    I just bought my Jackery 880 1000 watt. plugged it into solar panel for 6 hours during the day, brought it into my house pluged in my double door fridge 22 cubic ft. and it ran from 3pm till 3am 12 hours later it had 14 percent battery left Great Product!

    This approach is far more attractive to me than trying to get a dual battery setup put together to run a fridge, etc. Plus the added benefit of being able to use it someplace other than your rig if needed. Appreciate the in-depth look and honest review!

      I definitely think if your just wanting to run a fridge and charge a few accessories this is a good option, over a dual battery and in my opinion much safer and cheaper. I will be doing a video on my dual battery system here in a couple of weeks and you will see what I mean.

    I'm one of your budget minded viewers and made one of those solar generators for less than $200. That Jackery explorer sells for $999. I used a large Camco battery box ($13), cut a hole for an all in one panel with dual USB port, cigarette socket , and voltmeter ($14 ) , 12 volt deep cycle AGM battery ($100), PMW charge controller ($10), 400 watt modified sine wave inverter ($39). You can get a windy nation 100 watt glass rigid panel that weighs only 16 lbs for $75 with free shipping. There is almost nothing that pricey jackery can do that my box won't. Lithium batteries of course are much lighter than lead acid batteries granted. It runs my 12 volt compressor refrigerator and charges anything via the USB ports. The AC inverter is nice for small appliances that need 110 volts. Most of these parts are from eBay, battery and case from Walmart. The box is not much bigger than your jackery but weighs a lot more (45 lbs vs 22 lbs). Sorry I had to weigh in when I see such an expensive item that was pretty easy to make yourself. This box can be easily modified if you need a full wave inverter with a higher wattage. An optional wattmeter can also be installed if you need to see the power consumption of your draw. The windy nation panel seems to charge my battery much faster (3 - 4 hours) as it has a higher output than the jackery panel.

    One of the things I liked most about your channel was the photography. I'm an amateur photographer, who actually sells my stuff, and likes to camp in spots off the beaten path just for the photography. In fact, I've outfitted myself similar to how you've set up...course, I'm on a much smaller budget therefore my equipment is not up to par compared to what you've got. Anyhow, I understand your channel is also listed as "camping" and you've got to review certain products related to camping...especially products from your sponsors. All that being said, when are you going to do more photography related videos? You're a good photographer and your photography is inspiring...to me. I really look forward to your videos and inspiration. I'll soon be out in the boonies, like you, to get in those rarely seen photos. By the way, I've viewed most of your videos and I believe this is the first time I didn't get to see your dogs. How are they doing? Thanks for the review and maybe I'll see you out there (I'm in eastern Nevada).

    Great review; now I have the Jackery 1000, and two Saga 100W SP's.
    I also have a Dual Battery System; Managed by a Painless 250Amp weatherproof control system, two AGM 900CCA, toss in my upgraded 150 amp alternator and a 400W power inverter mounted in the center counsel I still come in about $400 less than the Jackery Bundle. Now what I don't hear on any review is the operating temp - Direct from Jackery CS - use and store the E1000 within an ambient temperature 0-40℃ (32-104°F). Since I have winter camping trips planned with a Hot Tent and Ice Fishing I had to pick up a Back up power system from Costco - Yahama SC2300i.
    Do I have any regrets - absolutely not...The Jackery will be my primary power source as long as I keep it in the posted temp range.

    Yep, thanks for a good, thourough review.
    I like Jackery products. I have had a few of their smaller iPhone and iPad rechargers for years, and they perform & hold up well.
    I could definitely see purchasing one of these, to have in the truck or car for emergencies, or for operating off-grid a while.

    A nice compatible feature is that the 8mm input on the jackery works with goal zero solar panels 8 mm plugs...I tested on a jackery 290 a friend had and it charged using my GZ panels fine. That allows me to mix my GZ system with jackery gear.

  • @Hangs4Fun

    Peak output is not designed for consistent output only short peak draws, so I think that part is working fine.
    They do need to resolve the visual output speed of the wattage usage. That concerns me that some corners may have been taken. No reason that wattage info shouldnt be more realtime.
    Good review Jason

    No solar power bank is perfect, but depending on what application you’re using it for, you might want a certain brand or type. I bought one of these because it’s lightweight, and considering I live in a Ford Transit Connect, keeping that gas mileage at 30 mpg is essential.

  • @rono33
    @rono33 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Correction: but first, thanks for your review and cinematography. Now the correction: it’s called the Jackery 1000, not the Jackery 1400 or 2000. It is meant to be able to give sustained 1000 output, not sustained 1200 nor sustained 1400. The 2000 “peak” rating is just that: momentary peak, for startup surge, so of course it will shut down somewhere above 1000 if you try to hold it above. Peak means peak not sustained. Peace.

    • @PrimalOutdoors
      @PrimalOutdoors  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am glad you enjoyed the review, but you misunderstood the point of the test was to show what it was capable of, I was clear in saying it's 1000 watt inverter but was trying to point out that it was capable of running a bit above that, I never said it failed because it shut off at 1400. I have found it is pretty capable of sustaining 1100 to 1200 understanding that is rated for 1000.

    Ok, So a microwave might be kinda pushing it with this unit. Dometic fridge though should be ok. I like the way you described it as a "back up" for your main inverter, like for quick, small watt draw scenarios. 13 amp circular saw, nope.

