allah knows best.

I will judge a non practising muslim for all they not doing, yet. But i will love them and encourage them all the same. Not hate them. Judge them. Correct them. Ask them to do more. To improve th3mselves. And myself included. I have been to America. I see people slowly drop out from Islam. They PROUDLY said their grandfather was Muslim. They are not. Their religion is$$$$$$, materialistic, free lifestyle, etc.
