I think Wevers's routine is really different from other girls' routines. Nowadays not many female gymnasts do those mount and dismount like she does. The elements she combined in her routine are also unique. The best part is that she did it beautifully. She really deserved that gold medal.
It is different, not to mention difficult. I got scared when she did that triple turn, but she nailed it, and her eponymous turn is also beautiful, not to mention difficult as well. The gainer salto dismount might not be the hardest but it's still difficult plus so unique to watch in artistic gymnastics these days. I love the fact that she prioritised artistry over power.
Not so fast there Missy. This Dutch girl commited one violation on her routine here. According to the Artistic Gymnastics Federation Code of Rules, "one cannot repeat the same stunt on the beam." Miss Dutch repeated her twirls and turns THREE times and got credit for them. Apparently even the judges overlooked this obvious violation and gave her the gold instead of Laurie. I see Complaints flying off the shelves very soon and as we speak especially from the fourth and fifth placers. Heck, Laurie can file one too.
Sanne's routine has so much flow it makes me think I was watching a beam routine from the 80's and 90's back when beam routines used to be artistic! And a REAL mount! More of this please! SO happy she won as well 🇳🇱
The beam was manufactured and provided by a Dutch company and upon return to the Netherlands will be given to Sanne for her to keep at her home! Great gesture!
@@1joosje1 She actually got a different beam delivered to her house a while ago because the beam in Tokyo will be from a different company, so it's slightly different from the Rio one. It had to be brought in through the window, pretty funny to see haha
Routines like sanne's is what we need more in artistic gymnastics. Unique, artistic but yet somehow difficult. Artistic gymnastics has become less about the artistic part of it through the years. I hope we can see more of this in the future.
I have to say, I disagree. I'm not an expert on gymnastics at all, but from a viewer's perspective, I prefer a more athletic and less artistic approach to the sport. I also think what the men are doing in gymnastics is more interesting to me. None of the shiny clothes or the dancing, instead just a simple and comparable demonstration of body control. That's not to say I don't like artistic stuff, for example, I think ballet is very cool, too. I just think if you want art, you should do that instead of a sport. But that's just my personal taste, doesn't mean it should dictate how gymnastics are trained.
Well, there is a reason why it is called artistic gymnastics, if you just like athleticism go watch acro, tumbling or trampolining competitions, they do much more interesting things there and they don't dance. Just from another viewer who likes gymnastics and has been following it form decades. By the way, dancers are also athletes, just go watch any class or rehearsal and you will realize how muchos effort they do. From a dancer in training.
@bubblewrapped Not necessarily. Sanne already had an alternate routine with much more difficulty IF nothing happened in Simone’s performance ready to go. Matter of fact, she was trying to figure out if she even need to do the triple twist while performing on beam. Sanne calculated what she needed and which routine to go with after Simone’s fall.
Whoever says that Sanne's routine isn't difficult should try doing a Double L or a triple turn on floor. It's already so difficult on the floor. Sanne does turns IN COMBINATION on a 4 inch beam. Her mount and first skill is already an worth 1 whole point in start value. She had more difficult routines than Biles and Hernandez. She won the gold fair and square!! Well done Sanne!! 😁😁
Also, she would have done an even more difficult routine if Simone hadn't made a mistake. Very calculated if you ask me. I'm totally new to gymnastics. But I loved watching it. I'm Dutch myself and I had tears in my eyes from watching Sanne. Americans have won so much. People have to understand what this gold medal means for the average Dutch girl who is aspiring to be a olympic gymnast. They now know that this is achievable.
+cheristina Yes. She would've done a 6.9 start value routine instead of 6.6 . That's very smart of her!! She is so inspiring. I don't really care who wins as long as they deserve it. Sanne DEFINITELY deserved it!
