Hi, the problem points to the suction control valve, it meters fuel, and sits on the rear of the injection pump, typical symptoms, uneven tickover when cold, cutting out with no fault codes, lazy acceleration. very poor Denso injection system, exact same SCV on Navara, pathfinder, Mazda 6, Vauxhall combi.
Make sure you purchase the Blue endcap SCV, not grey or beige colour

Why the blue? Mine has the grey and think its failing. 2009 euro 4

Used to get limp mode frequently. I cleaned my MAF sensor with contact cleaner and that seemed to fix it. So far it's been fine with no limp mode for months since then!

I have a 2.2 DCI x-trail. Goes into limp mode usually when I come to a junction. No fault code. I've changed the filter and the suction control valve.I have aso removed the egr valve and cleaned it. Nissan seem to have no clue and want to play parts darts with it. I am not prepared to let them just throw parts at it until the problem goes away. What I want to know is what is the use of a monitoring system if it doesn't tell you what's wrong. How can it go into limp mode without a fault code? I prefer the time when my car was broken it stopped or had smoke or steam coming out of it.

brand new 2012 D40 Navara with 4500km, 2.5 turbo diesel, issue was found to be a burnt out exhaust gas temperature sensor on the engine. Took 3 weeks and 5 different dealers and RACV were the ones to actually diagnose the issue.
Once found and fixed, car is running like a dream

Same thing happened to me, but mine has 150.000km! Got a replacement from Nissan, lasted a less than 5000km! Got another one now. Praying it isn't faulty. Any oem ones available?

I have a 2006 Navara and it has been going in to limp mode on tickover. If I put it into neutral and blip the throttle it is usually ok. Worst thing is sitting at a junction and the pulling out only to find you have no power. I came close to being wiped out by an artic as I could not accelerate.
I still have not found anyone who can tell me what the problem is.
If you do find out please let me know. I'm in Scotland.
Certainly not mechanical problem as switching off and restarting solves it.

i have an 07 RX, the exact same problems took it to nissan they told me that the valve on the common rail was stuffed $1900 to fix took it to a mechanic who had the same car and same problems and he said that he found regular change of the fuel filter making sure you dont run the tank near empty, and never use bio diesel doesn't know why but he said the engine doesn't like it, all i know is that my car was going into limp mode about 3 to 4 times a week and now i run like a dream, hope this helps

I had the same error. After a lot of time showed that the EGR valve disc
broken off from the bar. I put a blind plate, and problem solved.

wat usually happens, the turbo burns inside due to lack of oil,the problem is nissan put like a quarter inch oil vein to the turbo, which is not enough, wen under high boost it is insufficient,i had d same problem,i replace my turbo with a bigger 1 and put a 1inch oil line to my turbo.now i have no problem for some time now.............sum other frens did it and right now have abt 285whp on there 2009 d40,2.5l di

Fuel delivery problem, could be sensor, pump, or bad fuel aswell, your engine revs are controlled by diesel fuel input more fuel equals higher revs, when you have a delivery problem your engine will not rev higher, the common one on the yd25 is the pressure sensor on the HP fuel pump.

I had exact same trouble, limp mode on fast acceleration. problem was with suction control valve , removed SCV and the piston in suction control valve cleaned with wet sand paper and long term annoying problem solved in minutes.. piston within SCV was sticking on fuel demand. link to vid follows here on youtube tips on cleaning SCV with drill and wet paper. th-cam.com/video/nNmwuyAiG1o/w-d-xo.html

U must use original fuel filter. Secondly diagnos 1st looking for fault code.if there is no fault code, go special function, just do a relearn fuel pump. There u will be good then.

Nissan built the D40 like a piece of shit. When I think back to older pickups and 4x4 vehicles I have owned I have to say that my D40 has to be the most expensive worst built most unreliable crap ever. I would not recommend. Having said that I know of other manufacturers who have similar issues so guess its time to buy an old Land Rover!
