In this video you will see I rebuild 12 battery with lithium battery for Black & Decker Impact driver. And I also modify the charger from Nicd charger to Lithium charger.

I did it and my old B&D drill works better than it was new. Li-Ion batteries rock but BMS module is a must!

Just a tip, you may take it or leave it. Twist the wires after you strip it, so it wont fray. Also, tin the wires before you solder it the metal terminal.
Thank you for sharing, good for your labor. Which (Volt and Ampere) adapter can we charge the serial group 18650 batteries with 4S and 5S BMS? For 4S to 16.8V - 5S to 21.0V, the min. and max. If I can learn how many Volt and Ampere values it should be, I can choose from the adapters I have.

I'm a Huge fan of your work, I love the way you present your restoration and it means a lot to us when we are in need of such DIY restorations.
My only request is to see you restoring a Table Fan and making it run with 12v Bosch powertool Battery and an 895 DC motor, so that it could serve as an emergency fan in times of power outages who's is very important for fathers of small babies like me

With that 20A bms it is impossible for it to work. Can you explain how you do it? do the test with the battery open that the BMS can be seen

Black and deker maded quality products and easy to repair 👍
They used to be good, but now all their branded tools are subpar. Of course they also make DeWalt tools, so it's not a big deal to them anymore.
Did you secure the charging board in the plastic housing at all or is it just floating in there?
Also, how does the battery life stack up against the old battery or OEM li-ion batteries?

Thank you for sharing, but I couldn't succeed even though I tried many times. I researched and found out that the bms circuit does not work because of short circuit current protection. Could you please help me choose a bms circuit? (4s and 5s)
