    My viewers decided where I should eat in Quezon City. What are some of your favourites in QC if you didn't have the chance to vote in the polls?

    • @jportega9404
      @jportega9404 ปีที่แล้ว

      Trellis and their sizzling iron plate dishes, Pares Retiro for beef that melts in your mouth, Rodic's has the best tapa and tapsilog anywhere, and Art Circle Cafe have lots of good stuff, the latter two are in the University of the Philippines campus and all are within 5 kms of each other. I'm interested to tour you around these places personally!

    My mouth is watering so much watching the lechon, crispy pata and the dinuguan! Omg…😋😋😋 Can’t find that quality, freshness, taste, etc. here in the US.. not where I am at least..😩 Thanks for your vlogs… Do you take your left overs to your hotel? seems like a lot of food… maybe that’s why I’m drooling.. hehehee

      I stay in airbnb's for 4 weeks at a time. Much cheaper than a hotel room and I have been in the Philippines for the last 5 months.
      As to the food, Some things I take home with me if I know they will travel well. If I know it won't travel well, I ask for it to be served in serving bowls or plates with separate utensils and then I give it to street children, security guards or Grab drivers.

    I'm hungry bro. Watching you eating. Lechon kawali for me is so delicious, lunch and dinner for me with rice. Im filipino rice is life for us.

    • @PureDetour
      @PureDetour  ปีที่แล้ว

      That was a lot of lechon Kawali. The mastasa and buro were an very nice touch to it as well

  • @Mhike177
    @Mhike177 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Soy sauce vinegar calamansi dip for lechon works better because it cuts through the fat. That’s why I also prefer that dip over mang tomas. Although mang tomas is what many Filipinos grew up with, that’s why many prefers that as the sauce. It is also used when repurposing/recooking leftover lechon, so it is why many prefers that combination. It is what Filipinos call lechon paksiw.

    • @PureDetour
      @PureDetour  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I have seen lechon paksiw and never knew what it was. Now i know and I will be on the lookout for it

  • @darrylk808
    @darrylk808 ปีที่แล้ว

    A kilo of lechon, that's over 2lbs!! 🐷😂 Can I have some? Drooling!🤤
    The first two places you're wearing the same shirt, so unless you have lots of balck shirts you ate 1/4 a pig in one day!🤣 You probably travel with a film crew that needs feeding.😂😂😂

    • @PureDetour
      @PureDetour  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There was no way I could eat all of that in one sitting so I ended up with leftovers. lol. Habanero Kitchen bar only sells it 1 kilo at a time. I couldn't buy a 1/2 or 1/4 kilo lol

    Yep Philippines have the best crispy roast pigs from lechon to crispy pata Anthony Bourdain was right on the money! Soo many other choices out there.
    The soup you had at Elars is the Sinigang soup which was rated the Number 1 vegetable soup in the entire World in the 2021 Taste Atlas Awards and the sour taste comes from the tamarind base of the broth. Enjoy!
