Absolutely stunning trick!! Besides "smooth/rough" or stripper deck or any gaffed deck for that matter, this is my FAVORITE self-working card trick. Visually and mental STUNNING trick! Ty for the tutorial!!!🔥🔥🔥
After coming across so many magic channel I've to say you make the most valuable videos for us recreational magicians. They don't need crazy hand sleights or fancy moves or a forged deck but still blows my mind and of those to whom I've performed the tricks you show here. Major appreciation to you
I have watched like millions of videos on card tricks. But your videos are exactly the type I have been looking for for the past 4-5 years. Simple, not some high level sleight of hand but more than enough to get great reactions. Thanks for the videos. Good wishes and love from India❤
@centrino538 Of course not bro. It's exaggerated obviously. But yeah, I have watched a lot of videos. My whole TH-cam is now card tricks and card tricks. Sometimes there's something else.
Love that somewhat difficult-to-learn trick! I found it helped a lot when I drew a "map" of the piles, and wrote out instructions of (1) how to do the trick and (2) how to reset. I can send it too you if you like...
I’ve been busy bro! Trying to fit this around my performing schedule and family commitments. Lots more content coming now on. Weekly basis. I missed you too 😂
Wonderful trick with an even extra special zinger at the end. I was wondering about the reset and you explained it beautifully. I think after I "marked" all the cards I would go back and write down the order someplace for that inevitable time the cards got messed up.
I would never even jokingly hint at the existance of marked cards when performing a card trick. Because obviously, marked cards are totally out of question to them weather you actually use one or not.
For a free youtube card trick this is 100% one of the best ive seen. Two things.... 1... when the spectator freely chooses a card... what if they take the bottom or top card? How does that effect the trick since i cant now cut the cards under the one they picked to the top. 2.... for everyone asking the best way to reset.... spread the cards face up.... pick any random card and put it face down on the left side. Whatever card is written on the back take out and put in a pile on the right side. Repeat that till you have your two piles... then stack them like in the tutorial
How did you mark the whole deck of cards. You showed only the first half of the deck. If you show the second half of the deck, then I could have a replica your marked deck when I make it myself.
Great trick Matt!! Liked and subbed! May I ask if you are right or left-handed? I’m trying to pattern my card handling after you, but I tend to hold the deck in my right hand (I’m a rightie). Just curious. Thanks!
Yes I’m a righty as well. Usually righties hold the deck with their left hand as the more technical bits such as dealing and most sleight of hand are done with the right hand. 🫱
Oddly I feel like even though it’s impressive, the second reveal almost seems like it would point spectators to the deliberate pairing instead of randomness in the marks.
Suggestion on maintaining the stack: have the participant deal the cards as they count their pile. Then both piles will be reversed. Since that's about 3/4 of the deck, you only need to reverse the quarter you set aside after dealing, which is likely fewer than all 25 you dealt. Reversing the whole deck will restore the stack just as well.
Matt .... I learned a version of this from a Mike Breggar lecture.... He called it "The James Incarnation" and he referenced a the James Files in it. Did you come up with this independently or are you teaching Breggars thing?
Hello!!!! Please help me understand! Im not a completely novice but was stunned by a card trick. The guy had a deck of 40 weird spanish cards. He fan spreads it, asks me to pick any card. He then shows me the deck, so its random and leave the room for me to shuffle the deck. Comes back, asks me to hold the cards face down. I grab them and he says im grabbing then too strongly and shows me how to do it properly (twice). Then, he slaps the deck and im left holding my own card.
I really liked this trick, but I am always hesitant to do a trick where I mark up the cards. I think when spectators see cards marked up, they think what else was done to the cards? To do it without marking up the cards I change the setup to have every card have its soulmate the 26th card from it. I do the rest of the trick exactly as on the video and at the end the spectator turns over a pair of soul mates.
I'm going to ask this because it's a video amd camera reverses angles. After I finish marking them amd they're in two halfs. Do I put right on top of left. Or left on top of right ?
7:44 yes pair is 26 down 8:07 yes dont cut more than half and not mention card on table even we all ready show all cards diff on back. they know its not that card on table. i knew it. first time. i knew what cards was when you coun ted off
I feel bad as I'm probably the only one that doesn't like this trick too much. Although I do like the "mis-matched markings" premise, all of the counting here is not my style & makes for a long, convoluted trick. I really like Matt's energy & he does put out some great gems!!

Thanks man! I'm glad your not only learning but performing the tricks as well. That's what it's all about!
Absolutely love your channel Mark, the tricks are amazing and I love learning them to show my kids! Thank you for the content 😊
What an absolutely stunning and foiling effect . Love it.

Millions really ? Lol

Another one to blow the grandchildren's minds at Christmas. Thanks a lot.
Really cool!
Thanks for sharing a wonderful stunner. 🙏🙏🙏
This is brilliant. I have learned a lot of tricks and this is one of the best.
It's been a minute since you uploaded but this was a good one! A really great effect. Will definitely add it to my routine!
I’ve been busy bro! Trying to fit this around my performing schedule and family commitments. Lots more content coming now on. Weekly basis. I missed you too 😂
Very well done. Masterly woven bits of information that just hint at the possibilities.
That's really cool! Thank you very much for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Best trick I've seen in ages!!
Wow! All I can say is WOW! I love this!
Me too!
Love this!!!!! I'm off to make myself a deck of "marked" cards. Thanks for these tutorials.

