I learned a lot from this video.
    1. Ruin special occasions
    2. Treat strangers better
    3. Project and deflect...fail to take responsibility
    4. Lie and deny...chronic liars, chronic deniers
    5. Gaslight...try to convince you to deny evidence of your own senses
    6. Lovebombing, future faking, faux-pology (false apology)... as manipulation
    7. Drain your life out of you
Thank you... very interesting and educational descriptions. 🎉

I won my court case with the narc yesterday!! The restraining order he filed against me got dropped and the restraining order I placed against him remains in place! 🎉 Thanks for all of your videos! I had 20 pieces of evidence to support my claim and I got him! Now I need to move so he can never find me again.

My real mother did not attend my wedding using the excuse that she was afraid of flying. She could have taken the bus, or train. Later, when my husband and I were visiting my relatives, and everyone wanted to watch our wedding on out video tape. So, everyone gathered around to watch it. Shortly after the video was started, my mother left the room and went out to her car and was in tears. My husband saw her leave and went out to find out what was wrong. My mother used the excuse that it was because she couldn't go to my wedding. My husband saw right through her BS, and he got mad. She immediately turned off the water works realizing that he was not falling for it.

I was raised in a family full of them. Believe me, these people know who they can fk with and who they can't. My grandmother ruined my brother's (also a narc) wedding, but she was on her best behavior at her step-daughter's wedding (her 2nd husband's family were treated better). I'm happy I deprived her ruining any special occasions for me as I didn't have them.

AMEN! I was hoovered back the first time by my narcissistic mother because she used my HUSBAND to get to me! She faux apologised and then went completely back the other way and her usual behaviour. She was definitely an energy vampire. She ruined my birthdays and my wedding and then decided she was going to take over parenting my children. This when she decided to hit my son then tell me that I was giving him mixed messaged when I was trying to calm him down AFTER telling that it was "just a little tap" (my son was 11 years old and would not have howled over a little tap!). She then told me that "Grandmothers take precedence" which was my cue to get my two children and myself the heck away! I have been no contact for the second time for 5 years but this year she has attempted to make contact, first by showing up at the funeral of my dear friend and one of my bridesmaids to announce that "she thinks we should talk". I employed the grey rock method whilst my sister politely told her that now was not the time to the reply of "I am you MOTHER!" The second time was via her husband who is her number one flying monkey, to email me in order to let me know that my grandmother (her mother) had passed away and "should I want to know the details of the funeral then I was to contact him directly." I was reading to my daughter the following night when he actually rang and left a message (because I was fussing on more important things like my daughter) to TELL ME the details of the funeral. I did not attend! Simply because I refuse to break no contact and I grieve the loss of my grandma privately. These 7 things just confirm what I continually doubt when I think about the person who unfortunately has that title of mother. The rumination can stop now. I know she has narcissistic traits. She did all 7 things you described in this video!

  • @jloggy7643
    @jloggy7643 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

AMEN!!! I have seen all these things. The stranger mention is spot on. I would often tell my narc that i was the last person on their list of those in her life and even told her that she treated cockroaches better than me because at least she killed them quick.
I have found the best way to shut down her gaslighting is to come back and present her with exact dates and facts of how the way she treated me is "domestic violence" and at times rape. Once i do that she instantly trys to project and deflect and i then go grey rock. Shuts her down pretty quick.
By watching beccas vids and those from dr. C i have been able to both stat two steps ahead of her going into each court hearing and also work on myself. Slowly but surely i am healing and growing

I’m so drained. I’ve been fighting with my narcissist son for a year. I cash bought a house last year and was stupid and put his name on the deed thinking if anything happened he would have a place to live well shortly after all the red flags started to appear and then he threatened that he owned half the house. So I got an attorney who did absolutely nothing so I finally offered my son $50,000 which he said he would settle for ….well now that I offered it ..the goal post has now been changed again and now he wants half again

In my personal experience, when narcissists try to gaslight a person, they love to get very close to the target physically that they can almost touch the target's body or limbs - and in many cases they do. It looks to me as if they apply pressure through their body language and the body heat, smell that they secrete and emit. It still disgusts me thinking about these creepy narcissistic moves.

