Can't thank you enough for taking the time to do this video. I just bought the "S" as an "open box", never used item. A great price but when I unpacked it, one of the axes would not lock and the switch just floated back and forth. Thanks to your explanation and a 1.5mm Allen wrench, my troubles are over for now. The unit works perfectly! Seems to me that since this is a known issue (and probably pisses off a lot of buyers), Zhiyan might try to strengthen or "stabilize" :) the internal components in these lock sections. Anyway, thanks again! jp

Man great video! yup my gimbal was on a night stand in locked position with my camera on it close to my bedroom door, opened the door hit my guitar with case and knocked over my S with my camera on it bam hit the carpeted floor it knocked the little spring on the same lock as this video out of place. Fixed it in 10 mins and saved me $$$$$. Will be taking my camera off the gimbal when not in use.
I am pretty sure mine is sheared right off, os there a replacement lock slide available anywhere? I cant find one. I am a tool and die maker so i can make one at work, but i would rather just get one that is anodized
@@marqzho I have not tried it with this, but I also have the base axis not locking fully. One side of the internal locking "nub" is fine, but broken on the other, so it will spin freely 369 degrees.
@@marqzho I may have to send it in. I can take it apart, but don't want to F it up. I'm very mechanical, but I need it to work as well. A lock doesn't stop functionality, and I have it in a hard case with formed foam.
Mine took a fall too and my probelm is, whenever i lock the second axis (the same one as yours, the one with the 'this side up' tag), it only locks one side. Meaning it only prevent the arm from falling down, but if i tilt the arm upwards, it doesnt lock. Im not familiar with the mechanics inside, but do you reckon its a similar fix like yours where theres a part that got out of place and can be corrected or something inside is physically broken?

My case was that it put the gimbal on a monopod and it fell down. So In my case it wasn’t faulty equipment, faulty user rather lol.

When I put the red button back in, it pushes everything too high for the faceplate to sit flush. What am I doing wrong?

The black plastic piece with the bump. Does the bump go up or down when inserted on the spring?
i believe the bump is a detent for the spring to settel in so it goes towrds the spring

I need to try this on the axis at the base, right next to the handle. Does the same process apply to the other axes? I’ll look when I get home.
