This was all months ago. Before it all happened. Nobody knew the worst GTA knockoff, yet to come out, was going to be ordered by Rockstar itself. Narc 2005 was actually really damn fun and not "boring" in the least, most notably one of the former governors of my state IL- Rod Blagojevich tried to get it banned and went all Jack Thompson against it, which wound up being hilarious considering that he later got arrested for trying to auction off Obama's senator seat.
APB customization (specially the clothes) is arguably the best thing out of that game. I wasted countless hours in that game just to play around with the editor.
I played this game a lot, I bought it when it first came out and literally didnt work. Then it went f2p so that was a good waste of 50 bucks. Same thing happened whith that old republic mmo
@@null643 im hopping that too and maybe this game can steal players from GTA ONLINE so that would convince TAKE 2 INTERACTIVE and ROCKSTAR that the GTA community is at the edge of letting this game to go but if they keep milking GTA ONLINE for a long time the community will die and the game will have no player to play it anymore because it's getting a bit pointless of playing it it's like oh yeah i got new clothes and a yacht and cars and planes and that's it but looking at the bright side APB was already an online MMO game before GTA and there is still a huge fan base still waiting for a new installment maybe we are close to it but only time well tell
I hadn't even thought about Narc in years. When that game came out, I was in Gamestop buying a different game. While I'm in there, this guy comes up and asked the clerk if Narc was out yet. After hearing that it was, the guy asks if it was any good. The clerk responded with "It sucks. I mean, uh, its great, you should buy it." *Daily Reminder:* APB was created by a studio owned and run by the guy who was literally _the_ creative force behind Grand Theft Auto Proof positive that, no matter what you do or who its for; the brains of the operation don't mean shiz without his hands 👍😘❤
Simpsons hit and run was awesome. Also the lady at electronics boutique told my grandma there was hookers in gta and that the simpsons did not feature hookers
I love how he’s cutting up grab the auto 5 haha for the title and then says the award winning “Michael Scorsese “ film! 🤣 pretty sure it’s Martin there Jakey
Crime Life Gang Wars was criminally underrated, had a great soundtrack and it was cool to see all the members of D12 in the game(well sans Eminem as he was busy doing 50 Cent Bulletproof at the time).
yeah, this guy doesn't know wtf he talking about! Crime Life was unique af back in 2005! It had awesome finishing animations and made u feel like u were part of a gang! It had nothing to do with GTA! It had a great atmosphere! The Warriors and Sleeping dogs remind me of it!
Honestly I wish it had done a lot better because I would love to play a modern game like that, it felt so bad ass seeing like 12 members of each gang going toe to toe with each other. The only thing i wish the game had was some better theft missions, the gun fights could have been better, and maybe have it so that there was more to the turf takeover stuff
The Narc one that was trying to use drug use to try and steal GTA's thunder is kinda ironic considering that GTA: San Andreas was actually pretty anti drug, at least for the most part.
@@AllThatJazOfficial I was starting to wonder if I just imagined playing it. Or maybe they took the snowball mechanic and used it in something else? Because I remember flinging snowballs but not driving cars.
@@AllThatJazOfficial That's the first person shooter game for the PS1 that you're thinking of, which they have footage of in the video. The South Park game that was cancelled was more like Simpsons Hit & Run and wasn't first person.
APB was a 80's arcade game that had a wheel and a gun hostler so you got a firing button - it even had gears, a seat, and gas and brake pedals. It was a very fun game, and was in fact one of the inspirations behind the original gta series which is why they included being able to get into cop cars and stop robbers (just like the 80's APB, but you couldn't get out of your car). Both had cops racing against criminals and ramming and shooting the get away cars. APB was very interesting because you could trigger warrants at any point of the map sometimes so it felt very open world too for the time. It's cool hearing that the guy behind the original GTA got to work on the series that was partially an inspiration to GTA - APB reloaded.
APB done RIGHT. Would break the industry. It had a great customization editor. It just needed a better matchmaking system. Shit to grind for. Balanced mechanics. Updated graphics and better net code. I was upset when it didn’t take off. It was poorly optimized for console too.
Dude Now that you said it I just remember I used to hv so much fun I still play budget GTA games like Gangstar Vegas and New Orleans But urban crime was a classic
That's a decent enough idea for a video, but I'm not sure there actually ARE 10 "good" GTA clones. I can only think of like 4 or 5. You've got Sleeping Dogs, Watchdogs, Saint's Row, Simpsons Hit & Run, maybe the Driver games? Although Driver wasn't really a "clone", more like a direct competitor.
Whenever I think about GTA Clones, I always think about how Jak 2 tried to be more like GTA. You have guns, vehicles you can steal, a meter that keeps track if the "police" are about to attack you. It's such a letdown sequel because someone at the head offices told Naughty Dog to make their own GTA with Jak and Daxtar without thinking if it would work.
Allow me to fill you in on that Open World South Park game. The game started out as a South Park shooter. But the rights holder felt that was controversial. Then the game was turned into an open world game with the puzzles and chickens with snow balls. Then the rights holders didn't think that would work either. Then if memory serves we ended up with that South Park kart racing game instead. Then shortly afterwards we ended up with some South Park reskined hand held games to quickly cash in before the rights expired. If I'm right. Sadly it was this constant licensing issues that sank crazy monkey games because them constantly bending over for other studios and rights holders kept them working at a loss.
ummm, i played that south park game, many times, on my n64 in like 98 or 99. It was all about turkeys taking over the town, it was really empty and boring. You could through pee snowballs lol - wait, no there werent cars tho, so i think i played whatever was scrapped together to sell afterwards
Was going to say the same thing, and I remember playing it. The problem is the footage being shown here is from South Park (1998/99) which was on the N64, PC and the Playstation. If you follow the link in the description, it shows a 3rd person SP game, which is clearly unfinished.
I mostly agree on the “South Park games are bad” point...BUT if you don’t like South Park Let’s Go Tower Defense Play or haven’t ever played it, it’s actually insanely addictive and fun.
The Getaway was an actually decent GTA knockoff for its time, although it doesn't really hold up so well anymore, and the healing mechanic was pretty comical (leaning against a wall and breathing heavy).
Aww APB you were so close... I have a big soft spot for this game because it had so much going for it, but the execution of all of it was so poor. When it originally released I was HYPED for it. Then it came out and for whatever reason my code that came in the game box didn't work to get into the game, this was before I had a car to return it to the store and the game wound up sitting on a shelf for a while then there were issues with the servers or something and the game shut down...I don't exactly remember what but I know that I was really sad to hear it was shutting down. Fast forward a few years and it got it's f2p release and I had to try it even though I had heard it was not what it should be. I played probably a dozen hours and was left with the taste often gotten from F2P games of, spend money to really play the game. But what was there for free did not do it well enough to warrant spending any money unfortunately. Damn I really do need to start making my own videos again.
Apb back in 2014 was actually a load of fun, and as a 17 year old in highschool, playing on my shitbox PC that I bought with my $8 an hour job it was one of few games I could run moderately well. It definitely hit different, I wouldnt even say its a GTA clone. The only similarity is that you can steal cars, roam a city, shoot people, and there are cops (except they are playable characters), if this is what makes a GTA clone, then thats some pretty vague criteria.

