    I watched your other trip Chicago to Emeryville. I booked, but long story short, it got cancelled the day of. I never rebooked. I have to pick another time of year to rebook. You make it look so easy.

      @Sojournies  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh no! And yes it is so hard to know which one can get cancelled. This one got cancelled for me last year so I had to rebook lol

    FYI, the town you stopped in, in North Dakota. Minot, it is pronounced “My-not”.
    No big deal, just so you know for the future on how to pronounce it correctly. Great video!

    How expensive was the train cabin? I’d love to do a rail trip across the US and Canada and your videos are inspiring me to take the leap.

      The price varies wildly, generally booking early, on weekdays, and not around holidays makes for the cheapest tickets.

    It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop.

    I am thinking of Empire Builder Coast Starlight to California Zephyr loop from Chicago? Can u advise a direction? Chicago West to SF, North and then Emp Bldr East back to Chicago or go the Other Direction? It will be for the scenery, which wud be better veiw? Wud FALL be good or wud u prefer Summer? Wud it be a okay in Coach? As Solo and roomette is pretty expensive for 1 person?

    How was the shower? How many hours of uninterrupted sleep did you get on this train? Lastly what was your favorite meal on this train?

    • @Sojournies
      @Sojournies  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I talked about the shower in the video! And I slept fine and I don't think I had a favorite meal but I loved the cheesecake

    great video...would love to meet you on a train..we seem to travel alot alike... I do like talking to other travelers in the dining and observation car..but treasure those times leaning back in my roomette,leaning against the window, closing my eyes while the sun warms my face and a book in my hand. Hope to see you down the rails one day... I did the California Zephyr solo in October. And it was so beautiful and would love to do it again. But don't know if I could have the same amazing trip

    Just found you through the algorithm! Your editing, music choice and personality all go together so great! I'll be traveling solo in a few months so I've been a bit nervous about it but this makes me feel a lot better about the trip! Thank you so much for your sharing, the shots you got were really beautiful.

    I took day trips on Alaska RR - not part of Amtrak. Very scenic! Do I need a layover day between. Legs? I very heard "Trains are always late?" 1 missed train wud throw entire vaca out of sync? But don't really want to spend time in San Fran or Seattle? Those once nice proud cities are now. Not as nice as they used to be... I lived in California in the '80s, would never live there now!

    I love train travel. Best night's sleep, hands down! I've done most of my travel outside the US, but have always wanted to do a sleeper cabin on a US cross country trip. What's been your favorite route in the US?? TFS ♥️

    I love trains. I spent 24hrs riding a train in Africa on top on iron ore. So this train would be like a 5 star for me.

    I will be traveling in a sleeper car for 46 hrs next month. Coming from a big city I am concerned about security. What was that thing that you placed under the door...it looked somewhat like a doorstop....? Was that to keep someone from opening the door from the other side of the door? Does Amtrak provide this ?

    • @Sojournies
      @Sojournies  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi!! Security has been good in my experience. That was a door stop alarm but tbh it's not 100% necessary - I tried it out to see how it would work but the roomettes already lock from the inside and are very secure. Amtrak does not provide the door stop alarm but I have a link to it in my Amazon Storefront
