He’s probably not leaving the house yet just to prove a point and make her life hell. Also, in some states, if someone does move out it can count as “abandonment” which can hurt their part of the settlement and custody claims. So he might be staying for that reason too😒🙄
My young daughters were introduced early on to their dad's new girlfriend. One of my daughters said something similar to your son. I too was gutted. Fast forward a couple of weeks, new girlfriend dumped him and my kids realized they have one mom - me. As they get older, they get wiser. And they can see clearer. Kids are incredibly resilient - they're even more resilient when they have at least 1 parent who seems to stay calm, loving and peaceful no matter what happens. Speak to your lawyers about getting a stipulation preventing him from introducing your kids to anyone new before divorce proceedings are final. Courts are definitely BIG on protecting the kids during divorce! Definitely consult legal about this one!!

Just be sure to document EVERYTHING and have it all at the ready. Print everything as it happens before it can be deleted, sadly you will probably need it. Hang in there!
If you're in California you have to make sure you can submit things as evidence and that the opposing party won't try to argue "two-party consent" law cuz that screwed me over and prevented me from using some solid damning evidence against my ex. 🙄
Bittany, (from a mediation lawyer) you can put in protection clauses in your mediation agreement to make sure he isn't allowed to continue a relationship between any random girlfriend and the kids. Talk about this with your legal counsel! If he's not going to care about the long term impacts on the kids then you can legally protect the kiddos!

There's a point to contest if she goes to court. That she started her channel before they were even married. Maybe she could compensate him for the times he was on the channel?
You can absolutely get a stipulation pretty much immediately that says that the children’s pictures cannot be posted. Also, that it must be a relationship of over X amount of time. And also no significant others spending the night while the children are there. Just file for an emergency hearing ASAP. Unfortunately, I can say been there done that.
Wow you would be a nightmare to coparent with. What does advising her to act like a bitter c@$t have to do with the wellbeing of her kids. She has every right to determine what happens with her kids but she has no say over what happens in her EXs personal life. Divorce is awful. I went through mine 10 years ago and realised how long a process it is and how hearts don't break evenly. My mum told me something that at the time, meant little to me, but my god it is true: "few people get a second chance to create the life they want. You will get through this because you have no other choice but to get through it. You will mourn the life you had, but you can also celebrate the new life you can create. Cry when you need to, get angry when you need to, do whatever it is you need to do to get through it and then, rebuild. Rebuild your life your way." All my love. x

Make a divorce binder search them up u literally just keep an organized binder of all the messages and receipts and everything so when u go to court u have everything together all in one place
This is 100% important. Things happen which may seem like isolated incidents. Over time many of these incidents develop into SERIOUS patterns. Documented patterns make strong evidence.

I did that very thing, I voice recorded the ex for 4 months, he now knows as I made a statement to the police and I gave them 100 of his rants which he has no idea what’s on them. 👍👍

I have been a paralegal for years as well going thru my own divorce. When u divorce someone u see a whole different side of that of that person that you never knew existed. Its too soon for the children to meet his girlfriend. He wants to hurt you. If he was interested in the kids feelings he wouldn’t do it.
Exactly! My ex introduced his gf 2 weeks into his relationship despite our mediation agreement and me begging for it not to happen until it’s was long term established. Absolute idiot he was with it all, I was so furious and hurt not for me but for my son
So right. Going through my current divorce, I have vowed to in future relationships legally pre-map everything. All possessions. All responsibilities. All assets. If someone doesn't want to give me the ease of mind that I can leave with what I arrived with, they can leave now.

I went through the same issues with my daughter's father. We had the same conversation about new relationships and he still did the same thing....several times. His current girlfriend moved in as soon as his now ex wife moved out, after 1 meeting at the park. I honestly believe they love the attention they get from women because "they are such good dads."
I always thought that there was something strange about him even when they were still together. He always gave off creepy vibes to me. I wasn't even shocked when the "we're getting a divorce" video came out.

