I love tracking your hikes. At 72, I am getting more and more into hiking in our amazing mountains. Your videos help me to check out new possibilities. Tonight I am driving up to Glacier. I will sleep in my car and hike Heliotrope Ridge to the base camp for the Koma Kulshan Baker ascent. Most early fall I have been doing a day hike up Railroad Grade on the south side of the mountain. I thought I would try another side this year. I love getting ONTO the mountain, which is very different from have a distant view.
@@GrimmJaw496 My husband and I did Yellow Aster Butte the week prior. We slept ut there - got engulfed in a cloud so we didnt bother going up to the Butte but it was so special to be in the camping area - just us - for so many hours. It was the deepest silence I have ever experienced. I did Chain Lakes Loop by myself a couple of years ago and want to bring my husband up there. We hope to get in one more overnight somewhere before the season closes.

I did Chain lakes last week and it was glorious! fall is the best time to be up at Baker.