Sam's TH-camChannel I loved watching all these gymnasts. They are pure athletes. Probably the best EF from these games, I was soooo happy with the outcome. Wevers did an amazing job and Laurie Hernandez was just top notch. Glad to see Simone could still get a medal, she is human after all :)
Exactly this! Very happy to see Sanne win gold, both as a Dutchie (first Dutch female gymnast to win individual Olympic gold) and as a gymnastics lover (seeing more artistry and elegance still winning gold in this day and age). Aside from my own fellow countrymen, I like the USA girls the best. I've been following Laurie since the US Classic and have been in love with her personality ever since, what a great girl and a much deserved silver Olympic medal! And aside from that, Biles is such a legend in the sport I would've gladly granted her every single gold medal in every single event in every single competition. But it was nice to see that in this case Sanne won the gold and Biles still got a medal even with a fall
I disagree about it being the best final only because the rest of the field was a bit of a mess. Simone really shouldn't have won a medal with that routine, but no one else hit cleanly enough to take it from her. I was hoping Flavia would break into the medals, but she had a very shaky routine. The top two routines were amazing, but I enjoyed floor and bar finals more.

Sanne's routine is a history in rare beam elements: e.g. Luconi mount (Khorkina used to do this mount as well), the Okino (triple turn) and the Kotchetkova (full twisting bhs). Include her famous Wevers turn, and you have quite an epic routine, which is worthy to be named together with some other great Olympic beam routines (Liu Xuan, Shannon Miller, Catalina Ponor etc)
Not to mention her unique acro-series (back-to-back side aerials) which even in 2017-2020 I haven't seen anyone do. This is both proper gymnastics and proper sport. Creativity, originality, artistry, athleticism and strategy. *VERY* few in that quad could say the same for their work.
I'm so annoyed that the camera zoomed in on Sanne's face while she did her Wevers turn lol... like come on! It was an E valued turn executed to perfection, let us see it lmao. It's analagous to zooming in just on Simone's feet while she does her Biles.
Wevers totally deveserved the gold, she did an amazing routine. She was very elegant and she reminds me nastia liukin. The artistic side wins over the power.
Well you're right but "artistic" gymnastics is not all about high difficulty level jumps. It's impressive that Simone despite that error got the bronze medal but Wevers was flawless, she totally deserved the gold. This is my opinion...
dontpaniccc I have no problem with her winning. It just annoys me when people ignore Laurie’s lovely form. Pointed toes & she often over splits her leaps. Has great performance ability on fx.
Sanne was amazing. Her triple turn was nearly flawless and it's as close as I'll get to seeing Mai Murakami's quadruple pirouette at the Olympics. Lol. Her routine was BEAUTIFUL, and it had the "danceability" that many beam performances nowadays just shurg off. Back in the day beam was such a beautiful spectacle because it had risky skills AND artistic beauty. A lot of that has gone off the tracks.
I love Hernandez on beam, as she seems to have a perfect blend of power and elegance. However, I also love Wevers and this routine was truly something special. I'm so glad the judges rewarded her for it.
At last, a real classical and elegant gymnast. thankfully she has brought back elegance to this sport, I hope to see more gymnasts like her in the coming years.
you fool..they are thrying to win points not compete from miss universe. who cares about elegance... does elegance wins you points ? you europeans and your racist attitude
SSTA EECG how is it racist? It's not just biles who lacks elegance. Other gymnasts such as raisman, Johnson, sacramone, and several other Americans don't have the artistic ability past Romanian, soviet/Russian, Chinese and American athletes had.
Jealous are we? Black girls winning gold and overall gold and you prejudiced haters are about to burst a blood vessel. You hate when blacks excel, where you think you are superior. Biles does a floor exercise that most men dare to try to duplicate. It's called "gym"nastics for a reason. Not the Miss Universe pageant. Get use to it cupcakes. We are here to stay. Either work harder, get stronger or go home. See you in 2020.
I love seeing things like this. I’m so proud of Sanne and Lori, and Simone. I just can’t even comprehend the commitment and sacrifice they made to earn those medals. That year, they were the 3 best balance beam gymnasts out of 7,000,000,000 people.
I love how sanne calculates her d-score right away. Just like she did after 2015 worlds. Everyone see her doing it, makes her look like a smart genius. Hehe
Good for her future as a judge or coach! Also so she knows if the score she's given doesn't seem right, she can put in a request to have it looked at, and know exactly where she should be getting marks.