You should make a Journal where each day, you write down your thoughts and feelings regarding this entire process, and one day down the road, when the divorce, and all of the aspects surrounding it have been finalized, and you can openly talk about it all, use that journal to share your story, things that you learned from all of this, red flags that you think people should consider before getting married, things you wish you could do differently regarding the divorce process, etc. If nothing else, it will probably be pretty therapeutic and freeing for you

Under most states and Canada introcuing a person after a legal separation is fine. As long as the children do not have unrealistic things said to them. Aka this is my friend VS this is the girl I'm gonna marry and be with forever

I was so worried when my ex started dating, there’s that fear about someone taking your place, no worries you will always be their mom, they will always love you. No one else will take your place. Another woman can be a friend and an important part of their lives. You want someone who will be loving to them but with him still living in house it’s a bit early for that. She will not like him living in your house so that will cause some issues
Unfortunately it sounds like this other women has been with him for awhile and he most likely got with her before Brittany found out about her. The other women most likely knew he was married and didn’t care. That’s what it looks like to me.

Yes, he is staying in the house because he wants it too, but he is also 100% to torture Brit. What kind of girl would date him right now when he is living with his ex? Absolutely not me!
It's really not that simple. My parents are wonderful people and both moved on within a month. With wonderful people who are now my stepparents still (15 years later). I couldn't be happier for them. I don't think making "rules for being a good person" apart from the obvious stuff helps anyone. Everyone has their own roads to walk, and I don't think calling the father of her kids a narcissist makes her feel better. Let's focus on making her feel better

I made sure I had a clause in my separation agreement that neither of us would introduce the kids to a partner until the relationship was at least 6 months, and I had met her/he met him. Always have things in writing, because we know most men can’t be alone 🙄
Make sure there is a no paramour clause overnight when he finally moves out! Fight for what’s yours. Dont allow yourself to get sick over this! Focus on you and your children. I can’t believe she would post photos of your children. Unbelievable!

Brittany I feel like you are telling my exact story. This happened to me in my early thirties (now I am 58). He would do anything to engage me a lot of times as a way of keeping control and to keep tabs on what I was doing.I remember the first time one of my girls spoke favourably about a girlfriend and I felt so heartbroken i had to go cry in the garage. My children were 5 and 8 at the time. One thing I learned from all this is first no one will ever replace momma and especially a momma as great as you and two eventually people like your ex will start to be found out for the narcissist that he is. It may take a while but karma will eventually prevail. My motto was always the best revenge is a happy life. Twenty five years later I can tell you that’s exactly what happened.
my dad dated a lot after he left my mom, lots of younger pretty women. me being a little girl I really liked them and spoke highly of them, only now do I truly understand how much that must have hurt my mom 😢
I'm extra sensitive and an introvert and my divorce was a total disaster -- harassment, stalking, verbal abuse, threats, and introducing my kids to someone way too soon. We had TWO trials and even after the divorce was finalized, the harassment continued. I saw all of the red flags too, gave him the engagement ring back twice and I ended up having to pay him. The experience has changed me forever. My only advice is to get a separation agreement and move out with your kids for your own sanity and safety and try to not internalize his anger and look-out for signs of parental alienation. It's so damaging. I feel like lawyers keep people living together until they are so angry and beyond any point of compromise and say "I'll spend every last penny" like you did. More money for them.

Had this exact thing happen to me. He moved his new gf into his house two weeks after we broke up & I moved out. Had my kids calling her mom. I was horrified but learned I have no control over how he lives his life. Had to refocus on my own life. 💛

I can see that your comment is written with honest care but I'm just going around the comment section warning everyone that immediately labelling Ryan a narcissist is not helping Brittany. For one, that's the father of her kids. My ex did many things wrong but when people outside of me insult him, I still feel like they're insulting me as well. Two - if we all immediately jump to the worst conclusions about him (when the sad truth is everyone is an asshole in divorces - everyone) it will discourage her from sharing with us again because it's being seen as an invitation to attack him. She's just sharing that divorce is hard, not inviting people to decide that makes him a definitively rotten person.