A+ card trick🎉 Im finding many of your tricks are saved in my favorites 😍 ♥️ 💖
Awesome! Many thanks!
Thank you too!
Another cool effect Matt 👍👍👍
Thanks 👍
Thats a pretty sweet double reveal!.....im definitely gonna make a deck up and do this! Thanks for teaching us
Have fun!🤩
Love that trick thank you for sharing
You bet!
Welcome back Matt. Really missed watching your performances and tutorial on the card tricks you show. Hope to see many more.
On it!
@MattMcGurk Thanks..
Wow !! Take another bow Matt 👍🏼👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Cheers Robert!
Matt thanks for sharing. This is not a trick . This is not magic. This is a miracle. Mega cool 😎.💯🙏👍💙
Truly amazing! Thanks Matt.
My pleasure!
Thanks for posting!
You're welcome 😉
Wonderful trick with an even extra special zinger at the end. I was wondering about the reset and you explained it beautifully. I think after I "marked" all the cards I would go back and write down the order someplace for that inevitable time the cards got messed up.
Fantastic fooler mate. ❤
Brilliant trick! I love it! 🙏🙏 Now I want to unlearn this trick so that I can enjoy someone else’s performance in the future 😊
What an amazing comment c
Thanks for this cool trick!
No problem!
Definitely saw it coming
Ultimate Man❤❤❤❤❤❤😮😮😮😮😮😮
Matt this a killer card trick. Can’t wait to do the trick with someone. You and your self working card tricks are amazing.
Thank man, enjoy!
i love this stack! Thanks from France
Me too! 😂
Nicely done....
Thanks!
I flippen love your tricks. I'm not good with sleight of hand therefore I follow you.
I got you 👊
The second reveal was *so* obviously down to the cards being paired. The rest of it is quite cute, though.
Just a suggestion, once the cards are set to go, write down the 52 card sequence just in case they don’t follow your reset system
You could do, nice idea
Very Cool Matt. So simple yet so effective. Excellent tutorial. ♣♥♠♦
Thanks so much!
buenisimoo!! gracias
Amazing 👏 bravo 👏🙌
Thank you 🙌
Love from india
When you first set up the cards, write down the order of the cards to use later to reset if something goes awry and they get out of order.
I would never even jokingly hint at the existance of marked cards when performing a card trick. Because obviously, marked cards are totally out of question to them weather you actually use one or not.
Nice!
Thanks as always Scott!
For a free youtube card trick this is 100% one of the best ive seen.
Two things....
1... when the spectator freely chooses a card... what if they take the bottom or top card? How does that effect the trick since i cant now cut the cards under the one they picked to the top.

Whatever card is written on the back take out and put in a pile on the right side. Repeat that till you have your two piles... then stack them like in the tutorial
To answer 1. You are already in the correct position and don’t need to cut the cards.
the second card reveal is what made me know the trick
Amazing 😊
Thank you! Cheers!
Brilliant
Great trick! Thanks for sharing. What’s the name of the original Stewart James version?
Not sure sorry!
It’s called fourth incarnation.
Matt has added a great twist by marking the backs.
Bravo sir.
Thanks! That’s a tough one to research. Supposedly Steve Beam has another variation. I’ll have to hunt that down. Great trick!
How did you mark the whole deck of cards. You showed only the first half of the deck. If you show the second half of the deck, then I could have a replica your marked deck when I make it myself.
Use your brain... smh!!!

Fantastisk card trick 😅
Thanks man 🤩
Big fan
Thanks man!
Hey Matt
Are you going to the Blackpool Magic Convention in February?
I’ve not booked yet but it’s highly likely yes!
This is a great idea! Did you try it?
Great suggestion. It works, you just have to stack them up differently. 👍🏻
Matt .... I learned a version of this from a Mike Breggar lecture.... He called it "The James Incarnation" and he referenced a the James Files in it. Did you come up with this independently or are you teaching Breggars thing?
I came up with this on my own - was it the same?
Not even a magician, but I can see a full routine with a "when you order a marked deck on wish" topic :D
😂😂😂😂😂 love this!

I’m sure you can find this on TH-cam but it’s not something I can reveal here. Try searching. Chris Pratt magic ☝️

That works too.
Math is magical.
It is indeed 💯
I have that same affliction!? I always seem to cut 17 cards too 🤷🏼♂️😂
Must be contagious!
@MattMcGurk there's one of Joe Diamonds tricks n I 9/10 cut 17 😆
Why the dealing in a row and backcounting? Why not just deal into a pile and hand them to the participant to count down to the card?
This is a great idea 💡

Yes of course! It can be done like this. Personally I prefer to get one more reveal and the additional reveal at the end.
I'm going to ask this because it's a video amd camera reverses angles. After I finish marking them amd they're in two halfs. Do I put right on top of left. Or left on top of right ?
And *
Either will work
@@MattMcGurk Thank you.
Didn’t show marked cards at bottom 1/2 of deck
7:44 yes pair is 26 down 8:07 yes dont cut more than half and not mention card on table even we all ready show all cards diff on back. they know its not that card on table. i knew it. first time. i knew what cards was when you coun ted off
If you mess up the reset how do you get the cards back in position? Great trick!!!!!
I guess you just count 26 and put the correct card there and then keep counting 26 cards and place the corresponding card?
Just match up the pairs of cards again. Good luck! 🤞
King of diamonds is KD
Yes 👍
1:42 you placed those card and now count backward
It's a good trick, but a little complicated , and I would probably screw it up somewhere along the line .
I feel bad as I'm probably the only one that doesn't like this trick too much. Although I do like the "mis-matched markings" premise, all of the counting here is not my style & makes for a long, convoluted trick. I really like Matt's energy & he does put out some great gems!!
It may seem overly county because of the explanation. The actual performance is pretty straight forward. Hope you give it a go!
I usually don't like long drawn out tricks but this surprised me.
Ey....
RESULT: DO NOT PLAY CARDS WITH THIS GUY !!!

Awesome😮
Nice!