Sanne Wevers' may not have the tumbling difficulty of the other gymnasts but turning on the beam is harder then it looks, doing it all in combination and not making any balance checks is stunning. It's nice to see something more elegant on the beam.
It's was so cool to see someone like Sanne Wever grab a Gold when noone gave her a chance for even a medal much less than Gold. Great routine. I thought her three consecutive ballet level turns was absolutely gorgeous. Then add to that her previous triple then she nailed that unusual dismount.🌹 Can you imagine having an "Off" day and winning bronze like Simone did?
I think the results of this final were very fair. From a judging perspective, I see a lot of issues with Hernandez positions on many of her jumps and to me Wevers was very artistic, had difficult skills, and executed them well with confidence. I like Laurie's attitude, but Wevers clearly had something very special that day on the apparatus. You don't see routines like that anymore, she dared to be different, and good for the Dutch legacy of gymnastics.
R. McDuffie Laurie is known for excellent leaps. She usually over splits. MG elite is turning out girls with excellent form in general. They remind me of GAGE.
"Dared to be different"--formerly known as the point of this sport! Was so glad to see it finally get rewarded on a stage that large in a quad with a COP as lopsided as this one's was.
Sanne's routine is was stunning! I was so impressed with her, not just her routine, but also her composure. She seemed so sweet and humble too...what a gal!
I love Hernandez! She came out from nowhere, won a medal and did amazing on floor, you can tell she loved what she was doing Well done Wevers! Well deserved medal, so beautiful and artistic... When I see her and Mustafina, I think all American gymnasts should take ballet classes lol
How wonderful for Sanne and the Netherlands!!! It's also great for gymnastics that athletes from more countries and styles are performing sooo beautifully. It also means the competition will only get tougher in the coming years. I am impressed with all these ladies. They all performed beautifully and showed great attitudes. Thanks for posting this.
I am a huge Biles and Hernandez fan, but Sanne deserved this! I just wish she didn't pike her body on that dismount, but that routine was beyond golden! The epitome of Artistic Gymnastics.
Sanne Wevers reminds me of Nastia Liukin with her grace and artistry. Not to mention they look striking similar in looks and body type. Congrats Netherlands!!!
I like Sanne’s routine a lot and is probably my favourite bean routine I have seen. I think the Netherlands are amazing at turns and I love their stylish and beautiful routines.
Funny reading the anger of Biles' fans when writing that Sanne was lucky because Biles' error. So we can say Douglas was lucky in London because Komova made the favor of stepping off in the vault and Biles was lucky cause Hong didn't hit the TTY. That's the logic. XD
This is such a breath of fresh air. I've been seeing more routines these days which focus on power and acrobatics. Wevers displayed grace like the old routines.
Both gold and silver sets were absolutely stellar! I would've been happy with either Laurie or Sanne winning, but can't help being thrilled for the Netherlands and Sanne's obvious joy. Also thrilled that Simone kept her cool and stayed on and NAILED the rest of that routine. Such a great beam final.
im crying over here even though i've watched this video before, i just don't know how wevers kept it together when getting the medal... to work so hard and achieve over america for a small country must have been overwhelmign my goodness
I never thought maroney's face back then was cute, I find it rather disrespectful (she lost the gold fair and square) but I like biles, I do think she is cure
well if Simone hadn't messed up, Sanne would've done a more difficult thing in the beginning which would make her D score a 6.7 which wouldn't necessarily mean that Simone won...
There really needs to be some changes to the code. The double-L tun and the triple turn should be an F AT LEAST. They are soooo much more difficult than what they're worth and that's what makes Sanne's routine all the more impressive.
I wish the commentator would say "The Okino" when Wevers performed the triple turn. It is no easy feat and Betty Okino paved the way and deserved the recognition like any other named skill.
