Jackson, it`s about time to visit your town of birth once again. I miss the Warren and the Dave very much, but some of the magic of that night still remains.Heidelberg, Germany, Dec 11 1976. I was 16 at that time, the road still ahead.
We gave him a reason to do just this when we (my son Jackson and I) caught up with him after his Melbourne concert 4 weeks ago. We were the ONLY PEOPLE whom he chose to meet with personally after the concert due to their severe covid protection protocols still in place, as we've met him before and he was excited to see how my son Jackson's music was coming along. We presented him with a gold Heidelberg coin that we had been given by a souvenir shop in Heidelberg back in April, after telling them that we would do this. Jackson was thrilled to receive the gold coin and his warmth for his birth town was obvious. We were again in Heidelberg just 9 days ago and showed the people in the shop a photo of how we'd achieved what we set out to do, and presented him with the coin! Pretty cool huh! @martinobrien5369
I've seen Jackson many times, I seen him play live many times and once at a fundraiser he did cocaine rehab, and that helped me to kick my habit. But most of his music remind me of Love's that have come and gone. Thanks for posting it
Thanks for sharing your personal connection to Jackson's beautiful songs. Yes, I think for many of us his songs are a way of remembering lost loved ones.❤
…You have either got it, or you just haven’t!….Jackson just remains so consistent, as he becomes even more innovative and challenging, as he retains his traditional ways of Rock ‘n’ Roll/Classic Rock.
I went looking for the names of those who were touring with him. I couldn't find anything. If you can find the names, I'll gladly add them to my description.
@@Peter_LiveMusic At minute 39;54 Browne introduced the band: Val McCallum, Jeff Berry (?), guitars, the girls: Alethia Mills and Chavonne Stewart, backing vocals, Mauricio Lewak, drummer, Bob Glaub bass guitar and Jason Crosby, piano/keyboard! I am a non native American, so you can understand the musicians names better than me!
@@pauleka1 Thanks, yes you are right, I did record the band introduction at (39:54). I often do because I think it's important to acknowledge them. I think the reason I didn't include them in the description was because I didn't know who was playing what. But anyone really keen can google them and hopefully find out more information.
@@suzanneemerson2625 I didn't write that list of names above but the correction is much appreciated. A full list of the musicians playing on this video would be great. I'd include it in the description then. And yes, beautiful backing voices.
I wish the artiste would play "Red Neck Friend". When I saw him at Opryland in "76, the whole crowd was calling for it, and back then he never played it.
Great concert! I’ve been a fan since the first album so long ago. I didn’t catch the names of the slide player and the violinist. Can anyone enlighten me?
Great concert! Thank you so much for sharing! Seems like part of the concert is missing? You mentioned it was 22 songs, s, so maybe you just decided to use these 7 songs? Either way, your recording is awesome! I have loved Jackson since the beginning of this career and have been fortunate to have seen in in concert 4 times.
I never record an entire concert. If I can, I decide which songs I want before hand. Sometimes this means I miss out on capturing a really outstanding rendition of a particular song, but then I get to experience it in real time, which is of course, how it's meant to be enjoyed. Glad you enjoyed what I did record. The full setlist is here: www.setlist.fm/setlist/jackson-browne/2023/aware-super-theatre-sydney-australia-63ae8e47.html
LOL. By not holding it over my head for a start. It does mean that I have to watch the song via the screen, but even though this is small, when I zoom in, I often have a better view than not using it. I think a steady hand is one of the most important things are about good concert footage.

