I'm so happy I found your videos. You explain everything so well (very beginner friendly). After watching this, I'm not afraid to practice a single motif for a sweater I want to make for my new baby niece. You are my new best friend!
Thank you so, so much. The instructions on the help string were awfully unclear and I didnt understand what it was needed for. Thank you so much! I could cry, I struggled with this for a whole day
Exactly what I was looking for today, as I've been practicing using the pattern cards. I wondered what all the attachments I have were for... (so lucky to have them). I thought the "stray" stitches looked like little hearts and were part of the pattern until you said they weren't. Thanks for a great video, no doubt will watch several times before my head "gets it".....all the best Caz
Hi Sally, If I still lived in Ocean Reef I would come and visit you. However, I am off to a local machine knitting group tomorrow. Hope to get some info there. I will take my machine for them to try. Regards, JennyB
Thank You for this. Have done this a few times about 30 years ago.I have the SR700. Must try again now that I have seen this. Just found you today will binge watch. You do a good job of teaching. Please continue. Thank You
Hello Sally I was recently given a knitting machine by my neighbor the machine is a Singer memomatic 700 and it looks exactly like yours the only problem with this is that I dont have the book that goes with it so I am not sure how to choose the apropriate dial on the carriage when I knit without the pattern and with the pattern can you let me know what the meaning is on the dial ( T, SI, AL, o,AF) thank you for sharing your nice video.
Hi Marie, you can download a free copy of the instruction book from machineknittingetc.com. The settings on the dial from left to right are tuck, slip, stockinette (and weaving), punch lace and Fairisle.
I have a 322, it includes a magic cam set but they look different. I bought my machine second hand so the accessories weren't complete, so it is missing the left cam, I wonder if these type of magic cams would fit my machine...
Hi Sally! I saw from another comment that these cams aren't compatible with the sk155 but you can manually select needles to do a single motif. I've tried this before but get really long floats when manually moving the needles. Is there a way to avoid that?
Hello, I have just bought a singer 321 and tried all methods to cast on but my machine just ties the yarn around the brushes or misses many stitches and leaves a hanging loop. The machine has just come back from a complete overhaul but I just cant get it to cast on. This is one part I like; Part 4 at 7:20. Any ideas please? I have also tried to follow your videos but to no avail. th-cam.com/video/vN4VJfgCA7Q/w-d-xo.htmlsi=SX9C_Z9SLTK2N7Y6 Sorry to post this here but it took a while to find one of your videos. @@JennyB-oj6sk this guy is using a different machine, it’s an old push button model, therefore not directly comparable to the 321. In the Machine Knitting Beginners and Returners Circle on Facebook you can find all of my tutorials. At the point you indicate on the video, the knitter has all his needles out to D position. If the Russell levers on the front of your carriage are at II, they will knit back. If the levers are at I, they won’t knit. Is there a knitting club near where you live? Finding a fellow knitter might help you.
It depends on where you are located, and if you have a Silver Reed dealer in your location. There are also plenty of second hand used models on eBay, but be very careful what you buy from there.

I’m glad you like them.
Thank you. It is very interesting. I wish I could get started instead of it tangling underneath. Can't wait to get started
Это действительно лучшее видео по вязанию мотива. Спасибо.

This is one of the most informative single motif knitting videos I've watched. Thank you.
Thank you very much

Thank you
Finally I got a simple video of this single motif, Thanks Thanks 😊
Good job, I have always wanted to do motifs, I didn't feel confident, now I do, he is cute.
Thank you Rhonda
So helpful! Can I ask would you need the point cams if you’re doing a fair isle hat for example? Where the pattern goes from side end to side end?
No, you don’t need the magic cams either.

Can I use these on the chunky silver reed? thanks for the video, really instructive
No, unfortunately not. The only way to knit a motif on the SK155 is by manually selecting the needles.

Hi Irinea, I can’t be 100% certain, but I think the bigger square cams will work on your machine. Sorry I can’t help more.

Do you mean floats across the back of the motif, or floats elsewhere? The sides of the motif must be tied with a spare thread
Very nice. Thank you very much 😘🌹💋👌
Ah, I see you found it!

Hi Sally, which series has the Teddy bear punchcard, please?
The newer machines have a teddy, certainly the SK280, but I’m not sure exactly when it changed, sorry.
@@sallybutcherskalamundakrafts ah, so it wasn't part of a series, it was included with the machine...
@@knit1924 yes, it’s part of the basic set supplied with the machine. You will probably find it on machineknittingetc.com
I still have a problem. Whenever I try to do this, it skips a "pixel" in the design. Always skips one. Not sure why at all ;(
