    I have two OutRunner Motors one is the atomic Sr85 and the other is the vector Pro angry shark the angry shark has a rollover feature just like the Sonic way I have customized my canopy and put holes in the top drilling out the actual funnel piece allowing air to flow into the Hall and out of the back of the canopy so therefore I have water cool and air cold I could also just tape it off along with some hot glue and call it good if I don't want to run that way plus it's a lot more challenging to play when you have holes in your top for airport

    I have a feilun ft011 it's a 25 1/2in boat it has an outrunner designed motor in it. I am replacing the esc as they come with a weak 30a that I think is bad so I am also contemplating getting a inrunner motor for it as well as creating a single battery tray over the prop shaft that will double as a grease catcher now the question I have is 2 fold A. Does the brushless inrunner motor have to be A "marine grade" motor or can it be any sealed brushless inrunner motor that has a waterjacket??? The 2nd question is B. What size of range would you recommend for this boat size (the esc I am replacing it with is a 150a flycolor esc) I want the self righting feature to continue to work but don't want so much torque that everytime you give it more then a little power that it just spins the boat lol. I will be running 4s-6s batteries in it mostly 4s 2200mah 45c+ or dual (series)2s batteries that have upwards of 80c power my thinking was between roughly 2800kv-3800kv motor is this inline with what it should be running??? What do you suggest???

      Hi David, you can run any brushless motor where you can get a water jacket on it.
      If you plan to run 4s LiPo only, I would be closer to 1800kv with a motor in the size range of 36-60mm or 40-60mm. THere is more boat information on the radiocontrolinfo website.

      @@RCexplained ok cause what I ended up picking was a 3670 1900kv motor from surpass hobby I choice it from watching over your vids a few more times I thought it would be the best choice for price X punch X ability to keep cool. you think thats a good fit???

      @@thercadventurer4422 that will work. The motor should run with cool Temps as its quite big for that size hull.

    Ryan, it would be really helpful if you could do a video on how to MATCH ESC to MOTORS, in reference to FAST RC BOAT like say 32"-42" size. I can put boats together, but I really lack knowledge, in the Matching ESC(s) & Motors & 6s, 4s etc., Sure would appreciate it. Thanks.

    hi ı have simple question about picking motor. ı want to build a rc boat (catamaran) and my question is that if I chosee brushed motor because of price :), which size is going to be suitable for me (775-550). boat is going to be about 1.3 metres. it do not have to be fast but it should be powerfull. the last one, can I use 5 motor with standart car battery :D (ı am sorry for my english it is not good :( )

      If ı use 5 brushed motor can it be equal one brushless motor.

      Are you going to be using a surface drive propeller? What speed are you expecting? It's a fairly large RC Boat for even the largest brushed motors.

    Hello I've got a Volantex SR80 Pro...It's a 31" hull with a 1750kv outrunner, 44mm prop, Seaking 90amp esc, 4s 100c Graphene lipo. It runs 52mph. I want some more speed out of it, would like to atleast hit 60mph. Should I go with a higher kv inrunner? If so what kv should I be looking at? Thank you for any advice😁

    • @RCexplained
      @RCexplained  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes you could use a 2000kv water cooled 40x82mm motor with a 150A ESC.

      @sethw1230 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RCexplained So that 90amp esc won't work for a higher kv? I just bought it lol...Just fyi when I run it now with that setup, there is no heat. Like the motor is cold, esc is cold, and battery is barely warm.

    • @RCexplained
      @RCexplained  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Over 60mph I would expect you to be over 90A of draw on 4s.

      @@RCexplained I had a 2900kv Proboat motor laying around that I decided to try yesterday...I liked it but it got hot enough for the thermal protection to kick in after like 2 min. Also my gps said it was only doing 41mph which doesn't seem right because that's like 10mph slower than the stock 1750kv outrunner and it definitely didn't seem slower. Maybe the gps app was messing up that day. But I did the math where you times the kv by the volts 2900x14.8=49,920. Seems very high lol. Is it true that could be wasting alot of those rpm's by just cavitating? And I guess my main question is there anything I can do to make that motor work with the 90amp and 4s? Like put a smaller prop than the 40mm that's on there? Can you please tell me what you think from the video.

      There could be a lot happening here. 2900kv is a lot of RPM on 4s. Your power system can't handle it. A smaller prop will help reduce load and current.

    Is it safe to run a 50amp esc watercooled support 2-6lipo with a Turnigy AquaStar 2842-2800KV Water Cooled Brushless Outrunner Motor rated for 4smax on 14.8v or should I upgrade esc to 90a?