That's what I was thinking, his legal council is probably betting on Brittany not wanting to go to court because from the few (not nearly all) factors we are aware of, it appears he doesn't have all that much of a solid case. You don't stay in the same house unless you're trying to force someone's hand in some way.
My friend used to date guys that were separated but living together and I thought it was the weirdest thing I've ever heard. I grew up with "when it's over, it's over".

Brittany, keep an journal with all the incidents that accrue while he’s living with you. This will help judge understand what’s been going on. Also your attorney should be filling for you to have full custody until he rent his own place. You don’t owe him anything until court tells you to pay. Stand up for yourself

We were going to do mediation and then when he found out i wanted child support he flipped and tried to take my kids. Luckily, it ended up going back on him and not me. Hope you're ok.
My mom had great advice when facing something like a break up. Stay mad, not sad as you will get further. I agree with you Brittany...time to fight back. This is horrendous.
Start writing down the things you are thankful for each day: 3 things. It makes a difference. I used to follow a blogger on a now-defunct blogging site who was a divorced mom of two who suddenly lost her vision (retinal detachment). She always had great insights, and she always closed her blog posts with 3 things she was thankful for. Her habitual gratitude rubbed off on people, and she was such an inspiration.
I don't watch your excellent videos of tips, reviews of Amazon products, etc. to see Ryan. If you sold it, then I'd be looking for your new channel. Keep on going, stay active and busy, and be positive about reinventing your life; I think you're going to surprise yourself!
It's so weird that getting married can take minutes, but getting divorced in a contested situation can take years. Marriage should really come with a warning label or a required class on what happens if the marriage fails and you get a divorce. If people really knew the details of the divorce process and the mental toll of it, lots of people would think very carefully before taking the plunge.

Adults don’t usually understand or remember what’s it’s like for a little kid to see someone mom or dad’s dating and thinking, “Is this my new mommy/daddy?” If there’s a revolving door of “new potential parents” it’s confusing and absolutely heartbreaking. After a while they might resent new partners because it’s painful to see them come and go. “They’ll just leave anyway.”
As an attorney, the best advice I can give you... do not go to court. This is a divorce, most likely any agreement you can achieve now, will be cheaper in the long run. Wishing you strength and much luck❤
She did say though that the only way to avoid court is to give him continued ownership of her income source... that's rough. Plus I don't know if avoiding court is realistic if he is allowing strangers to publish their children online.

I went through the same thing with 2 small kids under 5, it will get better, you really don't know someone until you go through a divorce. Getting a divorce is hard, but you will get through it, you are stronger than you think.

My young daughters were introduced early on to their dad's new girlfriend. One of my daughters said something similar to your son. I too was gutted. Fast forward a couple of weeks, new girlfriend dumped him and my kids realized they have one mom - me. As they get older, they get wiser. And they can see clearer. If you're in California you have to make sure you can submit things as evidence and that the opposing party won't try to argue "two-party consent" law cuz that screwed me over and prevented me from using some solid damning evidence against my ex. 🙄
Bittany, (from a mediation lawyer) you can put in protection clauses in your mediation agreement to make sure he isn't allowed to continue a relationship between any random girlfriend and the kids. Talk about this with your legal counsel! If he's not going to care about the long term impacts on the kids then you can legally protect the kiddos!

You can absolutely get a stipulation pretty much immediately that says that the children’s pictures cannot be posted. Also, that it must be a relationship of over X amount of time. And also no significant others spending the night while the children are there. Just file for an emergency hearing ASAP. Unfortunately, I can say been there done that.

