@@justinx590 Yes and no. A lot of their songs do tend to be like that, but they also have plenty of songs where there's intensive drumming and singing happening simultaneously. Check out the Missed Injections video on this same channel.

So I saw these guys in Chico Tuesday night and met Donovan and not only is he a holy shit awesome drummer, but he's a really cool dude. Hail the Sun for the win!!!
Donovan was so humble after the show! Me and the band went to Denny’s to eat after and I talked to him about drumming and singing and he said practice, practice, practice! Haha and most of all HAVE FUN

He said he started at around 6 with a cheap drum set (that was good enough for him at the time) and his brother would teach him stuff. I can't quote it verbatim but that's the gist.

Like MIW for example chris wasn't supposed to be the lead singer but after so long of not having a lead singer he had to step up and he liked it (the feeling).

To be fair, some people prefer to stand around and just enjoy the music. I'm one of the people that typically does this. Stands in the back or off to the side and just watches. I'm not much for jumping around or anything like that. To each their own.
The thing that gets me is that his vocal lines aren't necessarily tailored to his drumming. Playing a balls-out fill while screaming? Sure, why not? Syncopated melodic bullshit during a thrashy transition? Sure.
