Thanks Dennis. I bought the Midi Commander for the Roland VG-99. It turns out not to be not as easy as the GR-55 to program. Each patch I have save without fx, then assign the CC# to the midi Commander. I have to re-organize most of my patches. Only have about 8 hours on both the midi and vg-99. Need more hours and maybe I should do a video for the VG-99 as well.

I know this is 5 years old now, but I just found it. Great stuff! I am a GR 55 user and have been frustrated by the lack of options within a patch. Just one control pedal!?! So this seems like it could be the best solution. Question: I want to be able to program each patch on the GR 55 independently, so can I assign different midi functions to each patch?
Can you help with sending PC messages from this controller? I can only send CC's. In the CUS1 setup, when I set any of the footswitches to send a PC, and go to the next footswitch setting, the footswitch I just assigned switches to CC??? I can't get an answer from anyone who uses this controller. Any ideas?? I'm using the Headrush MX5 and have enabled PC's, matched the MIDI channels and assigned a PC number to a specific rig, but something is not working. When I go to a random preset and press the footswitch for my PC, the MX5 does nothing...?

I am looking to use with a looper, and understand thanks to your video that all 8 buttons can be programmed for cc commands I need. Are the two up and down buttons on the right useless? I assume this sends on all midi channels and there is no way to separate and use with multiple devices
Can this send a command over a few channels at once to different effects units ? For example if I had a delay unit on channel 1 and a multi effects on channel 2 and I wanted to get preset #45 on my delay and preset #23 on my multi effects by pressing one button on the midi commander ? Or does this send out a command to change one device only ? Just asking as a few of my pedals are midi capable and it would be great to get control over them.

Kennis Russell I know can send MIDI CC but I thought i May have seen in a forum that it does not send MIDI Notes. For instance C4. As opposed to continuous control parameters.
I found the manual online. And it’s only PC and CC so it does not send notes which is limiting for Ableton and more complicated setups. Sad I had high hopes😕. My search continues.
Kennis, i purchased this item after I watched this video..... because I watched this video i was able to program CC changes to my multi effects unit very quickly. the one thing I was hoping for would be that the LED lights on the MIDI commander to illuminate when the switch is on and turn off when switch is off.... they dont... is this normal ?? ... or... did I miss a step where the lights would work in that manner ??.... OR... do the lights only operate for PC changes ... thanks in advance !!!

Why is it that every English demo of this controller involves people showing the sounds and how to program a DIFFERENT piece of equipment or software? We need more info on what this controller does, not how to program a GR-55. What does bank change do in your custom setup? Why does no one go into details about bank change? Some other dude just showed the sounds of his axefx as if this midi controller created the sounds.
Hey Kennis...another great vid and product review! As a fellow GR-55 owner/user for P&W...I too have felt limited in accessing the built-in guitar effects on the fly, so I historically stick with only a few choices and program the GR for patches. However, that has always been limiting b/c when switching between said patches: there is often a quick drop-off in signal, so I usually stick with what the patch offers using the CTL function kicking in what I want (but as you know, that usually means either only one effect, or a slew of them all at once). This small pedal looks like it might be the answer to opening up a broader GR-55 options list, while still keeping my on-stage footprint small. After you get more familiar with the product (and the built-in GR-55 effects of which I know you usually bypass in favor of your other pedals): do you think you might reconfigure your latest pedalboard to include this unit, whilst retiring some of your other effects? Lastly: if the batteries die or are removed: does the MeloAudio MIDI controller lose all of the program information? Jim
Hi, DaveB. I use the controller with my Amplitube 4 on PC. Have you had problems with the compatibility of the Amplitube 4's pedal lights with the controller lights? I mean when I active pedals on Amplitube 4, the MIDI Commander’s lights doesn't turn on necessarily. Or when I deactivate thes pedals, the controller's LED do not turn off.
I have the same problem... When MIDI Commander sends a CC value of 127, the LED lights up on the floor but the BYPASS in Amplitube 4 turns on, resulting in the effect turning off. I don't think there is a way to synchronize the LED on the buttons of the MIDI Commander with the virtual pedal LED in Amplitube... :( @@SteepRZ

Hi: I recently bought the Midi Commander, After Make all the connection, I turn ON the Kemper and the pedal and start working great but After a 1 or 2 Minutes, suddenly the Pedal Stop Working, No Changing Presets or Turn on and off Pedals in My Kemper. I put my Gsystem back to check if the Kemper have a problem but NO, GSystem still Working Great with NO Problem. Please Need Help to Resolve this Problem. if you know something please let me know thanks.
I hate to ask you this - but I think this video is the single most informative video about this pedal on the entire internet! The buttons on the far right - are those bank up and bank down? If so, how many banks are available? I'm wanting to use a midi controller to control about 8 options per song, and then probably 8 banks/songs per performance. I'm not sure if this is the right pedal. I'm pretty sure it is, though, because it looks awesome - but there's NO information available as to how many possible midi options there are!

I am seriously considering to buying this controller to use it to modify pluggins settings and do DAW operations like play/stop/rec… etc. but I have a couple of questions I would really appreciatte if you could help me with. I watched in another video that if you assign one footswitch to any CC number this will not change if I change the bank??? For example, can´t I have in Bank 1, footswitches 1 -4 for playback controls and footswitches A-B to control plugins controls, and in Bank 2 other comands in the same footswitches??? Is this true? If this is correct it would be really dissapointing in my opinion. Thanks for your time!

It Will have a expresion pedal input and 8 footswitches. I just need to build a metal box. It Will be really nice! Thanks for your answer.

Great video! I've been looking around for a great midi controller and pedals. I have a question. If not, what would I need and how could I switch between different presets without needing to use a footswitch? I'm a bilateral amputee and i'm currently doing gigs but i'm very limited on what FX I can use. Would like to expand and be able to switch between presets multiple times throughout a song when I need to lol
I bought this pedal to control live scenes in Chauvet Show Xpress. It turns my lights on, but not able to switch them off and then show xpress just freezes on my computer. Ugh any insight here anyone??
@Meloaudio has a really bad customer service , have been writing to them for the past 3 weeks to get an update on the “express “ delivery of my midi commander but not even a single reply , any leads would be helpful
It may be cheaper to just go to a doctor and get medications for the disorder you have with getting more and more controls and pedals. Do you hire someone to play guitar while you`re fiddling with switches and stuff? I have seen and actually Know people that just PLAY the guitar without fumbling with extra stuff...... Maybe Therapy?
Steve, that was one of the funniest/arrogant/unuseful comments I ever read on someone’s demo (which btw is a great one). Since you only see and know people who play but do not play yourself is better not to tell others which thetapies they should do. Playing guitar and being creative with other devices is a great therapy. Maybe is you who should start being creative and not so conservative. Good luck with your search of happiness!

I could see this very useful with a DAW. playback, record, rew. ffd etc that way you're ready to play when you hit the switch. Great demo Kennis

How do you make presets in custom-1? I could only figure out one preset don't know how to setup different ones.