Divorce is awful. I went through mine 10 years ago and realised how long a process it is and how hearts don't break evenly. My mum told me something that at the time, meant little to me, but my god it is true: "few people get a second chance to create the life they want. You will get through this because you have no other choice but to get through it. You will mourn the life you had, but you can also celebrate the new life you can create. Cry when you need to, get angry when you need to, do whatever it is you need to do to get through it and then, rebuild. Rebuild your life your way." All my love. x

Make a divorce binder search them up u literally just keep an organized binder of all the messages and receipts and everything so when u go to court u have everything together all in one place
It needs to be kept securely online or outside of the house where he can access it. Otherwise that binder will "go missing" before the court date.
This is 100% important. Things happen which may seem like isolated incidents. Over time many of these incidents develop into SERIOUS patterns. Documented patterns make strong evidence.

Its too soon for the children to meet his girlfriend. He wants to hurt you. If he was interested in the kids feelings he wouldn’t do it.

You should make a Journal where each day, you write down your thoughts and feelings regarding this entire process, and one day down the road, when the divorce, and all of the aspects surrounding it have been finalized, and you can openly talk about it all, use that journal to share your story, things that you learned from all of this, red flags that you think people should consider before getting married, things you wish you could do differently regarding the divorce process, etc. If nothing else, it will probably be pretty therapeutic and freeing for you

Wow, I’m so sorry. Unfortunately divorce and death bring out the greediness in people. I was so worried when my ex started dating, there’s that fear about someone taking your place, no worries you will always be their mom, they will always love you. No one else will take your place. Another woman can be a friend and an important part of their lives. You want someone who will be loving to them but with him still living in house it’s a bit early for that. She will not like him living in your house so that will cause some issues
Unfortunately it sounds like this other women has been with him for awhile and he most likely got with her before Brittany found out about her. The other women most likely knew he was married and didn’t care. That’s what it looks like to me.

SO much easier said than done, but don't we all need to do that just to that if only so they don't get the fun of feeling they got any satisfaction out of their petty games!!! I don’t even know if Ryan is a narcissist, he may be a sociopath. And unfortunately either or, he doesn’t really care about the kids 😭 that has to be so hard to accept. Yes, he is staying in the house because he wants it too, but he is also 100% to torture Brit. What kind of girl would date him right now when he is living with his ex? Absolutely not me!

It's really not that simple. My parents are wonderful people and both moved on within a month. With wonderful people who are now my stepparents still (15 years later). I couldn't be happier for them. I don't think making "rules for being a good person" apart from the obvious stuff helps anyone. Everyone has their own roads to walk, and I don't think calling the father of her kids a narcissist makes her feel better. Let's focus on making her feel better
You’re so right about him not introducing people to your kids. It was and continues to be the WORST part of my parents divorce. I feel sick just thinking about all of it.
I made sure I had a clause in my separation agreement that neither of us would introduce the kids to a partner until the relationship was at least 6 months, and I had met her/he met him. Always have things in writing, because we know most men can’t be alone 🙄
Make sure there is a no paramour clause overnight when he finally moves out! Fight for what’s yours. Dont allow yourself to get sick over this! Focus on you and your children. I can’t believe she would post photos of your children. Unbelievable!

Brittany I feel like you are telling my exact story. This happened to me in my early thirties (now I am 58). He would do anything to engage me a lot of times as a way of keeping control and to keep tabs on what I was doing.I remember the first time one of my girls spoke favourably about a girlfriend and I felt so heartbroken i had to go cry in the garage. My children were 5 and 8 at the time. One thing I learned from all this is first no one will ever replace momma and especially a momma as great as you and two eventually people like your ex will start to be found out for the narcissist that he is. It may take a while but karma will eventually prevail. My motto was always the best revenge is a happy life. Twenty five years later I can tell you that’s exactly what happened.

my dad dated a lot after he left my mom, lots of younger pretty women. me being a little girl I really liked them and spoke highly of them, only now do I truly understand how much that must have hurt my mom 😢

I'm extra sensitive and an introvert and my divorce was a total disaster -- harassment, stalking, verbal abuse, threats, and introducing my kids to someone way too soon. We had TWO trials and even after the divorce was finalized, the harassment continued. I saw all of the red flags too, gave him the engagement ring back twice and I ended up having to pay him. The experience has changed me forever. My only advice is to get a separation agreement and move out with your kids for your own sanity and safety and try to not internalize his anger and look-out for signs of parental alienation. It's so damaging. I feel like lawyers keep people living together until they are so angry and beyond any point of compromise and say "I'll spend every last penny" like you did. More money for them.

