Your excellent instructional technique is only bettered by your calmly-delivered witticisms. I never managed to finish sipping my coffee for the laughing. "I don't speak Brother" was the best, even though it caused a bit of a mess. My poor computer screen...
I have a similar cone of fluorescent pink yarn. Laughing at your comments, because I have had it for years and haven’t figured out what to do with it. Coming back to machine knitting after many years, with SR machines, and find your demos, hints and tips very helpful.
I love this technique as I have never successfully achieved a single layer rib neck finish until watching your video. I also used to have problems with the SC3 linker. Then I noticed a supplement sheet of instructions headed ‘Customer check sheet’ on pinkish paper which was tucked into the instruction book. The main tips for success are you must knit the last row at tension 10 and you must hang 2 claws of your edge weight on the end 2 stitches 2 cm below the top edge. Both are mentioned in the book but are often overlooked as our machines are more forgiving. This accessory however is not. If you need to move the weight up for a wide piece of work, also hang the claw weight by just 2 tines on the left edge of the weight just under the linkers latch hook area. Crank slowly and hold the work for the last 6-8 stitches. Thanks Sally 😀
I didn’t know you could decrease at the neck like that...!! I have always messed around with the transfer tools with the needles in hold - thank you for this :)
Love your videos, Am a beginner knitter, I bought a Silver reed SK280 , didn’t know what I was buying.and a Rubber from Sun Cheongsam. Am having trouble with yarn, It knits very small, Could I knit a sweater with this knitting machine, and what kind of yarn can I use🌺
Yes, you can knit a sweater with this machine. The best yarns are fine yarns, in the U.K. they are called 4 ply. On the American grade system they are size 1 or 0. In hand knitting terms, it is yarns that will knit on metric needle sizes from 2.5 to 3.5 mm.
Hi was there any reason that whilst you had the neck piece already on the machine why you didn't go straight into knitting the rib without taking it off. 🤔Just wondering or is it personal preference. Thanks
Yes, two reasons. I want the cast on edge of the ribbing to be the edge. Also, attaching it afterwards with the extra row gives the neat line of purl stitching around the neck line.
Hi Sally, do we do the single neck band for the front piece and then the back piece and join together or do we join the two shoulders so that the front and back neck shaping make a continuous neck and do one continuous neck band? Thanks
I have tried this now several times on scrap and on garments but have found that if the pattern calls for more than one row in between each neck edge decrease there are holes along the edge.... unless I am doing something wrong here
@@sallybutcherskalamundakrafts It’s if there are decreases every 3rd row, it’s a bit temperamental (but it works) every alternate row, but not every 3rd row. But like I say I am more than likely getting it wrong somewhere so would be interested in what your sampling comes up as
If it is possible, try on a different device. I find that I am perfectly audible on my Ipad, but I can barely hear myself on a Kindle device, even with the volume turned right up.

I’m glad you like the comments. I have a traditional dry British sense of humour and not everybody “gets” it!
Thank you sally I’ve learnt so much this last week from you! X getting there again 😊x

Thank you so much. I learnt a lot cause I did not know how to a neckband
Are you able to post a video on casting off around the neck bend. That is where I struggle the most.
hi, can you explain what you mean?
Perfect!
Love your videos,
Am a beginner knitter, I bought a Silver reed SK280 , didn’t know what I was buying.and a Rubber from Sun Cheongsam.

A young girls hat would be nice in that pink color!

Do you have a link to the other video pls?
Hi I love the cral color yarn you are using, can you please tell me where and what type of yarn are you using?
Thanks
It came from Yeoman Yarns in the U.K. it’s their Cashmilon acrylic, sorry can’t remember the name of the colour!
Please tell the name of this wool.
@@KnittingStudio this was some time ago, and I think it was “Cashmilon” 4 ply acrylic, from Yeoman Yarns, who are in the U.K.
Can i use singner lk 360 with your design.thank you
Yes, you can.
Si puo mettere sottotitoli in italiano grazie

Hi, for a sweater you join one shoulder and knit the neck all in one piece. For a cardigan, you can join both shoulders.
Is this a new machine you are using or old
I purchased it new in 2013.

Thanks for this feedback Jason. I will need to sample it.

I love your videos but you speak very softly and I can barely hear you, even with earphones.

I agree, I can't hear it either, looks like it would be a great lesson and I would love it hear it.
your voice has gone..
I can still hear it - please check your device.
