Ik the 3rd one is a tear jurker but I didn't cry on how they might die and all but the 4th one made me cry because having people live there life together and now this is the thing that makes them split is the saddest thing to me and they are just so realistic compared to the toys in the 3rd one you now they won't die but it's almost like lose ing someone (spelling is not my best) or losing you friend from just going to a different collage or just moving and that might be y it hit me so hard but just me.

I can see why. I remember being forced to watch 'The Emoji Movie' and throughout the whole thing me and my sisters just made fun of all the characters and giggled like school girls. 2019 was one of the worst years for animation in film I've ever seen. We saw so many terrible movies somehow get wide releases and then just completely implode. It honestly feels like we're back in the 90s again where Disney is doing gangbusters and everyone else is just trying to play catch-up or ride their wave. What's going on here?
Every few years we hit a lull year where the larger studios mostly release sequels. I won't say that streaming isn't diverting attention away (it definitely is), but 2020 looks better for theatrical stuff.

I remember the straight to dvd Playmobil movie where you could choose your own path through the movie and my sister and I loved it as kids. Probably wasn't very good though.
I saw the title when it came out (looking at animated movies list because i was planning on watching) i was intrigued, and felt weird, but brush it off as it being a pun in japanes but dont work well translated
"I EAT DIRT" is still the funniest line to ever be said in a movie trailer. Every time I'm reminded of it I can't stop thinking about it. I saw it in the theater during the previews and my friends and I couldn't stop laughing about it for some time. I'm almost amazed that I forgot Angry Birds 2 was a thing, cause like, I never saw the actual film, but that line continues to permeate my consciousness in a way unmatched by anything else. I EAT DIRT.
So is it me or was it kinda "Sequel Year"? Frozen, Lego, Toy Story, Train Dragon, Angry Birds AND Life Pets (arguably Shaun Sheep). That's a lot animated sequels, even for current Hollywood standards.
HTTTD 3 was actually really good, TS4 and LM2 was decent, but nowhere as good as their predecessors imo. Haven't seen TSLOP 2 (And I am glad I didn't because I hated the 1st one) and I haven't seen any of the Shawn the Sheep movies. Frozen 2 was trash and one of the worst Disney movies I have seen (And I am a HUGE Disney fan btw). I wasn't fond of the first Frozen, but comparing that and it's crappy sequel is like comparing Shrek 4 to Shrek 3.
Shnica This just shows how many people believe that the ending of Toy Story 3 is the entirety of the movie. Toy Story 4 is a creative followup with emotional, heart-wrecking scenes. You could tell how much passion was put in this eloquent piece of art.

Aang fans are just butthurts i tell you. I love atla and I love tlok with its own good and bad parts, people are just nostalgic. They accept that Aang beats the firelord by beating his back on a rock (or he would be dead) but can't accept Raava that helps the avatar stabilyze their bending...
While LoK isn't as good as ATLA (that would be an extremely tough nut to crack for any animated tv show), I will say it had its own charm and cast of likable characters. Plus I like how Nickelodeon didn't shy away from the darker plotlines in ATLA for LoK and, if anything, toned up the darkness.
Everyone hates her cos her presence simplifies the themes of the show making it blatantly about good vs evil. Also the avatar state instead of the culmination of all the knowledge of the past avatar's lives now is just a power up given by ravaa.

I see Toy Story as a Trilogy Toy Story 1 sets up the universe then 2-4 sets up the concept of "moving on". All three of these has a character learn to move on from something. Toy Story 2 - Jessie learns to move on from Emily Toy Story 3 - Woody learns to move on from Andy Toy Story 4 - Buzz letting Woody move on

For Spies in Diguise, I see what they were going for, however they just didn’t execute it properly. When they were giving the speil about how “people are people, there is no good or bad guys”, they should have made it clear that some people are sick. They could’ve even brought the whole nature vs nurture argument into the conversation into it, that people aren’t born evil or good. People who kill or destroy things only do it because they had something terrible happen to them and nobody cared to hep them when they needed it most. With a conflict like this, I feel like that should’ve been the main message, that every person is different and no one has ever been a bad person right out of the womb
Still doesn't change the fact there are clearly evil people in the world, and the main characters have to face a particularly awful and violent one. Cel was right in calling Tom Holland's character more naive than Steven, which is saying a lot.
A much better line for that moment would have been, "Everyone is the hero of their own story." There are only good guys and bad guys when we agree on what is good or bad. Bad people don't agree; they think they ARE good. Even people who claim to be bad, or whatever counter-culture things is viewed as evil, are still the HERO in their own story.
Spies in Disguise was my favorite movie of 2019 and, honestly, is one of my favorite movies of all time. The characters are so likeable and the conflicts make sense. It has the perfect amount of comedy and makes you like the characters enough that the emotional scenes are truly heartbreaking. The voice acting was also amazingly done and Lance begging killian to spare Walter near the end was just incredible. I adore this movie and everything about it

