Aaron (UO) is also a singing drummer. There are lots. But I fucking have to admit Donovan is inhuman. I want to agree that he’s trained, practiced and just been a musician for so long that he’s found his equilibrium in doing vocals/drumming. But another huge part of me is just like....”He’s one of a kind and this is just what manifests as his love for music and what he does. Truly a remarkable talent.

I just saw these guys live a few days ago and they are by far, one of the most skillful bands I have ever had the pleasure of watching live. Every member is masterful on their instrument. This song is SO challenging on drums, yet here Donovan is, singing at the same time. Amazing

Balancing powerful drumming, inspiring vocals, and still expressing some showmanship all at once is unheard of. With most people it's pick one, with very few it's pick 2 of 3. Maybe the only guy who properly has all 3.

@@drummersanonymousyep! ahh-ceh has been doing the drums for the past few years on tour, and he played the drums for divine inner tension. he switches out with donovan during the set, usually for older songs, so my assumption for the wake 10 year tour is that donovan will be on drums more!!

I saw them live and I swear to god his vocals sound better live. It seriously sounded spot on. I was blown away. (I've been playing in bands for over 10 years and have a pretty good ear for that shit)

To be honest, I thought the same, specially since I've heard the studio version so many times. But even so, he pulls both off amazingly even if the voice is a bit lower quality live. I mean, the fact that he can do both at the same time successfully is a difficult feat itself so I don't mind the difference. Just watching him go you can tell he puts in all his effort. It would be unfair to expect both drum and voice performances to be perfect anyway. Don't think any human could do that but he sure does come close!
First time seeing this band cause of a comment from another video. I think that was Surf Curse. I play the Drums and and average singer, mostly singing backup since I love doing harmonies. This band is something else. I am in Awe.
