"...or maybe not, it was Cinci."
Lmao! BURN!
Texas with a Y seam vs 1 high works every time on madden. Those split MLB linebackers always carry the seam long enough for the back to be wide open.
Love your stuff in general, but the x's and o's series is my absolute favourite. Was super excited to see you doing this video. Keep up the great videos!
Do double slants, yankee, mills, dagger, tunnel or bubble screen, & trips x drag...
You get a like for the 2000’s bears reference. Also best content out there
Absolutely love these "concept instalation" videos. As someone who never played american football in my life, I am learning so much!
I have loved the Texas route going back to my childhood playing video games on the Super Nintendo and later PS2 in Madden.
When we played 2 hand touch at the park, this was a go-to concept for me as both a passer or a target as we took turns. Good times. Good memories.
JT, I love your content. It’s helping me learn more about football, and I plan on using some of this when I become a coach. Thanks for the hard work. Also, first 😉.
Same here I love the content and would love to coach in the future
Texas looks a lot like what LSU would run using their RB cutting back across the middle behind the linebackers, Joe Brady brought this with him when he went to LSU from the Saints, wow JT tks for the breakdown, great job.
JT I gotta praise you and give you the utmost respect for sharing your analysts and knowledge of the QB positon. I tune in all the time. As a niner fan I now understood why Mike Martz wanted to bring you over to the bay. You're knowledge of offenses is top notch. Please keep the vids coming. I'm a big fan of your content. Thank you.
These videos help my madden game so much.
I love the only here for the Madden crew.
@@TheQBSchool Learning the "real-life" reads actually helps immensely!
These are my favorite type of videos from you
YESSS!!! One of my favorites. Thanks for covering this one, JT!
Very very educational. Thank you and keep making vids explaining concepts like this please!!!
This is one of my favorite concepts. I’m going to be new receivers coach at my high school, and want to recommend actual route combinations like this to the offense. This video helps (like all the others).
JT, I truly appreciate all of your content, but the x's and o's are the most invaluable tool that you provide for my HS QB son. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. You're doing a great thing giving back to the game.
What is the standard a player must follow (explicit or unspoken) when it comes to showing playbooks?
Seems obvious a decade old sheet from multiple coaching staffs ago is fair game....
Seems obvious a player shouldn't show this stuff 24 hours after being cut in training camp....
Where does that line fall?
In a pre-game interview, Charles Haley was asked what he told the Cowboys about his former 49ers team when he arrived to Dallas. He smiled and had no qualms in saying that he sang like a song bird and told them everything.
Belicheick commented on James Harrison joining the Steelers and if he had anything to share, saying that whatever he and James talked about simply confirmed what the already knew.
Football has mostly been figured out, and most "secrets" are simply code words. Bill Walsh had said through three decades that the talent level between the best and worst teams in quite slim and much of it simply comes down to a combination of preparation and execution. That is why "tap games" are a thing. That is why the Fins beat NE in week 7, or the 49ers lost to Atlanta in week 16. Even the 0-16 Lions had some tight games (12-10 vs Vikings; 28-21 one score game vs Houston; 27-23 vs Chicago; 20-16 vs Vikings again; and multiple games that were 8 to 10 point two possession differentials).
It is difficult to say how much it even matters. Study film and do your job.
Depends entirely upon NDA agreements.
Get into "Red Left Switch Tight Close Z Right Sprint Right G-U Corner Halfback Flat"... Good point regarding read progression. You actually WANT to learn to read zones or wide areas rather than specific numbers. It's MUCH faster and more fluid. Fluidity is hard to teach but will come with time. That's one of the big differences between NCAA and NFL. You're not a ratchet once you're getting to the pro's...you want that neck to "glide" between reads.
Probably my favorite passing concept. Thank you for showing us all sorts of different variations. I learned some new ones.
It's cool to see how many different variations of the same play can exist, and the way they take advantage of specific defenders.
Great video!
Love football but being from the UK I’ve not had a chance in school to ever see this side of the game in any kind of depth. It’s been awesome to learn, I hope you keep this series going! Although the extent of my installs will be Madden 🤷🏼♂️
Great channel! You are making the game even better by educating the fans as to offensive and defensive concepts. Keep up the great work, this is fun to watch.
Love this series!! We just installed the flood concept in our playbook. I can’t wait till you cover that too. You’re making quarterbacking easier for me. Love from the Netherlands!
Mr JT, I've watched several of your videos previously - this one just earned you a sub. Do more like this please, this was awesome and so informative. Best I've seen on YT.