Honestly, that song took me completely out of the movie. It didn't fit the tone of the movie or Kristoff's personality. The whole proposal plot and that song would have made a hilarious short, but the movie would have been better without them.
Both Klaus and Frozen have Saami people which is the first time we've been in American animated movies (or really talked about in America at all), and as an American with Saami heritage it meant a lot to me :) I wish I got ice powers for being part Saami tho that would be amazing

Slight Spoilers: The girl has pancreatic cancer, so she’s saying that she wants to eat the boys pancreas. You can correct me on this, but the explanation I got was that in the past, people in Japan thought that it might help with those diseases that pertain to specific organs if you ate that specific organ. So since she has pancreatic cancer, the title is saying that she wants to eat his healthy pancreas. Not a translation error, just culture shock.
29:15 Klaus really took me by surprise. Apart from the beauty of the animation, Norm Macdonald was a treasure in this, and it has one of the best THIS SHOT shots in recent memory. The shot where the wood carving is revealed is amazingly powerful. In one brief moment, it explains EVERYTHING about Klaus: his reclusive nature, the toys, all of it, with no need for explanation, because they built up everything to that moment. But then they spoil that a scene or two later by explaining the whole thing for the kindergartners watching.
It says a lot if reviewing animated movies on the internet pays better than making sure the next generation of adults knows basic math, that Europe is not a country, and that every nation in the world has the same sun and moon. I'm not even exaggerating, the sheer ignorance of some people is truly astounding.

"Klaus" has to be my favorite from 2019, even with the you-know-what. Not only did it have breathtaking and unique animation, but it also had a very creative interpretation of the Santa Claus lore and enjoyable character interactions. I also really enjoyed "Missing Link," "I Lost My Body," "Toy Story 4," and the Rocko and Zim movies. Loved your jab at the "Lion King" remake btw
anyone else think frozen 2 kinda repeated the first movie towards the end? elsa pushes anna away so anna pushes christoff away and anna ends up dying alone with olaf but then anna lives but olaf dies and then elsa is alone in a place made of ice and sings a song about embracing yourself and gets a costume change and then leaves that place to solve a problem plaguing arendale that she caused without realizing it, also why the hell would elsa even push anna away again like wasn’t the first movie all about how they are stronger together and their love is more powerful than evil or something
Elsa pushed Anna to safety. Elsa went to The Dark Sea, where her parents drowned. It's obviously not safe for Anna there, but Anna refused to let Elsa go alone so she was right by sending Anna away. If Anna had come with Elsa to The Dark Sea she would've died.
You’ll never know how happy it made me just to see Promare even mentioned. Its one of my favourite films from the last decade and it doesnt get the appreciation it deserves. I will admit, I... didnt quite understand what was going on but I 100% agree with the stance of “its very pretty”.

I'm glad someone finally saw how just amazing Promare was, even if it was just because of how intense the animation is. It holds a special place in my heart of showing how people's opinions can change over time, and that there's always 2 sides to a story. Also, the real world applications when you think about how the burnish are treated get really deep, and the fact that the cpr scene wasn't bait and can be seen as an actual lgbtqa+ story really just solidified my love for it.
Another reason that the Addams Family was bad, the “house spirit” always squeals so loudly for trespassers to get out, and thirteen words: my house doesn’t have soundproof walls, and I normally watch this at night.
KLAUS is my best animation of 2019... had the LEVEL of emotions, the CREATIVE animation and best of all a GREAT story!... Deserve the academy awards for best animation!
Cellspex, have you heard of the film Okko's Inn? It's an anime film that has gone so under radar I declare it's criminally underrated. It came out in 2019, but I think due to a certain blockbuster, it got caught in the dust. Please acknowledge it one day, because my heart can't stand how this amazing film is becoming an obscurity.

2019 was one of the worst years for animation in film I've ever seen. We saw so many terrible movies somehow get wide releases and then just completely implode. It honestly feels like we're back in the 90s again where Disney is doing gangbusters and everyone else is just trying to play catch-up or ride their wave. What's going on here?

Every few years we hit a lull year where the larger studios mostly release sequels. I won't say that streaming isn't diverting attention away (it definitely is), but 2020 looks better for theatrical stuff.

I saw the title when it came out (looking at animated movies list because i was planning on watching) i was intrigued, and felt weird, but brush it off as it being a pun in japanes but dont work well translated
"I EAT DIRT" is still the funniest line to ever be said in a movie trailer. Every time I'm reminded of it I can't stop thinking about it. I saw it in the theater during the previews and my friends and I couldn't stop laughing about it for some time. I'm almost amazed that I forgot Angry Birds 2 was a thing, cause like, I never saw the actual film, but that line continues to permeate my consciousness in a way unmatched by anything else.

