Please don't skip over the settings. There's always someone who is switching from iPhone to Android and they want to see the amount of customization their phone has. Companies may take out or add settings. Plus you are the only one I know who covers settings. Appreciate your work.

I had no choice..my S21 had a glitch from the last software update and they had to send me the S22
Well as much as a love flossy and white shoes i think flossy not quite correct as the S21Ultra that I have doesn't have a built-in Bluetooth S-Pen it's brighter than a S21Ultra has better camera software which gives you better results and not forgetting impressive night mode photos also the S22 Ultra is wider which is nicer in the hands (ladies you know the procedures) and it's not as top heavy better balanced as the metal has been removed from the camera lens so a different phone period 😉
My vote is for not skipping over the settings. Also I vote for waiting for retail units. These two things are for me what makes your reviews truly a REAL review.
I like how you play and use the phone like we do! Seeing the full experience is what sets you apart from all the other reviews out there.

I love you going through the settings! However, I think a massive improvement that makes everyone happy is if you add the timestamps in the description. That way they become available on the video, so for those who don't care that much about settings, they can skip that section, while us who do care can watch it and get a rough estimate on how long each section of the video is!
Don't stop with the in depth settings coverage. As a person who just switched from iPhones to Galaxy phones it REALLY came in handy.

Yeah I guess but on the other hand, even by an s21 ultra for $700 right now. In a year's time the s22 ultra will be $700. Note 20 ultra has the more thermally efficient ship, and expandable storage and 12 GB of RAM in every model. If you only live once treat yourself to a Note 9 for $200 and you'll have $1,000 left over!

And Note20U stops receiving updates next year too otherwise I would've got it. Rn I'm rocking Note10+, It stops updating this year but I'm getting s22U and that'll do me a solid for 4yrs .
Facts
The one thing that I was focusing on is how incredible Samsung Galaxy S22 battery performance is. Despite that flossy actually uses full brightness + extra brightness, the battery only drops from 75 to 73 in 15 minutes, that's a long time.

As for the debate whether to switch things up, I wouldn't put much thought into it because you'll just start overthinking everything then find yourself in a rut before you realize it. Only thing against the s21 is you end up with a years less updates and security patches. Not a problem if you turn your phone over in 2 years, but I like to hold on to mine. Great review as always, best place to find out if a phone has got the goods. Thank you.

The package presentation from all these flagship phones are getting pathetic. They charge consumers like robbery in a broad daylight and yet the packaging is nowhere near premium phone. I don’t like this. Nevertheless, great review video as always. My first and go to gadget review channels 👍
Yeah and no expandable storage on a productivity phone to me is the last straw with Samsung. Even the ultra tablet doesn't have a charger in the box. Wtf
@It aint no thing The point is the lack of accessories which are genuinely important. It's not just Samsung of course Microsoft, Google, obviously Apple are all guilty of this. But Samsung was the first and the Android leader in the Western market. They deserve a shitload of criticism for getting rid of a charger, the headphone jack, a case, headphones all which used to come in their phones just a couple years ago.

Dude, you should look at Oppo Find X5 Pro. That’s how flagship phone packaging MUST be. Oppo has set the bar so high that put all other flagship phones (Apple, Samsung, Google) bite the dust. The 120hz phone, the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon, Ceramic back phone, 80 Watt charger, charging cable, phone casing in the box.

Hey floss, it would be nice if you also covered stuff like Good Lock app and also how users can turn off/reduce animations and stuff in developer options, when reviewing samsung phones. If not developer options, you should atleast cover good lock app.
So that people (both samsung users who dont know about it or iphone users switching to samsung) can know about extra customizations and multitasking stuff samsung phones have to offer. Introducing goodlock and showing what all it does in your reviews, will literally take just 5 more minutes and I think its worth it.

Nice review! Ima come back to this in a few days when my s22 comes in the mail. I got the 256 GB for $50 more and luckily, the $800 was covered for upgrading the service. But I did get the s22 instead of s21 because of its size.
Just ordered one of these, in white. I'm coming from a Note 20 Ultra, and while I might occasionally miss the S-Pen, I'm looking forward to having something that doesn't pull my shorts off when I put it in my pocket :D
As for the screen resolution: I set my Note to 720p and 60Hz a week ago, and haven't noticed, so I'm not worried about 1080 on a smaller screen.

UPDATE: Neither Verizon nor Samsung had the S21 5G in stock. Samsung only had the S21 Ultra....and I wanted the smaller phone. Boooo.....so I had to get the S22.

Hey, how is the battery doing on your s22? How much screen on time do you get with a single charge?
Just got my S22+ two days ago to replace a Note 9 with a failing screen. So far I'm very pleased by it, and the 120hz display really makes a big difference when it comes to touch-based controls. Just as a side note for modern phones in general, I was amazed by how easy it was to transfer my old phone's contents to the new one. Took less than 10 minutes. Didn't even have to reprogram my Cricket sim card either, it just worked immediately. The 45W charger was unavailable from Samsung so I'm using a 35W charger which still charges "Super Fast" and takes approximately just over one hour to charge from 5%. I highly recommend the green color, the Samsung store page doesn't do it justice. It looks much better when seen anywhere but on their website. It's more of a dark teal (cyan-green) color than green.
On a side note, when I used the sim tray tool to pull out the tray on the Note 9, it flew out and hit me in the face and both the microsd and sim card flew across my room and it took me awhile to find them... the Samsung trays really do suck, it should just be a push-click-popout mechanism or something like another phone I had prior to the Note 9.
I agree with the green colour, they didn't do the colour justice. I sent photos of the phone colours to other people to get an opinion, but almost none of them picked the green colour. I then showed them the "other" model colour from a TH-cam review (I lied, it was just green) and they started saying that looked really good and refreshing

If you have a normal s22 it only supports up to 25w fast charging
@@tarekekram8441 I have a S22 plus and at first the battery was so so for the first few days. I take it that it needed time to get used to my usage patterns. At the moment I'm getting roughly 6-8 hours of on screen time. By the time I get ready for bed I'm at around 15-20%. Hasn't been bad at all for me. And I'm a medium to heavy user when it comes to media/TH-cam videos etc.
I am usually frustrated when I see a big video without chapters and time stamps. But your videos are just so interesting and honest, with the company of Whiteshoes too, that I really don't mind! The only thing I missed here is a comment about the battery, is it ok for a full day? It is lower than the S21 but is there a big difference?