    I disagree with you about running a 12v fridge on the previous models and the cut off issue. You just simple plug into the Jackery a small fan or something minimal to get the watt usage up enough to avoid the cutoff - problem solved. I have the Jackery 500 and 160 and the 500 and I run my ICECO GO20 fridge/freezer with no issues. You need to have mentioned that the 12v port is regulated. Also, instead of charging via the cigarette light output on your car, plug in an inverter and charge the Jackery via AC and it will charge faster. I love my Jackery units. I did a video review of the Jackery 500 for them.
    By the way, my ICECO GO20 ran all night on my Jackery 160 because it uses a little more power and does not run into the cut off issue. Some 12v fridges have power settings that can help with the issue.

    • @PrimalOutdoors
      @PrimalOutdoors  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Based on your comment I still don't believe the smaller units are a good solution for a fridge, you shouldn't have to run another device just to keep the thing on, but its cool that you found a work around👍.
      Jason

    • @charlesmoman
      @charlesmoman 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PrimalOutdoors I was suggesting that technique for "some" 12v fridges. My ICECO GO20 ran all night on a Jackery 160 WITHOUT running something else, so obviously, something is different. It is a much higher quality 12v fridge than most with the Danfoss compressor, so who knows? But if just running a little something with a USB or whatever gets the job done, then a user does not have to spend more for a larger unit when they do not need it. The bigger units do to work with some people's budgets. Just saying.

    Hi... New Subbie. I just got mine.. and Let Me tell You It was WORTH EVERY PENNY on it!! I have been able to cook with my 3Qt Mini INSTANT POT DUO pressure cooker Today I made Spaghettis with It .. I never knew that was Possible! with a pressure cooker SPECIALLY! attached to a Battery Power Station. What a mind blower. I still have not tried the battery with my DOMETIC Fridge. Gotta get it out of storage. One thing I need to know Is How do I attached My RENOGY 100 Watt Suitcase Solar Panel to it? The connections are different. I also have the Rockpals 100 watt Foldable. solar and that does come with various Plug in Tips including the 8mm Jackery requires. TFS Stay Safe & God Bless :O)

    "It has a peak of of 2000 but seems to shut off at 1400". So just FYI in case you didn't read the instructions or don't understand what it they mean (I think it's more the latter since you did correctly say it has a 2000 watt peak current)...it is rated a maximum sustained 1,000 watt draw. As you saw it does more than that, but it isn't guaranteed.
    It is rated for a 2,000 watt maximum peak draw...THAT DOES NOT MEAN you can draw 2,000 watts sustained like you've suggested. It means if you have a fridge plugged into it, and it draws 70 watts, but has a 1600 watt startup current...it's fine.
    You're just using the product wrong. Read the directions and don't be an idiot.

      Different strokes for different folks 😊. It’s also nice to have a generator that’s 100% (except for brief runs of the fan) quite, doesn’t produce fumes (so you can keep it in your vehicle if needed) and works when you eventually run out of gas. In a real world emergency situation gas pumps don’t operate when the power goes out; but the sun to recharge is usually always shining and free 😀. With these you can also run a 12v freezer/fridge in your parked vehicle without using up the “car” battery and your food/beverages stay perfect temp. Those two in combination are actually a great solution when buying frozen/cold food when living in a hot climate like Texas in the summer 🤣. I hate when my ice cream melts before I get home 😎

    I have been looking at every review on the 1000. My question is say you have a storm and it knock out the power. Is it enough to do a regular size refrigerator, an window unit, and charge a cell phone?

    • @hodges32

      no, a regular kitchen fridge is well over 1000w startup/peak power.

    • @kennethsage7889
      @kennethsage7889 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. You can charge and use this at the same time note this is not a generator. This is a big battery bank generators can make energy on demand as this is a portable battery. I bought 1 its cool. Im testing it now. Im running my ps4 and my 65 inch 4k smart tv. One hour of use for both connected at 100% it used about 17 percent for 1 hour. Thats my example. I bought a diffrent brand solar panel for 245 at 325 watts. The jackery has a small inverter/charge controller. It can charge at a max of 120 watts per hour. My panel is plenty large enough. Still caps the charge speed at 120 watts max. This being said only about 80-90% of your solar panel is going to put out what is listed. This being said also haha allows 120 watts max when in optimal su light. Ps. I charged this to 100% yesterday in a snow storm. Still charged it!

    • @PrimalOutdoors
      @PrimalOutdoors  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@johnmetrac2898 I am not trying to be argumentative but I can promise you using a relay and charging off your alternator alone will not properly charge your AGM batteries. You need a three stage charger that can supply up to 14.7 volts to charge a AGM and your alternator doesn't do that by itself.

      Primal Outdoors - Camping and Photography you are right before and after a journey I charge it from a mains charger from my house the alternator gives me a extra boost when driving, I just think these mobile power stations are very pricey they are basically a box of AA lithium iron cells wired to a pure sign wave inverter with some handy output sockets on them 😊

      1000 watt hours is around 80 amp hours, most 12 volt fridges use anywhere from 1.5ah to 5 ah so you might get around 2 days with the fridge cycling on and off, but it also depends on the ambient temp.
