I was the person who played Mike in the last round on Saturday and bounced his Vader repeatedly. To give context, I had lost game 1 already. I did not have any answers to his Vader, so I was using the Bouncers to delay and hope to draw into something I could use. Better to bounce him and have him have to spend another 7 resources next round than just let a shielded Vader kill one of my units at little to no cost. I was pretty sure that I was dead at that point, but I'm still going to fight tooth and nail if there's still a chance I could win the game. I definitely wish that I could have made it a closer match, but I find the Qi'ra match to be a tough one to win. Mike played well and earned his mat, and I ended up bubbling in 17th place. Still proud of my 5-2 finish though, so I'll take it ;)
Greatly enjoy the video. As a magic player that started in 2019 I heard many stories of heading to events and the team testing house and all the things ive missed in the past. Joining this game early and getting to experience all those things have been surreal. Glad to be playing with all of you and hope I get to go to Gencon next year. Thought baltimore would be good enough and after watching from discord I definite need that experience. Can't wait for more games and to see everyone at the top. Ma Klounkee!
Nice video, one small takeaway that one of you guys mentioned about 1-ofs in lists: that it’s less about that card having 1 copy and more about that card being the Xth card in a package. I used to generally avoid 1-ofs but that changed my mind a bit!
Great job to the team 👍 Seems like y’all were successful this past weekend. One quick question: Do you think the change from ECL to a regular 30 health base will be overall beneficial to all of the Blue Green villain soft control decks?
I convinced myself at the end of set one that Sabine Green is the only deck that gets the luxury of ECL. 25 health bases put you inside the range of too much nonsense…you know that well if they have sneak attack k2 plus heroic sacrifice I lose but what are the odds…
Found the Tarkin list off another YTer. Can you please show the Cad Bane red from your discord? Belive this is the first time Cad has done well in a large event and it would be great to see the list/ideas.
Weird question, but do the exclusive mats like the armorer or the top placement mats come in a box like the ones for purchase? Or do they just expect you to raw dog them around the convention?
Hi! I really don’t understand why Qi’ra/Krennic are not top of the meta right now. They can smash boba and every aggro, they have great match up against any other controls, they just don’t have any bad matchup (maybe palpatine?) But still it seems people need time to understand how to play it maybe?
I’d say because the deck doesn’t pilot itself and has very few “free” wins. You are working for every game whereas a Sabine green or boba yellow can draw the nuts, 2-0 some poor fool in 25 minutes and relax for 30 minutes lol. Even if you imagine the deck is 55/45 vs the field that’s not so massive you get free wins.
@@Nemman91 hard control blue yellow is a thing. Bazine is awfull to discard the relentless. Bounty hunter crew to get vigilance back. And you have to side, the first game without at least 2 relentless and 2 palp return, he's gonna mill you. Double blue too. Set 1 they played main deck sparks of rebellion to discard you the relentless. Blue red was abandonned set 1, I dont see it coming back.
I was at GenCon and did the Sunday draft and Twin Suns on Saturday. I was wondering what people thought about paying $12 for one game of Twin Suns or how they thought the draft was done. I did one of the Magic drafts and boy did you get a lot even for losing. Just wanted to see what others thought..
@@SWU_KTOD Pastimes ran events at the Con for Magic. Even if you lost an event you were guaranteed a pack. I did $50 draft for 2 collector packs and 3 regular packs for the new set with another random.pakc set. Due to guest being late they gave double masters pack. All together I got $150 worth off cards. I sold 2 cards and got my $50 back. All Star Wars did was hand out the Grogu promo with everyone had. $12 for twin suns seemed s bit much

Those mats are fire.
Great meeting you all this weekend!
You too!
Great breakdown boys, was awesome getting to hang out a bit and to play against Matty in that final round of day 3!
the finalizer art is terrific as a mat, I havent bought a thematic mat yet but i'd be tempted if those were a retail product
great energy in this episode, it's clear you guys had a blast!
i love how everyone from KTOD was labeled in the events, nice analysis, thanks!
Great job to the team 👍

Glad that FFG gave you guys something sick
The aggro version of this Han1 Yellow from Day 3 is.... pretty good. Wins the mirror. Hoping to experiment more with this one. Sunsetting the blondie.
Matty almost talked about his matchup with Rey 😢
great video! going forward do you like the Qi’ra deck better with ECL or the 30HP base?
Will be meta dependent, the 30hp one is so much better against sabine
To give credit where credit is due, Dominic is the one who came up with the Marine > Wing Leader > Darksaber line, I was just the messenger :P
"oh cool Mike mentioned me!"
*hears impression*
"oh"
Loved seeing you gentlemen as always 💜
Man, sounds like y’all had a great time at GenCon! Definitely not me being over here all matless and jealous lol
Where do I find the spreadsheet with decklists?
I'm looking for those lists too.
What was the art on the Gencon playmats? EDIT: Got the answer at 41:45.
Wish I could of met up with yall to play some games and meet yall. Next year!
definitely! we already rebooked our apartment!
Was fully expecting to see a little Rey Red in the mix, is it fair to say it’s completely overshadowed by Young Han Blue?
I think Rey still has game but Han Blue seems to be a bit more popular and has a decent edge in the mirror.
Which place/record did baroni have at gamecon?
Found the Tarkin list off another YTer.
Can you please show the Cad Bane red from your discord? Belive this is the first time Cad has done well in a large event and it would be great to see the list/ideas.
When we locate it we'll spread it around I'm not sure the discord name of Maxim
I did manage to get a copy of the CD. It rips.

They’re just loose.
Man, shouldve gone to gencon

It's not that easy to smash aggro set 2. Palp is an awfull matchup and hard control without siding is auto loose.
@@MeepleonFire it depends, hard control blu red lose to ramp+relentless..
And hard control blu green it’s not something you see often I think!