Im here once again during the Olympics games Tokyo 2021 and stil dont get over Sanne's performance. She made it beautifully, although now it's different :( anyways i am a big fan of her
@Sco2B In my opinion Sanne had the perfect mix of dance and acrobatic skills. Maybe it's because she's doing lesser known and lesser performed skills that so many people can't recognize or evaluate them. She had the most difficult mount (E) when all the others just hop onto the beam. She did 2 side arials, a front arial and a full twisting bhs for the acrobatics (all rated D or higher) and then 2 of the hardest spins in the world in the same routine!!! No one else does these turns because no one else can! So dont worry, it wont be like rhythmic gymnastics because besides Sanne no one else can do it. She is simply unique and not at all boring (to me at least) :D P.s: A true fan of rhythmic can of course tell you that Rita, Yana and Ganna placed 1, 2, 3 in rhythmic aa! But you need to be interested in the sport in the first place. For example, I have no idea who won the tennis event in the Olympics because I couldnt care less about that sport, no matter how entertaining these athletes may be. But rhythmic is the greatest to watch to me, while great acrobatics seems to be the best for you. It's all about personal preference ;)
Sanne Wevers mostrou o que é a verdadeira ginástica, elegante, artística, parecia uma bailarina... Totalmente diferente dos EUA que as ginastas parecem robôs
You can see Aliya Mustafina in the audience with that signature eye shadow not paying attention to Simone and Laurie's routine lol she seems busy talking with Oleg Vernaiev. And Lieke is like so anxious watching Sanne. Lastly the shocked face of Martha Karloye when Simone almost fell 😢
I've already watched it a thousand times before realizing the olympic final's pressure, and the balance beam is such a precise game. How much composure and calmness those girls must have? I get nervous speaking in public😂. chapeau
To watch again and again!!! Finally some real beautiful gymnastic here from Sanne!!! The power is not everythig, this is a lesson for Biles and Hernandez!!!
@@patriciawere1252 You bet. That 'power' has taken Simone to more world championship medals than any man or woman and has made her overall the most dominant female gymnast the sport has ever seen. As for Sanne, she has struggled to reach anywhere near those heights since. Loved her routine at this Olympic though and truly was happy that she won.
One after the other you twit, not at the same time. They only have 1 group of judges for all 8 athletes so they perform one at the time. There are no other routines to show during the time the judges calculate the score.
Estefanía Izaguirre It's a TH-cam video, so users are free to fast forward through any part of the video they do not find interesting. There's no need to condens video's when shown through a medium like this. Some gymnastic fans enjoy seeing the gymnasts interact with each other or their coach during those waits and don't want these parts cut. That's why there still there.
Anyone else notice how the commentator screwed up big time during the medal presentation? At 14:40 he presents Simone representing 'les pays-bas' french for Netherlands) when he should've said États-Unis?! How come they can't get this right at the OLYMPICS?
Oh wow that was the Netherlands first medal on beam and it's a gold too? Aw that's nice! Makes me smile. It was a very beautiful routine. Reminds me of something Shannon Miller would have done back when I first started watching gymnastics. Very classic yet modern as well is the only way I can describe it. Congrats to the Netherlands they deserved it! 👏👍
Excuse for being in wrong focus but I somewhat found it amazing to see that Aliya and Oleg were sitting together at 6:31 and the one next to them was Alexander Alexandrov LOLLLLL
As a Dutch person I'm super proud of Sanne! She did amazing and she really deserved the gold although I still adore Simone too, she's just so tiny and strong :)
Did anyone else catch the mistake in the French announcements for the bronze medallist? Instead of saying that she represented the USA they said pays-bas which is the Netherlands?
It's not a mistake, in French, Netherlands is called Pays-Bas. That's all :) And sorry for my mistakes in English because I don't speak it very well...
i've never thought turns were so pretty. normally turns are where even the best gymnasts either lose points or straight up lose balance. i had no idea who she was until this event and then i was blown away

I can't even just stand on it
I fall thinking about it
Bts Staan I think I can do a cat wheel on it
I was impressed to see the Russian coaches in the stands low key rooting for Sanne. They definitely appreciate beautiful gymnastics when they see it!
Kelly P There weren't any dopers in gymnasts just track and field.
Musty Fan low key. Lmao.
Agree totally! Sanne reminds the old russian/romanian gymnastics!
