A bit of a windy and wet night on this wild camp next to Angle Tarn in the Lake District. This was my first time using my Durston X-Mid 1 Solid tent and it stood up well to the bad weather keeping me warm and dry all night. For first impressions - I love this tent, the simple design makes it easy to get a good pitch giving plenty of room inside. I hope you like the video - don't forget to like and subscribe please!

Good to finally see a great review on this tent in harsh conditions. I got mine a few months back but haven’t had a chance to give it a proper test yet as we have been on a few hammock camps. Brilliant video 👍👍

I've got the X-Mid2 and had it out in end of Sept atop the Schill in the Cheviots one very windy & rain-soaked night...... I was surprised how well it performed, was pretty solid & kept me & my gear dry. I attached 4 extra guys and used 4 Delta pegs and that was it. Well impressed with it. ATB

Glad to hear it performed well for you. It is a very robust tent and I'm looking forward to putting it through its paces this winter. Thanks for watching 👍

Defo change out the pegs and get more guy lines for those windy camps

I have the XMID-2P for two years and really put it to good use. It performs well in heavy rain and moderate to heavy winds. I found that getting the perfect pitch is the key. Getting that perfect taught rectangle and pulling the cords at each corner taught before inserting the trekking poles. Pulling the cords at the four corners keeps the tent bottom close to the ground.
When it is windy, I guy out both ends of the tent.
I did not like the stakes that came with it so I purchased some 6-inch Groundhog stakes.
    Enjoyed your video.

Good to hear that is has performed well in poor conditions. Actually hoping for some bad conditions on my next camp so I can put it to the test again with a better pitch. Thanks for the tips 👍 and thanks for watching

Got to be honest, the xmid looked a bit out of its depth and very saggy inside. I have one but haven’t used it yet. Definitely going to wait for fairer weather.

Yeah I don't think my pitch helped things at all. I'm testing it again soon in the snow so will see how it fares! Thanks for watching
