- Here is the story about a very special guitar restoration .... You can see the full explanation at the end of this Video. I have built this SG Style guitar nearly 20 years ago and the Guitar came back to me. The owner asked me to make a full overhaul. It´s pretty unique because of the Bigsby Tremolo and the Gibson P-94 Pickups back in the days this was not so common. Back in the days I used to play a lot of live in a trio called Multiple Choice. We had a good time and when we broke up I wanted to start a new project with my friend Matthias. I built him an SG and myself a Firebird guitar back in 2004. Over the years we lost track of each other. All the more I was happy when he called me a few months ago and asked me if I would take care of his guitar. My old Luthier Mate Uwe Schölsch from Tonfuch Guitars applied a beautiful Vintage White Nitro finish on the old more greenish looking one. I recorded the assembly of the instrument in this video after I changed the frets and repaired everything that was necessary. I also designing and building a custom made Pickguard for the SG Guitar. The assembly took over two days and I tried to capture in the video how time consuming such a job can be. I hope you like it and you can enjoy watching it. For me it was a great job and I wish Matze a lot of joy with this wonderful instrument.

Hier eine ganz besondere Gitarren Reparatur .... Eine Gitarre die ich selber vor 20 Jahren gebaut habe ist zu mir zurück gekommen und ich durfte Sie komplett überarbeiten. Früher habe ich sehr viel Live Musik gemacht unter anderem in einem Trio das Multiple Choice hieß. Wir hatte eine gute Zeit und als wir uns aufgelöst hatte wollte ich mit meinem Freud Matthias (Sänger und Gitarrist) ein neues Projekt gründen. Ich habe ihm eine SG und mir eine Firebird Gitarre dafür gebaut. Im laufe der Jahre haben wir uns aus den Augen verloren. Umso mehr hat es mich gefreut als er mich vor ein paar Monaten anrief und mich fragte ob ich mich seine Gitarre annehmen würde. Mein alter Weggefährte Uwe Schölsch von Tonfuch Guitars hat ein wunderschönen Vintage White Nitro Lackierung aufgebracht. Und ich habe nachdem ich die Bünde erneuert habe und alles nötige repariert habe den Zusammenbau des Instrumentes in diesem Video festgehalten. Der Zusammenbau hat sich über zwei Tage hingezogen und ich habe versucht in dem Video festzuhalten wie aufwendig und Zeitintensiv so eine Arbeit sein kann. Ich hoffe es gefällt euch und Ihr könnt das beim zuschauen auch genießen. Für mich war das ein toller Auftrag und ich wünsche Matze ganz viel Freude mit diesem wunderbaren Instrument.

Ich finde es nach wie vor absolut bemerkenswert, wie akribisch du einerseits an deine Projekte herangehst und mit welcher Perfektion du andererseits deine Arbeit in diesen Videos dokumentierst!