The only thing you can not find on the Internet is an honest ad for a mobile game. You could find glow in the dark watermelon pajamas for your cat, but an ad that 's true to the game? No way, they don't exist.

Michael Scorsese also did a sequel. He was going for Gangs of the Sea, but ended up going with Pirates of The Caribbean
I think I'd be more funny if he got caught using drugs.
Love the Narc game!!!
I actually had fun with Narc back in the day. Doing drugs to get different powers was a pretty decent mechanic.
Narc was actually fun and dark. Played it on ps2 when i was a kid n didn't know shit about drugs.

APB customization (specially the clothes) is arguably the best thing out of that game. I wasted countless hours in that game just to play around with the editor.
Amen to that! I feel like not enough people know about it.
I think this game deserves to be revived a bit
I played this game a lot, I bought it when it first came out and literally didnt work. Then it went f2p so that was a good waste of 50 bucks. Same thing happened whith that old republic mmo
nothing compares to APB's customization!!! Almost all of my uploads are on APB
I mean, uh, its great, you should buy it." And with that ringing endorsement, a copy of that game was sold.
I could find 20 bad clones in 10 minutes, you could make a video about games that are good clones, since they'd be helpful. But anyways, i appreciate that you bring cool videos for us.
Like why they dunking on APB? That's actually a decent game for how old it is. Like if it was remade that would awesome. I played that for long while as a kid. Vs how much I hate gta online.

