- Edit 3/1/18 I have removed the original description because I’ve been getting crap about the original description for a while now and I’m sick of it. I never really cared in the first place about the workers cussing me and Sam out so I don’t know why I made such a big deal about it. Anyway just forget the description and enjoy the video!
Update on the Hurricane itself It is currently working properly. It unfortunately sounds like the blower is starting to die much like the one in Darien.

Location: Milwaukee, WI
Testing: Second Wednesday at noon
I don't know, I would definitely file a complaint. They pretty much harassed you guys. If a complaint doesn't work, I'd right a bad review for their business. Anyways I think it's time for this Hurricane to go. It's not reliable at this point.
I agree with you. This sirens days are definitely numbered. I honestly could care less if it failed on me, there are so many other good recordings of when it was working. Oh well. Me and Sam are still considering doing what you said, and yes that pretty much was harassment. If I wasn't running on 6 hours of sleep I probably would have reported it to the police or something.

You can know that a siren test had some goofy moments when a siren test video starts with Coconut Mall 😂
I don't like it when someone just look at me while filming a siren. I get rather nervous when someone just looks at me while filming a siren, because you never know what they may do or what they may say. By the way.. I hope they can get this Hurricane fixed, and not replace it. Great video!

@@FireRescue80 This is one of the last standing Hurricanes so it's a big deal to some people. You're welcome. Milwaukee WIS is one of those rare to find towns that take care of older sirens. Heck! I think they even have a Mobil Directo or 2! Some people don't even know about that siren! And will mistake it for an ACA Allertor!
I'm so glad they fixed the blower instead of replacing it. I think this is one of the only ones left!! That's why I think Milwaukee WI is a very unique town when it comes to their warning system, they held onto very rare and hard to find sirens like the Mobil Directo and one of the last (running in service) Hurricanes in the Nation. Props to Milwaukee for taking care of these old sirens! They're pretty rare and there's not much left of them afterall! Especially the h

Especially since the Hurricane is near the ASC headquarters so that could also be the reason this Hurricane is still in service.

Talk about a double whammy, broken rotator and broken blower. Sucks on a siren like a hurricane.
The thunderbolt blower is known of doing it aswell
It’s the contactor in the control box. They share the same contactor, so if it doesn’t pull in, the blower and rotator are off.
I have a bad feeling this isn't going to get fixed this time. :( I heard that the reason it is doing this is because the blower motor is dying and it keeps tripping the breaker. It will probably get replaced despite the fact that a new blower motor would be much cheaper.

@@mroak6504 No, the blower motor is a 3 phase induction motor and the chopper is a single phase induction motor.
this siren is never gonna go. the people who made it are only a few blocks away, so its not hard to find repairmen!
Yeah but the parts are hard to find since they're obsolete.

@@trainsandsirensofilinmiwi2080 yeah, its sad. i loved it but it was for the better. the hurricane in Darien was a ticking time bomb until a serious event happened and it stopped working. the T128 was a good investment

I remember my school siren when I was 10, it sounded so dead and so old that it would make me run past it with music blasting headphones in, I would just put my headphones on minutes before it went off, it would always scare the hell out of me back then.
I wish I could find more funny tornado or hurricane warning system fails.
That's the thing, they've all been replaced relatively do to blower failure. This is one of the last standing and luckily it's in the good hands of Milwaukie! In which they had parts and were able to fix it! It's still working and serving their system to this day.
Over the ACA Hurricane 130, starting at 1:45, you can faintly hear the ACA P-50 on Mill Road and T-128 at 84th & Florist.

The same thing happend to an old aca hurricane that was in la creasent MN, it was done because It was right next to a house
Lol they are so stupid. The street right of way extends 33 feet from centerline so as long as you were within that youre fine. Thats weird they didnt give me any shit last time i was there. Ill make sure i go back there next time it tests whether it works or not and give them some hell.

Something like the hurricane gets fixed and scares the crap out of them. I'd like to see that. When are you going back to record it? I definitely want to try this one again from a different spot.

I believe the blower and rotator are wired together so that's why it wasn't rotating.

I've been looking for a rounded siren like this! I've always assumed Trevor Henderson based siren head off like, a Tbolt. But they aren't rounded like this girly is. Finally, I found one!

Its a mechanical siren. It has a chopper.
So the blower got messed up or malfunctioned
@Jaxson Muldrew i used to work at the Federal Signal Ind. But i git terminated for some reason, the choppers were either spring Loaded, or held by Magnetic fields
The chopper works but the blower and rotator do not. You can still faintly hear the siren.
The hurricane is electrical so this means the battery is almost dead I can tell cause when the battery is this low the rotor won't move
The hurricane is powered off of 3 phase power, hence there is no battery and wouldn’t be able to be powered off a battery.

Ok just to let you know this is almost a year old I was new to this and I know now about them so I was a dummy back then but I get it now

Its the type of motor they used for the siren.

It sucks that it doesn't rotate or even loud enough, hopefully they refurbished it or replace it with a T-128, P-50/T-135AC, P-15, P-10, Allertor 125, Mobile Directo, another Hurricane 130 or a T-135 AC/DC or other sirens.
It's since been fixed and still active.
Sir, even though there's siren distributors that still have ceased production sirens, they will only replace it with sirens in production

I'm hoping that they will replace this ACA Hurricane 130 with a Federal Signal 2001-SRNB, even though Milwaukee County doesn't really allow Federal Signal sirens, due to ASC Headquarters being in Milwaukee.

How is the blower still running in 2022? I don’t know to be honest think of all the times it malfunctions and we haven’t seen it, It’s kinda turning into the Kistler Park Hurricane.
The blower today is probably fried. (I'm exaggerating.)