Don't skip the settings. Even though I have had Samsung phones for years it never hurts to get a refresher course. I will gladly wait for the Ultra review in March, looking forward to it.

I totally agree with the presentation, I received my S22 Ultra 512gb Burgundy today and first thing I thought was it was such a minimalistic box. For the price of the Ultra it should defiantly come with headphones, SD card slot and maybe a case. I'm loving my S22 Ultra so far, such a nice phone, already has a defender pro case and soon a Whitestone Dome protector to guard this beautiful bad boy!! Enjoyed the video, the laughs and number one the real world info! That sound test had me rollin, great!!!! You rock Floss!

PS in europe most ppl buy phones on contract couple hundred plus or minus on the price doesnt make a difference in somebody buying the phone in most cases. quality of the phone matters more.ill get the buds for free so is good anyway.

And battery life is the most important thing of a phone. Can't believe a 3700 battery with a slow 25w charging. The competitor of S22 is Xiaomi 12. It has 4500 battery and 67w charging.

@@elizabethpalma318 increases battery life, it's not good for battery to discharge it completely or to charge it to 100%, keep battery between 20-80% if you want to prolong it's life

Samsung messed up by giving me four years worth of updates lol plus MKBHD says the vibration motor ain’t all that, how do you feel about the vibration motor on the S 22?

It's just so weird how the base model for the s22 series such as 128gb internal storage and 8 gb ram is the same as my s10 except I can expand my phone memory. I really wish that they bring expandable storage background

@diabloa.1700 well the s20 and 21 should be cheaper now. I buy my phone straight out.i traded my s10+ for a zflip 3 and paid 670 but i got a wireless charger and a Samsung tag with it...then i traded the flip 3 for the 4 and got a watch and buds for 620...so pick a 1000 phone and trade in you 10 directly from Samsung it should make it 800 or 900. If thats too much. Buy one off Amazon for 600 or 700...you really need to spend once and your in there with upgrades

Been using the S22+ for 2 days and it's super fast. No lags so far. However not sure battery better than my pixel 6. I do miss the pixels features like screen call, assistant hold, and many other exclusive features. I'll see how it goes, but so far is good.

Most reviews say nothing about the improved modem over the past few years x50 to x55 x60 x65 ect. It is HUGE as far as connectivity to LTE and 5G network bands. Now they are incorporated into the CPU instead separate like on the note 20 ultra and prior and are absolutely monumental for good reception and speed. One of the most important features taken for granted and never reviewed. This phone with series 8 gen 1 has the most advanced modem to date for excellent connectivity and speed in the most remote places.
I say dont skip over the setting.

Hi Flossy, thank you for the great review. I have a s20 plus with a small defect on screen, no cracks, so I am trying to upgrade before it gets worse. Should I go for the regular degular s22 for $341 with trade in?
I say go for it, keep in mind you will not have microsd card storage in the s22, so I'll be holding onto my S20

June/2022…..For the second time in a couple months, I’ve revisited a Flossycarter video. I have att and currently I have the 13promax, Apple Watch 5 and z3 flip. Got a loose line with an old note9 that I no longer play with. Att is willing to upgrade my note 9 for this s22. I'd recommend dividing the video in segments and let viewers know them so we can skip to those. For instance, I'm extremely interested in battery life which is the biggest issue with this phone. Instead of watching 40+ minutes, I could just skip to the section I'm interested in.
I still over my S10+. in 2 years it has functioned perfectly 100% of the time. It's perfectly snappy and everything feels instant, so the tech is hitting a threshold of human perception. I'm upgrading to the S22+ anyway. I'm thinking it might be nice to use a flat display for a change.
Did you ever upgrade to the s22+? I've also considered getting an s22+ and I'd be coming from the s10. Would you say it was worth it, or would I be better off waiting?
Love the reviews as always. For now, I'll stick with my s21 ultra. Been a decent phone. I bought it for the cameras. I had to get the phone replaced under warranty. Main camera went bad. One thing, these phones are heavy. You feel it in whatever pocket you have it in. That sound test is a bit cringe. But that's just my opinion.

I'm on day 3 or 4 with my s22 and still love it so far.
If you have small hands like I do, it's perfect and a case can always give a little depth to it.

To me it still has a little iphone type feel and some likes from it.

My honest opinion is the battery is fine. Yes it's smaller but it also depends on what your going to use your phone for all day. If someone is a heavy duty movies watcher or gamer then I suggest the next size up.
I go to college and straight to work and the battery last me all day

Floss as always great video man!!!! I ended up pulling the trigger and ordered the s22 ultra!!! Trading in my beast note 20 ultra but the graphite looks sick in my opinion and most of all those cameras are gonna be amazing!!! Add in getting the galaxy watch 4 lte for free with the credit and money for the note 20 u and it was a wrap!!! Can't wait for it it to get here and f verizon!!! Unlocked with straight talk on Verizon towers and I'm jacked lol!! Take care floss and as always thanks for always giving your followers some kickass content but damnit samsung needs the SD card back and the 🎧 jack along with the charging brick when they drop the note 23 ultra..ahahahaha!!