I am betting it had nothing to do with their appreciation of her 'beautiful gymnastics' as oppose to cheering on anyone who could best Biles.
@@aliciamcdonald7105 That could definitely be a factor too. But the Russians are known for their love of beautiful, more old school gymnastics.
Ik was zo blij Sanne te zien winnen. Ze heeft het helemaal verdiend, het kunstenaarschap en de precisie is geweldig.
Sanne's routine was stunning!
I love Hernandez on beam, as she seems to have a perfect blend of power and elegance. However, I also love Wevers and this routine was truly something special. I'm so glad the judges rewarded her for it.
At last, a real classical and elegant gymnast. thankfully she has brought back elegance to this sport, I hope to see more gymnasts like her in the coming years.
you would love her twin, Lieke wevers😉
+5H&LM Need a collab!! and her teammate, Eythora Thorsdottir 😄
you fool..they are thrying to win points not compete from miss universe.
who cares about elegance...
does elegance wins you points ?
you europeans and your racist attitude
Hehe
Maybe in future she'll be a judge.
I was about to say the same. She looks smart and determinated.
She's known to do the math even during her routine, she is VERY conscious of what she needs to do.
Good for her future as a judge or coach! Also so she knows if the score she's given doesn't seem right, she can put in a request to have it looked at, and know exactly where she should be getting marks.
Why can't the TV team do the same, and put up some stats to explain the D score?
Sanne seems like a sweetheart! Her routine and her leo were beautiful.
Sanne Wevers' may not have the tumbling difficulty of the other gymnasts but turning on the beam is harder then it looks, doing it all in combination and not making any balance checks is stunning. It's nice to see something more elegant on the beam.
Love Sanne Wevers' routine!! Beautiful, clean, and extremely difficult. That triple turn was insane!!
#teamnl Sanne is amazing ❤
Yes , she is amazing ^^ (I'm Dutch and French)
I can tell
4:34 I'm just here for Wevers. So beautiful...
Nikolaevna :]
Absolutely gorgeous. The best artistry I have seen in a long time...
It's was so cool to see someone like Sanne Wever grab a Gold when noone gave her a chance for even a medal much less than Gold. Great routine. I thought her three consecutive ballet level turns was absolutely gorgeous. Then add to that her previous triple then she nailed that unusual dismount.🌹
Can you imagine having an "Off" day and winning bronze like Simone did?
Came back to watch this because Sanne's dismount is one I just cannot forgot.
Melinda Mercier me too
It is not the typical dismount that is normally seen performed. It isn’t the typical tumble, it fit with her routine in a very elegant way.
Is it the same one that Sunisa Lee does later on?
She came out from nowhere, won a medal and did amazing on floor, you can tell she loved what she was doing
Well done Wevers! Well deserved medal, so beautiful and artistic... When I see her and Mustafina, I think all American gymnasts should take ballet classes lol
And be losers like Weavers and Hernandez... in the 2020 Olympics. It is iffy if they will both make it into the event.
skystring1 well there’s no 2020 Olympics for a start and second you can’t be sure of that...anything can happen in sports
That’s true.. I’m sick of seeing gymnastics being turned into an event for cart horses 😡
So duas conseguiram bater as americanas, aliyia e a sanna
It's called gymnastics and maybe we need to understand the meaning of gymnastics.
For those who wanted to see Wevers' turn at 5:00, you can see it at 6:44 :)
Yeah, bad camera work there.

all of them did great, but wevers’ routine really caught my eye and i loved watching her perform. her dismount was also amazing!
I am a huge Biles and Hernandez fan, but Sanne deserved this! I just wish she didn't pike her body on that dismount, but that routine was beyond golden! The epitome of Artistic Gymnastics.
Weavers performance was something else, a well deserved gold. Glad to see Laurie and Simone up there with her too
Thank you Sanne! this the kind of gymnastics I love. This is art, well done 👏🏻
Check out Catalina Ponor, she was amazing on the bean and also elegant and beautiful as Sanne is🦋🙌
This performance of sanne was just breathtaking!❤
Funny reading the anger of Biles' fans when writing that Sanne was lucky because Biles' error. So we can say Douglas was lucky in London because Komova made the favor of stepping off in the vault and Biles was lucky cause Hong didn't hit the TTY. That's the logic. XD
Finally someone said it 👏👏
And apparently Sanne had a 7.0 D ready to go if Simone hit beam. I would have loved to see Sanne's upgraded routine!