Had this exact thing happen to me. He moved his new gf into his house two weeks after we broke up & I moved out. Had my kids calling her mom. I was horrified but learned I have no control over how he lives his life. Had to refocus on my own life. 💛

I can see that your comment is written with honest care but I'm just going around the comment section warning everyone that immediately labelling Ryan a narcissist is not helping Brittany. For one, that's the father of her kids. My ex did many things wrong but when people outside of me insult him, I still feel like they're insulting me as well. Two - if we all immediately jump to the worst conclusions about him (when the sad truth is everyone is an asshole in divorces - everyone) it will discourage her from sharing with us again because it's being seen as an invitation to attack him. She's just sharing that divorce is hard, not inviting people to decide that makes him a definitively rotten person.

My husband practices family law. Let me tell you as terrible as this sounds but women tend to be more emotional creatures. Its a fact that they give in and cave much sooner just to be done with it all. Don't!
That's what I was thinking, his legal council is probably betting on Brittany not wanting to go to court because from the few (not nearly all) factors we are aware of, it appears he doesn't have all that much of a solid case. You don't stay in the same house unless you're trying to force someone's hand in some way.
My friend used to date guys that were separated but living together and I thought it was the weirdest thing I've ever heard. I grew up with "when it's over, it's over".

Brittany, keep an journal with all the incidents that accrue while he’s living with you. This will help judge understand what’s been going on. Also your attorney should be filling for you to have full custody until he rent his own place. You don’t owe him anything until court tells you to pay. Stand up for yourself

We were going to do mediation and then when he found out i wanted child support he flipped and tried to take my kids. Luckily, it ended up going back on him and not me. Hope you're ok.
My mom had great advice when facing something like a break up. Stay mad, not sad as you will get further. I agree with you Brittany...time to fight back. This is horrendous.
Start writing down the things you are thankful for each day: 3 things. It makes a difference. I used to follow a blogger on a now-defunct blogging site who was a divorced mom of two who suddenly lost her vision (retinal detachment). She always had great insights, and she always closed her blog posts with 3 things she was thankful for. Her habitual gratitude rubbed off on people, and she was such an inspiration.
I don't watch your excellent videos of tips, reviews of Amazon products, etc. to see Ryan. If you sold it, then I'd be looking for your new channel. Keep on going, stay active and busy, and be positive about reinventing your life; I think you're going to surprise yourself!
It's so weird that getting married can take minutes, but getting divorced in a contested situation can take years. Marriage should really come with a warning label or a required class on what happens if the marriage fails and you get a divorce. If people really knew the details of the divorce process and the mental toll of it, lots of people would think very carefully before taking the plunge.

And then Ryan would go to bed super early, and then spend hours at the gym. I always thought Brittany was married to herself. She's such a sweetheart and does not deserve this.
Adults don’t usually understand or remember what’s it’s like for a little kid to see someone mom or dad’s dating and thinking, “Is this my new mommy/daddy?” If there’s a revolving door of “new potential parents” it’s confusing and absolutely heartbreaking. After a while they might resent new partners because it’s painful to see them come and go. “They’ll just leave anyway.”

As an attorney, the best advice I can give you... do not go to court. This is a divorce, most likely any agreement you can achieve now, will be cheaper in the long run. Wishing you strength and much luck❤

I went through the same thing with 2 small kids under 5, it will get better, you really don't know someone until you go through a divorce. Getting a divorce is hard, but you will get through it, you are stronger than you think.
Exactly. sometimes, lawyers introduce ideas to clients. It's up to the client to decide if they accept and will pursue that course. I always say, just because it's legal, doesn't make it right. Going down a path of unrightness, is disastrous on one's mental health
