I bought a power pack and two solar panels and realised that I hadn't a clue how to work them. Your video answered every one of my questions in less than half an hour. I rarely go through the trouble of signing in to TH-cam to comment, but in this case, I just had to say THANK YOU! You saved my day.

95% of all the folding panels come with a controller which I can't use with my Titan generator. Your video and explanation (only one on youtube to address this specific topic) will allow me to purchase the panels I actually want vs the few I could find without controllers. Thank$$$$ I've found your videos to be very informative. Great service to all.

I am a total duffus when it comes to cable and solar but one way I remember series is to remember the word "switch"= pos to neg.
    Then "parallel"= pos to pos.
I really really appreciate your explanations of all things power stations and solar. More of these really close up and watching you explain things and doing them is a big big help to us newbies. Thank you sir

This is the best explanation of series and parallel, the different types of connectors, and how to connect the solar panels to the Bluetti and the Jackery, that I have ever heard. I could hear your explanation, see you physically demonstrating as you explained, and see the diagrams you inset at the ideal times. I don't think it could get any better than this for people who don't know much about this stuff but are willing to try. Your assurance that we are unlikely to fry anything while trying, gives the hesitant person the push that's needed. Everyone will be ok as long as they're not standing barefoot in a puddle during a thunderstorm and pinching bare wire with bare fingers. And if they are, well, perhaps nature has selected them for extinction. Thank you very much.

Thank you soooo much! I've been trying to hook a Rich Solar monocrystalline solar panel that has an Andersen connector to the Tacklife generator which has a 5.5 x 2.5 mm DC input. (A month ago, I didn't even know any of these terms!) Imagine my frustration as a newbie to all of this when the two products came and I didn't have any idea how to connect them. I spent two weeks researching and trying to educate myself. Long story short and $30 later at this very moment, I'm charging my generator with this panel using an Andersen to MC4 adapter and MC4 to DC 5.5 x 2.5 mm input adapter. I have two of these panels and wanted to connect them in parallel, and wasn't sure how to do it, and I think you have helped me to finally understand how to do this. Plus, you validated all of the work I have done and solidified all that I have learned over the past two weeks. I'm looking forward to watching more of your videos. You are a great teacher!

Thank you! That's the best breakdown ever!
I'm trying to keep a Goal Zero power station alive after the AGM battery got damaged. The cable was out of sight and the station didn't get its charging fix within 3 months... Now I got hold of the cable, I am trying to upgrade it to solar charging as well, and lo and behold, in the process, this vid teaches me I could have saved that AGM battery by simply using my IBM-Lenovo laptop's charging cable all along. LMAO
Note I'm not in the West. (... Thus don't have easy access to proprietary cables, etc)
All worth it as I now feel way more confident tackling solar kit setups.

Wow, your timing is perfect. I just received my maxoak 2400 with a 100 watt Flex panel. And I just ordered 30 feet of cable with mc4 connectors on both ends. Now I'm confident to order a second Flex panel and do a series connection for when the power is out here in California. Thank you for your videos and your coupon codes they work perfect on the maxoak.

@@jayson1710 I did order a Bogue solar panel right after Professor Hobore veiw. The demand was so good that it's on backorder until mid September. I have used the maxoak on some power tools and tested it out with some kitchen appliances. It works as advertised I did have some trouble running my 25 cubic foot refrigerator but after a couple of resets it ran it fine not using much power. For the microwave and the induction cooktop I just used it on a lower setting, probably 60% on a 1100 watt microwave and level 2 on a 1500 watt induction cooktop. I'm sure that it will run my Wi-Fi router and my TV during a power outage which is my main concern. Will post a comment when I get my 170 Watts solar panel.

I didn't even make a new adaptor lead, you can just swap the ones coming out of the 'middle battery' icon onto the 'left solar panel' ones.
Then that becomes the output, no wire cutting needed.
I just bought a $20 Anderson to MC4 adaptor and plugged it into the Bluetti EB150
I had to change the - and + around in the Anderson output, which just unclips.
Oh and THANK YOU for this video! I'd NEVER have figured it out!

A couple things you should probably mention:
    1. Anderson Powerpole connectors are great and all. but they are NOT weatherproof.
    2. MC4 connectors are weatherproof, but they need a special tool to disconnect (take them apart).

This was unbelievably helpful. THANK YOU SO MUCH! You're the first person to demystify the Amperage issue for me. I always suspected the built in controller in my Bluetti and EcoFlow would limit the amps, but just wasn't sure. Now I can connect without fear of blowing them up. Is it safe to assume if I'm putting in a few watts (say up to 50) over the allowed limit, that the controller will safely regulate that as well?

I only have 200 watts of solar panels on my RV and it seems to take forever ( many hours) to charge my power station. I find the original AC adaptor that comes with the station is the fastest way and can complete the charge in a little over an hour. Of course you would need a DC to AC inverter. I find the solar panel most useful when constantly connected while the station is being drained by a device.

Thanks for the video. My Bluetti is on the way, but I wasn't sure about going 12 gauge or 10 since my knowledge on Electrical is primarily AC only.
I'll go 10 gauge even though it's much more expensive giving the distance my Panels will be from the power station. (At least 20ft but probably closer to 50 since the cables won't be a straight line)

Or, could I parallel a Jackery 120, and a Jackery 80. Or different brands for that matter. a Jackery and an Ecoflow. Lastly, if cross branding the watts must me the same. Yep,all a person needs are the right cables. I charge mine with several different types of panels

This is interesting because it tells me that even among the crappy PWM controllers there are different classes. The PWM that came with my DOKIO is powered by the panel itself as it powers on without any battery connected. It can also charge a solar generator but I lose a few watts versus bypassing it and going straight to the mppt in the Bluetti.

Thanks. Those 8 mm barrel power connector are hard to find by them selves. Always in an already assembled cable and cost some money.

It must be frustrating for you at times to try to convey information to primitive cavemen, like a lot of us, when it comes to understanding electricity, wires, connectors, etc. 12:54 to 13:38 is a perfect example, where you could hear the frustration in your voice. I appreciate and respect and admire the knowledge and experience that you have. Thank you for all the information shared in this video.

I recently discovered your channel and am a subscriber. I watched many of your videos. I was able to purchase a bluetti eb240 using your discount code. Thank you!! This is exactly the video I need to help me shop for the solar panels for the bluetti. I was lost ... series or parallel, voc, amps, etc. After viewing this video i have a much better understanding what i am looking for re solar panels (folding, suitcase, rigid or flex panels -- so many choices)! Thanks so much for your time making these videos and sharing your knowledge!

Nice to see the industry is finally putting APs on the inputs. Now if they would understand that the APs are needed to on the outputs so the power station doesn't disconnect the loads when driving offroad the utility would be greater. GZ have APs on the in/outputs and these always stay connected, not so much with the 8mm connectors.

I would like to see AP (Anderson Powerpole) on the outputs as well. That stupid cigarette lighter socket (from the 1950's) is flaky, unsecure, and limited to 10 Amps (120 Watts), The HAM radio industry has already adopted the AP connector as the 12 volt DC connector of choice. Also, it needs to be the side to side arrangement (Jackery) and not the top to bottom arrangement like Goal Zero.