+almostfamous99 I'd like that too, but Sanne just went for a "safe" routine to avoid any mistakes
ή ρυθμικη
μου αρέσει πολύ ή ρυθμικη😁😅
This is such a breath of fresh air. I've been seeing more routines these days which focus on power and acrobatics. Wevers displayed grace like the old routines.
Sanne Wevers is so elegant! Something gymnastics really lacks these days since 2008.
Oh, how was Sanne's routine at this years gymnastics world championship... where was she or better yet- where did she place? 😅
skystring1 She’s 28 years old, you blithering idiot. She has had her share of medals, leave her alone
Lieke dying in the crowd watching her sister :D
Where?
In the crowd, she sitting between 4 guys with white shirts, and she is wearing orange. really easy to spot. 3rd row
Thank you!
you're welcome :)
Jo
I actually cried (again) when you could see how happy Sanne was! She deserves this so bad and I'm so happy our little country could beat America😄
same😆😆😆
OMG PHAN
Oh please... I want to throw up. LOL
I'm more impressed how she beat the dopers without prescription of banned drugs
which dopers..there were no dopers there..except perhaps the Russian competitors.
seeing sanne getting first place is such an incredible moment
Wevers really deserved that gold medal. Truly impressive!!!
WOWW I love Sanne's elegance and style!
Sanne... absolutely incredible. WE NEED TO SEE MORE GYMNASTS DO THIS
Sanne's routine is what ARTISTIC gymnastics should always look like. Beautiful lines, pointed feet, stunning technique.
I love the routine from Sanne Wevers and so glad she got gold!
The Dutch gymnast, Wevers, was a delight to watch, both on the beam, and as she received her god medal. Well done!
im crying over here even though i've watched this video before, i just don't know how wevers kept it together when getting the medal... to work so hard and achieve over america for a small country must have been overwhelmign my goodness
15:04 cute little Maroney's "not impressed" face from Biles on the podium xdd
*just shows how adorable she is, puts a smile in my face
I never thought maroney's face back then was cute, I find it rather disrespectful (she lost the gold fair and square) but I like biles, I do think she is cure
Maroney made the face for a split second and the cameras caught it, it's not like she was doing that face for the entire ceremony.
+Ara Flores ugh...barf
What? No, she didn't.
so how about the other 5 routines? these athletes didnt get onto the podium but they all deserve respect.
The whole competition was shown on the app
well if Simone hadn't messed up, Sanne would've done a more difficult thing in the beginning which would make her D score a 6.7 which wouldn't necessarily mean that Simone won...
No one said they don’t deserve respect
There really needs to be some changes to the code. The double-L tun and the triple turn should be an F AT LEAST. They are soooo much more difficult than what they're worth and that's what makes Sanne's routine all the more impressive.
Andrew uhh. No. That Netherlands girl needs to learn how to wolf turn.
@@krissy7342 Yikes, nope. We don't need to see any more wolf turns being performed rn.
@@krissy7342 No, the wolf turn is the ugliest skill.
@@krissy7342 ewww Wolf Turn is ewww. Triple Turn is way more easier on the eyes whilst being super difficult to perform.
I wish the commentator would say "The Okino" when Wevers performed the triple turn. It is no easy feat and Betty Okino paved the way and deserved the recognition like any other named skill.
Im here once again during the Olympics games Tokyo 2021 and stil dont get over Sanne's performance. She made it beautifully, although now it's different :( anyways i am a big fan of her
i was so gutted for her when she didn’t make the beam final, it hurt a lot
@Sco2B
In my opinion Sanne had the perfect mix of dance and acrobatic skills.