Great memories. Thanks for sharing them. My memories of him (or rather his music) go back nearly as far. So many of us can be grateful for all he's given us. Thanks for commenting.
I love you Jackson Browne original California guy I wish I knew all your experiences you actually change my life with your music
One of the best song writer's on the planet 😜😎
I dont know what happens when people Die ...... Cant seem to grasp it as hard as I try . I am weary as I have lost so many friends . I , a rock and roll survivor am doing the steps that I have been shown . Avoiding as I try to delay that dance I do alone . I am going out fighting for our Democracy and for all those that have sacrificed , that ultimate sacrifice
Jackson, it`s about time to visit your town of birth once again. I miss the Warren and the Dave very much, but some of the magic of that night still remains.Heidelberg, Germany, Dec 11 1976. I was 16 at that time, the road still ahead.
Sounds like you have some great memories. Hope he heads your way soon.
@@MurrayWilkes-jz5yq Thanks for sharing your wonderful story and what an unforgettable experience in Melbourne.
I love this song 18 years old I tried to find my life God bless you Jackson Browne
Miss David Lindley, rip.😢
God bless you Jackson brown
I've seen Jackson many times, I seen him play live many times and once at a fundraiser he did cocaine rehab, and that helped me to kick my habit. But most of his music remind me of Love's that have come and gone. Thanks for posting it
❤😂😊
@@TheDebclark thx
Thanks for sharing your personal connection to Jackson's beautiful songs. Yes, I think for many of us his songs are a way of remembering lost loved ones.❤
love
…You have either got it, or you just haven’t!….Jackson just remains so consistent, as he becomes even more innovative and challenging, as he retains his traditional ways of Rock ‘n’ Roll/Classic Rock.
It was clearly evident from this show that Jackson has still got it. A wonderful performer. One of my best concert of the year.
Yes Peter, and thank you!…And may have seen one another on the night as well!..
This was a treat. Would love to see credits for everyone on stage.
@@Peter_LiveMusic
Hi -
It’s Alethea Mills, not Alethia Mills. Such great voices she and Chavonne Stewart have!!!
@@suzanneemerson2625 I didn't write that list of names above but the correction is much appreciated. A full list of the musicians playing on this video would be great. I'd include it in the description then. And yes, beautiful backing voices.
Great Boodleg :)
Fountain of sorrow🎹🎸🎧❤it
I wish the artiste would play "Red Neck Friend". When I saw him at Opryland in "76, the whole crowd was calling for it, and back then he never played it.
I have a rare Jackson t-shirt
Must have been when he was in Sydney
Would've loved to be there 😊
Keep Going ✊
Van's guitar playing JB's songs is the best !!!!
Such a great band. Really brought his songs to life.
You have aged very well, sir! And that grey beard certainly looks very smart! 😘
Val is just so dang good !!!
Still sounds good
Send Me an Angel Jackson make my dreams sweet
Val’s playing is simply stellar
So good !!

After all these years
Great concert!
The full setlist is here:

Again, that you so much! @@Peter_LiveMusic
What a great setlist that was!. @@Peter_LiveMusic
@@DB-ph2fo Yes, it was. Still a little disappointed we didn't get 'Late For the Sky' but you can't have everything. Thanks for commenting.
Val McCallum on lead guitar. His mom is Jill Ireland and his stepdad is Charles Bronson. He is 6'7".
James, are you able to identify the other musicians in the band?
How do you keep that camera so still?
LOL. By not holding it over my head for a start. It does mean that I have to watch the song via the screen, but even though this is small, when I zoom in, I often have a better view than not using it. I think a steady hand is one of the most important things are about good concert footage.
@@Peter_LiveMusic Well done.
I miss David Lindley just like you do
You've known that hollow sound, of your own steps in flight.
You've had to hide sometimes, but now you're all right.

I found my soul
she resides blissfully
in a Celtic Goddess
of love wisdom and grace
with Erin's face
I'm in danger
because I'm a sinner
and she may feel a stranger
in her sacred domain
I pray to all the Saints and Angels
she may remove the stain
so I pray today and every day
to forever here with her remain
to assure me that I'm clean and good
that I may serve her faithfully forever
as she implied I could
that we could win this war together
you'd be a beacon for my soul
didn't you say you would
She's a hard sell
she 'knows' the business of the heart
my worthiness she can tell
she can pull my mind apart
like no other
she 'knows' my soul intimately
every sin every mistake
she may be my mother
will you make love
do we have this love to make
she 'knows' how easily
I break and how I cry for her
where will I go
what shall I do without her
serve the poor
I 'hear' someone say
is it her
is that Her command
uphold the weak she adds
for the higher good make a stand
I 'hear' someone whispering
is it You my soul my love
or am I an imposter
Leonard said: "I didn't come here
to fool you"
just love and light to foster
You said dreams can lie
but my darling this pig can fly
like a cardinal eagle or dove
inspired by your love
I dream of you in the sky
with diamonds
mined from the deepest deep
I dream of you all day
and all night in my sleep
I wander the roads
and get lost
as I add up the cost
of being unworthy or wrong
I've sought you
sung many a song
my whole old long life
you promised a whole new me
am I your wife
you said you were a man
and a King
you said I could be a woman
didn't you
did you accept my ring
or am I wrong again
how can I 'know'
anything without you
is this dream true
you live on a dream you said
well then it came from you
didn't it
so tell me is it true
will you leave me here now
on this plank
over the abyss
ridiculed
without a Valentine
I'll never do that to you
I'll weather the storms of time
for you my eternal love
my Goddess King of Orion
who descended from above
my everything
are you the Walrus or glass onion
I could be anything
but only You can know better
at the very least please sing
may I serve as your Irish Setter
or your Scottish Terrier
I don't eat much
and I'll come when you call
I love you that's all
I'll yield to your will I'll heel
upon command
upon command I'll sit
for your love
I'll make a stand
as a woman
or a man