I gotta say tho, the car damage physics in driver 3 were awesome for it's time. I actually had alot of fun playing that. Yeah it was kinda boring but something about it was entertaining.

Best title for one of these clones on google play: "Dude Theft Auto"
It's more like a dude simulator clone rather than GTA

DTA sounds like a parody of GTA 5 but more childish
The best title for GTA clones on mobile is PAYBACK 2

Simpsons hit and run was awesome. Also the lady at electronics boutique told my grandma there was hookers in gta and that the simpsons did not feature hookers

Crime Life Gang Wars was criminally underrated, had a great soundtrack and it was cool to see all the members of D12 in the game(well sans Eminem as he was busy doing 50 Cent Bulletproof at the time).
That was my game lmao I rocked it out
That was my shit played that game all the time I don’t think this tuber knows what he talking about
yeah, this guy doesn't know wtf he talking about!
@@Satanic_Dude true, unfortunately the dev studio went bankrupt not long after that game came out.
The Narc one that was trying to use drug use to try and steal GTA's thunder is kinda ironic considering that GTA: San Andreas was actually pretty anti drug, at least for the most part.
Wait wasn't that South Park game a N64 game? I swear I remember playing a game like that as a kid...
Yeah I thought so too!
yes, it was, but it wasn't open world. There were levels, and it was more or less a FPS. It even had a dedicated split screen multiplayer.
I'm assuming they're showing footage of that because the game he's talking about was never made.
I remember the game too

I wish they remade that game. I loved 70s New York. The 2006 rendition of NY was the closest thing to Liberty City before GTA IV.
I mean I think I had fun with South Park Rally. Respect my authoritah!
There is also "District Wars" - made by Teyon - the guys who later did Rambo and Terminator games.

I like how the Konami game looks. It’s gritty and it has a Silent Hill vibe to it
APB was a 80's arcade game that had a wheel and a gun hostler so you got a firing button - it even had gears, a seat, and gas and brake pedals.
I remember that arcade cabinet! It always seemed to show up at out of the way locations like the county fair, back when county fairs had arcades🙂

The GTA Clones on the mobile app have decent gameplay, but they have ads literally every 30 seconds.
APB done RIGHT. Would break the industry. It had a great customization editor. It just needed a better matchmaking system. Shit to grind for. Balanced mechanics. Updated graphics and better net code. I was upset when it didn’t take off. It was poorly optimized for console too.

You should do a follow up video of the best 10 GTA clones. I can see Sleeping Dogs on there for sure.

Facts
10 video games no one ever asked for, but here we are.
Was expecting Cyberpunk 2077
ummm, i played that south park game, many times, on my n64 in like 98 or 99. It was all about turkeys taking over the town, it was really empty and boring. You could through pee snowballs lol - wait, no there werent cars tho, so i think i played whatever was scrapped together to sell afterwards
Driver 3 and Narc are a couple of my favorite PS2 games
Pretty sure that Southpark game did come out cause I remember playing that on the playstation 1 and it was a complete game
Was going to say the same thing, and I remember playing it.
The problem is the footage being shown here is from South Park (1998/99) which was on the N64, PC and the Playstation.
If you follow the link in the description, it shows a 3rd person SP game, which is clearly unfinished.
9:10 - This is Big Smoke's house but with low graphics .

I mostly agree on the “South Park games are bad” point...BUT if you don’t like South Park Let’s Go Tower Defense Play or haven’t ever played it, it’s actually insanely addictive and fun.

The Get Away was a good one.
Using the turn signals to show you the way was BRILLIANT!
"MICHAEL SCORCESE"
It would be really hard being the fact of rockstars budget
The Getaway was an actually decent GTA knockoff for its time, although it doesn't really hold up so well anymore, and the healing mechanic was pretty comical (leaning against a wall and breathing heavy).
Hands down the best open world GTA ripoff was The Warriors.....which was also made by Rockstar 😂