She is simply unique and not at all boring (to me at least) :D
P.s: A true fan of rhythmic can of course tell you that Rita, Yana and Ganna placed 1, 2, 3 in rhythmic aa! But you need to be interested in the sport in the first place. For example, I have no idea who won the tennis event in the Olympics because I couldnt care less about that sport, no matter how entertaining these athletes may be. But rhythmic is the greatest to watch to me, while great acrobatics seems to be the best for you. It's all about personal preference ;)
sanne wevers' beam routine was so delightful to watch !!
I love the humility from NED! Sanne is so classy and elegant! All three are wonderful but Sanne deserved to make history for her country!
Sanne Wevers looks like a ballerina on the balance beam. Beautiful routine.
I get nervous speaking in public😂. chapeau
Such an amazing gold medal performance
Seriously, how amazing is Sanne ! She deserved this medal !
Sanne Wevers Only Queen 👑 💕
Sanne deserves it.
Love her turns.
sanne wevers, she"s what gymnastics and a gymnast should be all about. I also love eithora thorsdottir"s routines.
Congratulations Sanne your beam routine was beautiful, Stylish, unique!!!
Kenton from the USA
Netherlands (Sanne) Routine was SO beautiful to watch!!!!
the 2nd girl(NEA) was so elegant x3 she did amazing and deserved gold! xD I was honestly rooting for her
Sanne is breathtaking. Absolutely gorgeous unique and beautiful. Ballerina on the beam.
To watch again and again!!! Finally some real beautiful gymnastic here from Sanne!!! The power is not everythig, this is a lesson for Biles and Hernandez!!!
Considering where they are now, I think they're good.
I love Lieke at 1:20 how she looked devastated at Simone's "fall" even though she's her sister's biggest competition haha
I love the commentator. Her analysis is spot on!
They could've cut through the wait for the scores and included a couple more routines...
This was the event final, there were no other gymnasts performing.
I think she means they could have uploaded all 8 routines instead of the 3 that won.
Anyone else notice how the commentator screwed up big time during the medal presentation? At 14:40 he presents Simone representing 'les pays-bas' french for Netherlands) when he should've said États-Unis?! How come they can't get this right at the OLYMPICS?
Lisa Marie peut-être le commentateur l'a fait exprès, il voulait peut-être voir sanne et non Simone a la 3e place?
Gwendolyn Sheperd Haha ouais ce serait une bonne possibilité 😂
Lisa Marie on sait jamais 😉
I just can't stop watching Sanne's routine. It's mesmerizing
Sanne has my favorite beam routine ever
Wow, Hernandez's extension was just to die for. Haven't seen extension on beam that made me react like that since 08 Nastia.
I love Sanne's routine, so different and elegant, and glad she won the gold, though I am from US. Great job, Sanne!
I love Sanne Wevers routine! So classic!
Oh, how was her routine at this years gymnastics world championship... where was she or better yet- where did she place? 😅
skystring1 I don’t really follow gymnastics like that 🤸♀️
Oh,,, ok. She wasn't even in the top 10>>> also, she had the same routine.
skystring1 Are you serious?! 😲
Excuse for being in wrong focus but I somewhat found it amazing to see that Aliya and Oleg were sitting together at 6:31 and the one next to them was Alexander Alexandrov LOLLLLL
I noticed that too lmao
And Daria & Seda are exited for Sanne but they are so serious watching to American's girls
As a Dutch person I'm super proud of Sanne! She did amazing and she really deserved the gold although I still adore Simone too, she's just so tiny and strong :)
Did anyone else catch the mistake in the French announcements for the bronze medallist? Instead of saying that she represented the USA they said pays-bas which is the Netherlands?
i did
It's not a mistake, in French, Netherlands is called Pays-Bas. That's all :) And sorry for my mistakes in English because I don't speak it very well...
+marion samson yes I know that the Netherlands is Pays-bas but they announced Simone Biles as Pays-bas instead of Etas-Unis
Oh yes! Sorry, you're right. I didn't read correctly ;p
+marion samson no problem.
Wevers deserves the gold she is so Graceful and elegant and beautiful
i've never thought turns were so pretty. normally turns are where even the best gymnasts either lose points or straight up lose balance. i had no idea who she was until this event and then i was blown away
