Wow i didn't realise it was that long ago. i think it's about time that i started to use it now. i have been holding back from using it as i know there was only 13 of these originally made. plus this one of yours is the only other one that i am aware of that was successfully made after those ones. you wouldn't have any good tips that you could give me on using it. many thanks in advance.

    • @cwarrillow
      @cwarrillow 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      All this information is in the video. 26 Turns of .54mm wire. 260mm diameter coil. But my coil must finish up at 0.5 mH. Not all metal detectors are the same, some only need 0.3mH. So the turns or wire diameter would then need to be different to suit the detector you are making the coil for. I hope this is clear for you.

    Hello detec, I am in the process of building a crossbow. Would it be possible for you to give me (us) a more detailed description of the coil build......and is it also true that the larger the coil the deeper it will detect or is 10'5 about it. regards Jim

    • @cwarrillow
      @cwarrillow 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jim, I dont know what other information I can tell you its all in the video. Is there any specific you have in mind? I made a 15 inch coil which I wasnt to impressed with. The depth went 2 inches deeper than the 10.5 inch. I made a 12inch coil and again I noticed only a 2 inch depth increase over the 10.5 inch. But the sensitivity isnt as good. So after lots of experimenting I found the ideal coil for me was the 10.5 inch which gave up to 20 inches on coins and rings and was sensitive enough for me.

    There are PI metal detectors such as Lorenz Z1, Makro Jeohunter that use large 1m squarish coil that detect deeper than yours but your detector is brilliant.

    • @ImaginaPower

      yes and you put the same 1m Square coil on this one you get even deeper than Lorenz and makro together!!

      The depth is that great because of the circuit design.
