I havent done any other mods yet. I have been messing making another type of metal detector called a mirage PI. I havent been to the beach either; unfortunately I live in the midlands, over a hundred miles from the beach, so I wait for summer. Nice to hear from a Christian brother.
Detec, could you possibly make a video showing the diagrams and instructions for your detector? I received the kit with no info. Only the parts list. Thanks!
I recommend you, surf pi 1.2 board. Is about $40 o $50 Is pretty amazing. The deep is about 20cm small coins. More than enough for the price and for hunting. Practically the same deep of Garret at pro.
nice video...i also made the surf pi but modified the circuit and im getting over 20" on a old nickle half crown and about 14" on a 9ct small gold ring.
Did you make another video explaining the modifications you made? I have the mono coil and DD version but would very much like to know what you did to increase the depth
Hello Detec: Thoroughly impressed with all the work done, especially your Surf PI PRO and Super Coil, and the Crossbow Detector and coil video. I'm scratch-building the Surf PI Pro, and relying on local sources (JayCar plus RS) for the components, but looking forward to coil making: under what name/website can I buy/download the coil calculator you used? i have just got a mirage pcb but have not started building as yet...how you doing with the mirage build ??? i had problems with a hammerhead build which has wasted a lot of my build time.
hi on another video I watched the guy was Australian he used a .5 wire you said mil. in the usa we don't measure wire in actual size its in gauge 12awe 14 awe etc. my problem is I am having a hard time figuring out what size wire since most of these videos are from over sea's. any light you might be able to shed so I can figure this out in American products ?
No I dont sell them, I dont even make anything to do with the surf PI anymore. I have been making a crossbow classic PI, which gives superior depths of 20". I have a few videos of this. But this was also a very long time ago.
@@cwarrillow ok, thanks, an ebay seller is selling these as a kit but wont respond to questions. I watched your crossbow vid. Did you do the mirage yet.
@@mattrowe1229 I finished the Mirage years ago. I wasnt too impressed with it. Depth was poor, but was more sensitive to gold if I remember right. Crossbow is number one for me.
@@cwarrillow i watched one of your vids on the crossbow, will check out your others,is the crossbow your own design, or what pcb board are you using for the crossbow, i thought you mentioned the mirage from sven, or treasureliynx, i will look again, what oscilloscope do you use, and what do you think about the PC based digital ones

i increased frequency and tx pulse width and screened the pcb and used 15v battery pack instead of 12v
david hodgkinson Why did you use 15v?
Denison Dutra Chaves the 15v battery pack increased the depth more and plus it gives you longer running time on the beach.

hi which kind of cable you use to connect coil to PI circuit? coaxial cable or something different? which is the best cable?

On the basket coil you made, where would you connect the outer coil to? (or is it used as the oscillating coil, or detecting coil?)
