Dude! Yes! I'm so glad you guys watched it. One of the best action films ever! There's definitely elements of this film that inspired the John Wick series!
Whoa this is a big surprise. I love this movie, surprised anyone would react to it tho. Dope. And yes, a big reason for that is the actress playing the little girl. She does sooooo well with such an emotion-heavy role.

As many has already said, this movie is the best action movie i have ever seen. Not just for the actions but at the end scenes i was TEARING up i never do that wtf. This movie is a must for everyone. Ive watched it 5 times atleast and i love this movie.
FYI in korean. the movie is titled "ahjussi" which is how the girl called/addressed the man. "Ahjussi" could also be interpreted as "Mister" (as the subtitles)

The first movie I remember seeing those two together was JSA (Joint Security Area). However, Shiri was my first introduction to Korean Cinema. I've been a fan every since.
The girl in the movie was played by Kim Sae-ron. This was maybe her second or third role. Her first role was actually only the year prior called A Brand New Life and where she played the lead who struggled with the fact that her father abruptly dropped her off at an orphanage and left. But this movie was her breakout. Most of her roles soon after this would be as a girl who was highly troubled and/or placed in serious peril. I think that, eventually, she was able to branch out into lighter, but I have not been able to track down a lot of her more recent stuff. There was an Indian remake of this movie called Rocky Handsome. It was...okay.
The main actor Won Bin, at the height of his popularity, retired right after this movie. I second the other recommendations in the comments, especially The Chaser, and Memories of Murder. But for a movie with tons of violence and over the top action I'd recommend is The Villainess, check out the trailer for a taste of the action.

I've noticed that this version of the film has much different subtitles than the one I watched. As a Korean speaker would you say that's due to a mistake in translation, or the lines simply being interpreted differently?
Great reaction. Consider each of the group of guys got knifed/grabbed and died instantly, and 'English' (a good character when it counts it seems) lasted almost a minute when a deadly fight is decided in moments.
Love how raw the violence was, like him biting “English’s” wrist when he was fighting him. You jus don’t see that anymore in movies. Maybe American movies anyway.
just a recommendation. not a reaction request. martial arts comedy/drama movie that came out earlier this year called The Papers Tigers is now on Netflix. just a really fun movie all around with some really great fight choreography throughout. definitely one of the more underrated/undiscovered gems of 2021 so far.
I'm a South Korean woman. It's not because it's my country's movie in Korean movies, but it's one of the top three movies that's fun to watch whenever I see them. A father who lost his wife and daughter, or a father who wanted to save the life of a precious child, chose the wrong person (smile) for a murder weapon agent, a 1% elite unit in Korea. It's a really cool scene. I sympathized with his anger in cruelty. I caused anger when I saw them work as slaves to drug manufacturing and distribution. The last scene was sad.

I think her age's about same as his daughter, so he feel sympathy for her. anyway... this movie is action movie, so story isn't most important thing in this movie. most of Koreans are agree that his motivation in this movie is weak but did not care. ;)
Oh the next reaction should be 'I Saw the Devil', the graphic violence might be beyond you can handle if you think it's at an apex in this one though (think brutal in caps B-R-U-T-A-L)...but the movie will make you think afterwards just like this one still. As for the child actor performance, also try 'Train to Busan', the little girl in the ending scene from that movie has been known to make grown man bawl like a baby-
I used limewire back in 2010 saw the title and downloaded. When I say I never forgot this movie. I never forgot it. Plus I'm not into Asian cinema like that.

The Hollywood movie John Wick was kinda remake of this movie, but tbh this Korean version was still the best. It's so unique and stylish.

외국인분들이 한국영화나 드라마를 보게되면 제일아쉬운부분은 한국어의 언어유희를 느낄수없다는게 젤아쉽다ㅜㅜ
한국어는 다양한 감정표현이나 단어들 같은단어라도 뜻이 다른 언어들이 엄청많은데 그걸 오롯이 전달할수없다는게 가장 아쉽다😭

Korean filmmakers do not mess around with their revenge movies. Chaser, Man From Nowhere, Sympathy for Mr Vengeance, etc
Chaser is great. And since they have already seen Oldboy, they should probably watch the other two Vengeance movies.

Yea everything looks so "clean" amd choreographed in the big hollywood movies. John Wick did a good job with making the fights look more "messy" tho.