  • @BarleyC

Thanks for this - these points really hit the nail on the head! I might also add #8: They will belittle/minimize anything good or bad that happens to you; for example, saying something like: "Is that all?" or "Really? I've had it much worse."

    • @theresaconley5930
      @theresaconley5930 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I was dumbfounded for so long when I used to call it “California Flip Flop” because it ALWAYS boomerangs back to me 10 folds trauma nothing easy. Lies are real to my face. The anger. Unbelievable. I’d like to see if you could help her my lady won’t listen to me (we know that)… all the material I’m coming across says ditch the relationship because narcissist patterns are too real especially when I gave up my angered past that got me in a lot of trouble I feel like I’m going in a down spiral lane to head on crash and I’m just the test dummy to her.

    1. Manipulate your money.
    2. Ruin vacations and holidays by being so overly subjective and restricting you.
    3. Manipulate your wants.
    4. Love bomb guests.
    5. Hog everything in the house. - What I mean by that is they act like you shouldn't cook food for yourself (unless you're the one cooking for them, but you shouldn't be allowed to cook for just you because it "wastes electric" yet I pay $100 to my dad a month for electric). My stepmom constantly using the washer/dryer.

    7. Rant and rave.

Hi there, I am divorcing from my narc husband and I managed to get a narc lawyer. 😞Just one example: My lawyer sends me an email that I should send my husband and not supposed to change even “,”. OK, I sent the email and CC copy to my narc lawyer. He had hysterical attack why I had to send a CC copy to him. I answered because I always send him a copy, it was in Italian and my Italian is not as good as the letter was so evidently I had help to write it and to show my husband that I did not write it behind my lawyer’s back. The answer was rude and aggressive saying that I should never put my lawyer in CC if I write my husband.
I asked him why? I am not a lawyer, I don’t understand. If it was so crucial why didn’t he tell me before he made me to send the email? He didn’t answer. I could write a 10 meters long list of similar things. Now, he blames me for everything. Things are not going well, so he wants to quit but also paid. What should I do?

    That's their motto, IMO.
Sad way to live, using ppl like that and being so manipulative with others.
    Just destructive in many ways.
Once you realize they're wounded, you want to help but...it's just a cycle.
And then, it's almost like you don't want to turn into them, so to speak, but you may if you don't get out while you're still YOU.

    yes....yes....yes.........especially Number 7
How do you let a 68 year old male sibling (in an Assisted Living facility due to Parkinson's-like freeze on gait disability) go?
He is very close to getting kicked out & transferred to a Nursing Home due to his refusal to even try to be independent. Everyone needs to be his slave.....with no 'please' or 'thank-you'
He gaslights.....cares nothing for me & other (narcissistic) brother. "I want" NOW "I need" NOW "I'm having a melt-down because you won't do what I demand" "I didn't ask for my disability..." on and on..
He tells anyone who will listen..."nobody does anything for me".
This all started 5 years ago. Only in Assisted Living for 4 months.
I'm emotionally drained to the point of having a nervous breakdown. I'm 65 years old & alone in this.
Who can I turn his future care over to & let him go 100% .......to save my life? I want/need peace.
I have no money to pay for a lawyer. (other brother owes me $10,000...no attempts made to pay it back)
    thank you.....Karen

The truth will always come out. Do not allow liars to get you riled up. Keep your head up with confidence because you know the truth. Stay silent and do not try to explain yourself to them. Talking to a narcissist is like talking to a brick wall. They also enjoy seeing you in misery.

Foaupologies! Needs to be added to Webster’s dictionary! PRICELESS WORD. They are Charming Manipulators…. Then if you stir the pot, their Dark Side is a whole new level of DARK. Sucker fish could take lessons from these types! It’s like those evil videos where mean ppl put hamsters on an exercise wheel and then force spin it. EVIL. Infuriating. Dark.
