Great video that expertly breaks down Sabine's new midrange potential! I won a 50 person Showdown (6-0) last weekend with Sabine Green. My list was very similar to this with two key differences: I ran 3 Timely Intervention and 3 Sundari Peacekeeper. Timely allowed me to take care of pesky units without using my ECL (Lurking Tie Phantom for instance). Peacekeeper kept me alive in aggro matchups and gave me the edge needed to win. It also has excellent synergy with Darksaber. I also ran two Darksabers. I know this hurts the Heoric consistency, but combining the best of the Rebels with some Mandalorians provided flexibility to not have to rely on any one strategy.

Would love to see an updated Boba Green list next! Great vod as always. As a Boba Green main, this matchup has felt nightmareish because of Wrecker and Poe as you described. Normally I got to take the momentum on turn 4/5 since Sabine didn’t have any splashy midrange cards, but those two are so back-breaking. Still trying to figure out how I should be approaching that match up.
@@raphaelbereau5199 really depend on the match up but usually i side out rebel assault, since it can be hard to have multiple ready unit on the board against control and midrange
Love your content!! Thanks for doing this high class content. If you ever got time - do you think you can make Chirrut Yellow work? I tried so many things already, but I can't make it completely competitive.
Weak leader, weak color combo (yellows white) the only reason that would make me want to build a chirrut yellow would be because it has good force enablers at every stages of the game, the problem is that the only good force pay off is force throw and it's out of aspect so that seems like mission impossible with the card pool we have.
I think it's better yes. The reason is fairly simple, both decks were very close in power level in set 1. However ,Sabine yellow didn't get a lot of news goodies is set 2 and most of its upgrades (poe and wrecker are that good in sabine yellow), Sabine green got them too. On the other hand green got absolutely MASSIVE upgrades in set 2.
Hey Thorrk. Green bean is a great deck but just doesnt seem to take the top spot for larger tournaments eg gencon etc. are you going to run this for the next major tournament?
Just in case you want to make the video a bit cleaner, without editing, you can use control+tab to switch between chrome tabs, or control+w to close one and move to another. A quick f11 to go fullscreen before and now no one can shame you for your 200 tabs ;). Excellent deep dive btw.
Any thoughts about running a similar Young Han list with a similar shell? Han is able to dump his hand pretty early + play really resource efficient and put on a lot of pressure because of that. Or is the burn from Sabine just better?
It's a different deck both are good for different reason, Young Han green is more for swarming the board , a bit slower with less reach but more capable of generating value. I have a feeling that Sabine is a better deck atm, but as I said in the video I have a feeling sabine is the best deck in the game rn.
You think Mandalorian Sabine deck ecl with spark of hope (ramp to get her out early and Darksaber supporting other mandalorian units) is a viable deck?
Especially when you're leader is so cheap I don't think it's a good idea to ramp in an aggro deck. I think mandalorian synergies are A LOT worse than the rebel synergies in general. So can it work? Yes I guess. but is it as good as A rebel focus aggro deck: hell no. Keep in mind that making a mandalorian deck does make the darksaber more impactful, but it doesn't make it any harder to answer for the opponent the card remain fragile and situational
You could go without Poe and have Steadfast like Thorrk mentioned but to get everything from that card Sabine leader has to be in play and the card's aspects/traits compromise the deck synergy. Without Poe you could also strengthen your lower cost cards and have the ability to go wide and that would be really beneficial in control match ups. The set 2 MVP card for this deck is Wrecker IMO.
the ideal path look somthing like this t1 2-drop try to arena dodge t2 fleet ltd or wing leader t3 K2 So/darksaber and Sabine deploy t4 ambush poe t5 finish the game with FCBI
@@Thorrk_THT how about ECL Wrecker instead of Poe? At T5 there are usually units that, when dealt the 5 when played dmg, with overwhelm are perfect for dealing tons of damage and removing annoying trades
Is Darksaber just too much of a risk? It gives free wins if you land it but are people letting us land it? What happens when you play it and they play a Pike. You are very sad. Or are you? Would love to know more of your thoughts on Darksaber.
I think Al advance to final but rebel reausorce beat him. Sabine yellow still have good matchup against green. Even I beat Sabine green Al in seasson 5 with my Sabine yellow despite I'm green Boba player, but we will see, i think these will be very interesting games.
I have around 50% winrate vs this deck with Boba Yellow, and i think midrange Blue Yellow deck should do even better, there are so many removal / interaction / high thoughness units out there right now. You just need to remove 4+ units and play bigger threats. Tapping units early invalidates fleet Lt and Rebel Assault... saves you a lot of life untill you play some high stats Ambush units. Ambushing into raid units means you take them out and still have a unit left.
I fundamentally disagree with using the 25 health bases in an aggro deck. I have NEVER lost a match aggro vs. aggro when my opponent is using one of those bases. I can sideboard cards in to give me a better chance against decks I match up poorly against, I can't change my base though. You're locked in with that base for the entire tournament, and aggro is very popular at every event I've played in. I'm sure everyone can list tons of reasons why ECL is a must have against Boba and whatever other decks are your likely opponents at tournaments, but it is a handicap against other aggro. The only counter to my argument is that you should be more concerned about the Boba decks than you are the aggro decks, but if that's the case why are you playing this deck to begin with? Why not play Boba?
If you think that Sabine green should play a 30 hp base, then you don't only disagree with me you disagree with pretty much every single high level Sabine green player that I ever met (and that's a lot of people). Even if I could decide to switch base after side I would still play ECL in the aggro mirror(only exception maybe if I play against an all space deck). If you don't think ECL is worth the 5 HP it in this specific deck, then you haven't played ECL properly or you haven't played agaisnt people who use ECL properly. Without ECL this deck doesn't make any sense you would be much better off playing Sabine yellow or red.
What you say is very very wrong. Alliance X-wing over A-wing has the advantage of trading with 3/2 in space which sees a lot of play in set 2 , it is actually better now that it was in set 2. Of course, A-wing is still better overall because of the +1 attack but you still need at least 6 turn 1 space units to arena dodge your opponent consistently on turn 1. If you have the choice between a battlefield marine that will be traded by an opponent 3 attack unit on the ground and an uncontested X-wing, you take the uncontested X-wing every single time.