Texas is so small!! How about an Alaska concept?
JT this is great! These are my favorite kind of videos you do! Excited to see some more concepts! Also - I know this is not your typical content, but in one of your previous videos you talked about how your HS team tries to play at "Spike the Ball" tempo. Could you perhaps do a video on how you communicate (sideline to players) and how you script/call the game so you can play at that speed? That would be extremely valuable to me! Thanks for all you do! Love your content!
Yes! An offense concept video! I remember you asked what videos we wanted to see. I replied a few things, and this is one of what I listed.
Thanks for posting this vid! I appreciate you explaining the concept
Great video JT, love the Texas concept. Keep these videos coming!
Really enjoy this type of content! Love the channel
This is my favorite concept, super deadly
Outstanding
Maybe include some game tape showing the concept? It was a super in depth video, but a little dry just looking at playbook pages the whole time. Maybe show Texas concepts working, how defenses may react, teams using motion/shift to disguise the concept, etc..
Hey JT, would love to see something on how the offence has to adjust for a southpaw QB. I've heard there is a decent one in this year's draft.
There's no adjustment necessary.
Would love to see a video that dives deep into pass protection!
Love your channel. You should analyze some XFL games. A few dynamic QBs in that league that would make for great content.
Saints have the best play sheets I tried looking at Cinci’s and there no defense drawn on there 😂
Some times teams go no D just to clean it up and focus on O learning. I can see both sides there.
The QB School yeah makes sense I like the X’s O’s videos btw can you make one on Spot Concept ?
It would be interesting to hear about on a team on defense, anticipating facing an offense that frequently used “Texas“ would prepare for it and defend it.
Texas is Texas!
Maybe not, it was cincy.. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Great stuff
Man! Ive been looking for ways to add the Texas route to my offense good looking out
This is awesome content!! Can you do a tutorial on the switch concept when you get a chance??
Who Dat!!! i love the texas concept.
Final comment 😂: Can you break down the LSU version of the Shallow Cross and Deep Over concepts from this year?
On radio shows, the Mic (ro phone) is above the nose, forcing the speaker to angle upwards, which reduces or eliminates the bothersome noise of swallowing....
I can't watch these without missing practice. Excellent content!
Now i see why juzchyck is great in west coast cause he can shift from f in base (21) to u in tiger (12)
With Mike McCarthy now on the Cowboys maybe we will see Pollard on the Texas route.
Hey coach an idea for a video/video series ... how many of these types of concepts does a typical nfl team carry... and with that being said what is the core pass plays in the west coast offense
Hey JT, AMAZING stuff you’ve been sharing with us! Thank you so much for helping me to learn more about football. What’s the app/software you use to draw the plays?
Good video awesomeCool concert lake NFL
I know you're an offense guy, but any chance you can talk about some coverages? Would love to hear your take on Saban's innovations or quarters. Or even how to attack those styles, if you saw them
What was your favorite team/coach when it comes to the presentation of the playbook? I think I’d find the NO playbook most helpful, with the defenders and all the different notes on it, but I could see how someone like Brett Favre might just want the play design and want to work it from there. Where do you stand?
burst is a funny word
this play used to kill in Madden 08
Any chance with these kind of concept/informational videos that then you could sprinkle in a live video example from a pro or college team running the concept after the explanation to see the concept in action?
0%. Cant use content from somewhere else w/o restrictions of vid.
Do you use this with your HS team JT, and if so, how many variations? Love the video!
Explain all the west coast terminology
Thanks for this concept. Ive never
Had a coach put that play in the playbook. Did you run it for your high school team?
Can u make a video explaining the phase "dead money" in the nfl?
Hey JT. I was wondering if you had any thoughts on what Carson Palmer said about the Bengals since you were there with Carson at one point. I understand if you don't want to discuss it as it's probably a touchy subject with people you consider friends and isn't the type of thing you normally talk about on this channel.
What down and distance is this usually called
Is he just talking about Texas or does all team focus on Texas and everything else are progressions. He did say if Texas is open throw it. Is Texas fundamental base?
On Texas are the X and Z wr just match up options?
What does “90” mean in a digit offence?
JT is there a software to create playbooks like this?
Many
Can you go and work for/with EA to make a better Madden game
What software do they use to create the playbooks?
Those are the real playbooks, just a photo.
Floods concept
No Patriots playbook plays?
He kinda did hoss y juke in the chiefs video
Getting ready to discuss this at Thepowderblues.com
