I love how Lex has a "vibe" for everything and the descriptions are completely random but make sense, writing in diary vibe, old velvet chair vibe, etc
Korn is so unique. The ambient noises, the guitar squeeling, the distorted bass, the funk/hip-hop rhythms, & JD's vocals switching from screaming to melodic singing with ease. Pure talent. 💯
The first 3 Korn albums have an energy and emotional push that is palpable.

The band was actually quite scared of this song, mostly because of the disco/dance drum beat.
They knew they had a good song/concept on their hands, but making it fit into their whole Nu-Metal sound was giving them trouble.
They were also scared that it wouldn't get received as well as the rest of their discography, because it was so different from anything they've done before.
In the end, it became one of their biggest songs...

Korn is one of the few bands that has a bassist in your face! I love their first album best.
Fun fact: at the very end of the video at the party young eminem is in the video before he blew up giving one of the Korn guys dap. You basically have to know where it's at and pause it to see him.
Fieldy is just killing it on the bass. He seems like such a cool guy, I would love to meet him.
He is a very cool dude. Ive been to many shows. Back in 2006 i was in a mall prior to a korn concert to buy a korn shirt for the show. He was walking in the mall. Got a picture, had my bro run to the car to get a cd, he signed CD and got us hooked up with a backstage pass. Five finger death puch was the opening act and this was before they hit it big. Also Hellyeah was there and I got to meet Vinnie Paul, Chad Gray, Korn and got a signed poster of Five Finger Deathpunch. Such an amazing experience I will never forget.

*I think a lot of bands still generally only hand out those rare backstage passes... basically just to hot females. So, it's even more impressive that he was OK with some extra GUYS attending the after party (as opposed to only girls). Good memories, for sure. Thanks for sharing that with the world. 👍*
He was a total douche bag, wannabe rapper during the Follow The Leader era. He should have just stuck to playing bass instead of working on that god awful Fieldy’s Dreams solo album.
He mellowed out a lot over the years but you can tell his heart wasn’t in it from 2005 onwards. I’m surprised he stuck around that long before leaving recently.

@james coleman I saw the same show in Detroit. Orgy Limp Ice Cube Rammstein and Korn. I went with my 5’2 110 lbs 1st wife. We had to sign waivers saying if we got hurt we wouldn’t hold the venue responsible just to get on the main floor. They had plywood barricades blocking the floor except for 1 entrance. Korn played Blind for their 2nd son and when Jonathan screamed “are you ready” 3/4’s of the lower bowl ran down and smashed through the barricades. We got caught up in a giant circle pit and ended up behind the soundboard. Awesome experience!!!

This song is what got me into rock, Korn themselves and to buy the album back in 98. I still recall going to store to buy it along with DMX,s 2nd album. Good memories.
Love this song and it brings me back to 7th and 8th grade when it came out, Korn along with Marilyn Manson,Limp Bizkit,Deftones,White Zombie,Type O Negative,Orgy were life shaping bands for me

You hear a lot of nu metal at sporting events, WWE, and UFC. Dance clubs and bars, too. It's like industrial metal, you can dance to. lol

Growing up, I never thought of Korn as this awesomely talented band, but this was an awesome song that I used to love hearing on KROCK.

Korn is vastly under-rated! They blend so many styles into their songs, so a single category can't contain them.. Quite a deep catalog to review. Seen them 5-6 times, ALWAYS high-energy, get your butt moving productions!! Love it!!

This entire album is pure gold, every single song is a winner...one of them rare albums you can listen to entirely from start to finish without getting tired of the sound. I would wet myself if you could react to 'Justin' off this same album, a song dedicated to a fan that was dying of cancer and who's last wish was to meet the band. Not only did they meet and party with the dude but they wrote a sick song about the experience, it's a banger!

only after 20 years later can I hear just how much FNM influenced this band. The bi-polar vocals, the funky bass... the kind of "evil" tones but high-energy. Back in the 90's I never really noticed.

FUN FACT: Eminem was an extra in this music video before he became famous, you can see him toward the end shaking that dudes hand at around the 4:43 time stamp. He tried handing his CD to the guitarist Munky. Korn actually talks about this in a 2014 interview. Pretty cool

Eminem was on the West Coast trying to find a label and ended up at this video shoot as an extra. He tried to give his Demo to Munky but Munky told him he had no idea what to do with it. "I'm just the guitar player" is what he told him. Something Munky playfully regrets.
