Yeah, for RV you want 100+kWh battery to have over 300km, less isnt that useful for traveling RV and for primary camping RV one should just get the cheapest base and engine as fuel costs won't matter
Same here, However, it has a 230-volt power outlet, eliminating the idea of separate battery equipment, etc. it looks better than the MErc E-sprinter too, in every way, aside from the lesser range. I think the Merc has a NMC battery, while the BYD would likely have a LFP.
I’m one of the few who doesn’t need much range since I don’t plan to use mine for camping around my country which I plan to build out as a camper. In fact. I only plan to park it at a relative’s house as a permanent spot. I will keep my current vehicle to run errands. I just need a reasonable price for it once BYD finally comes to the states despite the current tariffs.
Another difficulty is the weight - always an issue with campervans on a 3.5 ton limit for a standard driving licence. You really need the AWD for sufficient speed, but it will add weight. Then add the furniture etc. and it quickly gets to the limit. May have to go for a commercial licence and the 4.25 ton option.
@simonmanners4108 Hybrids are nonsense for those who care about the environment. Bad EV efficiency because you carry 500 Lbs of engine and fuel and bad fuel efficiency because you carry 500 Lbs of batteries and electric motor.
Going to need a bigger battery, especially because I want to convert one to RV 😂
@@ianjco60 that's EXACTLY what I want to do! 😆
😂😆

I only need a MSRP for the US and the repeal of the absurd tariffs.
👍

Please keep us updated on this model for the Australian market, especially the range, battery & when it becomes available!
"electric van man" on youtube does a nice walk thru of the e vali. No camouflage. Good review
@@onetwothreefour-s1n yep I watched that one. Def recommend it for anyone interested
Never saw this coming, very interesting. Do you know when the updated Seal is going on sale here ??. Thanks
No idea. Anything I it anyone says would just be pure speculation. There are no announcements yet, or even confirmation that it will be made in RHD.
needs to be a phev
Needs a 110kwh+ battery option. 80kwh is too small
Yeah though depends on price, for deliveries 200+km is fine
Awesome EV van that our government will not allow us to buy unless you paid the crazy tariff..
👍🏻 🇦🇺
Looks ok don’t think it’s as good as the ederlivey 7
Too small battery for camper, too slow top speed for a camper.
The top speed is fine for the AWD version but the battery is definitely too small! However if it's just for in town commercial use it is perfect.
BYD hear your wish
I just like watching camper conversions so this is the first thing that came to mind!
That's why it's a town delivery vehicle and not a camper.

250km of range is ridiculous. 400km is the strict minimum
I think this might take into account the 3.5t GVM
It's fit for purpose
Primarily designed for town delivery/work van so perdectly adequate
I drive a van and I agree 250km range is inadequate for pretty much 90% use cases. A hybrid would be better.

I feel bad for the firefighters.
