  • This is a #vlog of when Alex from Trailertrek came to fit my new Witter detachable towbar to my car.
You can see there's a lot to it as he takes the back of my car to pieces - I certainly wouldn't try this myself!

If I was the the installer I would use lock tight on all the bolts for extra piece of mind.

I have a Nissan Qashqai 2019 version with all the sensors,
I did my research on You Tube as I wanted to fit it myself because the average cost was £650..😒 and wanted to fit my own and save £500..
However after watching You Tube installations I decided I would have it fitted..
I contacted TrailerTrek as they will do a home installation, and have to say they blew my mind with the technology today, and were brilliant on the phone and extremely professional,
AND on watching this video totally reinforced my decision to get TrailerTrek in to install the towbar and electrics..
This engineer is not only slick but new his job inside out..!!
Many thanks for sharing this video 👍

Thanks, Steve, yes I thought it was quite interesting - a lot of work, though!

I hate watching people dismantle cars! It always looks brutal!
Ours was fitted at a garage, so we left them to it 🤦🏻‍♂️
A point to mention, this is a modification to the car, don’t forget to inform your insurance company.
Thanks for showing your naked rear Honda 🤪

£650 omg. I did my own, took me 3 hrs. Easy. £ 160 for towbar and electrics.

Wow! Well done! I was happy to delegate it, though, would have been well out of my comfort zone.

Me too, didn't enjoy the electrics though, certainly not as painful as paying 620quid, the car was only 500 lol

Hi Paul, thanks for watching. It's a 1.6 diesel Honda HR-V it can tow up to 1400kg and the caravan has been up-plated to 1300kg MTPLM. I plan to do a vlog in weights soon as I've recently been to a public weighbridge and am about to go again. Cheers.

Thats a lesson how to not wire a towbar ...always should use dedicated wiring harness

Agree totally, not worth the risk especially with modern CANBUS sensitivity. Cutting in and using bypass relays is not always the best solution, just the cheapest.