HTTTD 3 was actually really good, TS4 and LM2 was decent, but nowhere as good as their predecessors imo. Haven't seen TSLOP 2 (And I am glad I didn't because I hated the 1st one) and I haven't seen any of the Shawn the Sheep movies. Frozen 2 was trash and one of the worst Disney movies I have seen (And I am a HUGE Disney fan btw). I wasn't fond of the first Frozen, but comparing that and it's crappy sequel is like comparing Shrek 4 to Shrek 3.

I honestly don't get why people get so worked up about Raava. I thought her inclusion made sense.
Aang fans are just butthurts i tell you. I love atla and I love tlok with its own good and bad parts, people are just nostalgic. They accept that Aang beats the firelord by beating his back on a rock (or he would be dead) but can't accept Raava that helps the avatar stabilyze their bending...
While LoK isn't as good as ATLA (that would be an extremely tough nut to crack for any animated tv show), I will say it had its own charm and cast of likable characters. Plus I like how Nickelodeon didn't shy away from the darker plotlines in ATLA for LoK and, if anything, toned up the darkness.
Everyone hates her cos her presence simplifies the themes of the show making it blatantly about good vs evil. Also the avatar state instead of the culmination of all the knowledge of the past avatar's lives now is just a power up given by ravaa.

Toy Story 1 sets up the universe then 2-4 sets up the concept of "moving on".

For Spies in Diguise, I see what they were going for, however they just didn’t execute it properly. When they were giving the speil about how “people are people, there is no good or bad guys”, they should have made it clear that some people are sick. They could’ve even brought the whole nature vs nurture argument into the conversation into it, that people aren’t born evil or good. People who kill or destroy things only do it because they had something terrible happen to them and nobody cared to hep them when they needed it most. With a conflict like this, I feel like that should’ve been the main message, that every person is different and no one has ever been a bad person right out of the womb
Still doesn't change the fact there are clearly evil people in the world, and the main characters have to face a particularly awful and violent one. Cel was right in calling Tom Holland's character more naive than Steven, which is saying a lot.

Spies in Disguise was my favorite movie of 2019 and, honestly, is one of my favorite movies of all time. The characters are so likeable and the conflicts make sense. It has the perfect amount of comedy and makes you like the characters enough that the emotional scenes are truly heartbreaking. The voice acting was also amazingly done and Lance begging killian to spare Walter near the end was just incredible. I adore this movie and everything about it
Im still a bit salty that John Powell has not gotten an Oscar for HTTYD. He deserves it.

The shot where the wood carving is revealed is amazingly powerful. In one brief moment, it explains EVERYTHING about Klaus: his reclusive nature, the toys, all of it, with no need for explanation, because they built up everything to that moment.

"Klaus" has to be my favorite from 2019, even with the you-know-what. Not only did it have breathtaking and unique animation, but it also had a very creative interpretation of the Santa Claus lore and enjoyable character interactions. I also really enjoyed "Missing Link," "I Lost My Body," "Toy Story 4," and the Rocko and Zim movies.

anyone else think frozen 2 kinda repeated the first movie towards the end? elsa pushes anna away so anna pushes christoff away and anna ends up dying alone with olaf but then anna lives but olaf dies and then elsa is alone in a place made of ice and sings a song about embracing yourself and gets a costume change and then leaves that place to solve a problem plaguing arendale that she caused without realizing it, also why the hell would elsa even push anna away again like wasn’t the first movie all about how they are stronger together and their love is more powerful than evil or something

Elsa pushed Anna to safety. Elsa went to The Dark Sea, where her parents drowned. It's obviously not safe for Anna there, but Anna refused to let Elsa go alone so she was right by sending Anna away. If Anna had come with Elsa to The Dark Sea she would've died.
You’ll never know how happy it made me just to see Promare even mentioned. Its one of my favourite films from the last decade and it doesnt get the appreciation it deserves. I will admit, I... didnt quite understand what was going on but I 100% agree with the stance of “its very pretty”.
Oh absolutely!! It's one of my faves too but with the SUPER over the top and crazy seizure inducing colours and animation (that I loved) it was pretty hard to tell what was going on a lot of the time 😅

I'm glad someone finally saw how just amazing Promare was, even if it was just because of how intense the animation is. It holds a special place in my heart of showing how people's opinions can change over time, and that there's always 2 sides to a story. Also, the real world applications when you think about how the burnish are treated get really deep, and the fact that the cpr scene wasn't bait and can be seen as an actual lgbtqa+ story really just solidified my love for it.

Cellspex, have you heard of the film Okko's Inn? It's an anime film that has gone so under radar I declare it's criminally underrated. It came out in 2019, but I think due to a certain blockbuster, it got caught in the dust. Please acknowledge it one day, because my heart can't stand how this amazing film is becoming an obscurity.
