SPY HUNTER TIPS / Factoids: 1) The Weapons Van button does not call the Van, nor call it faster. Its for starting the game, and the flashing-light alerts the player, that the van is about to come. 2) The TOP of the actual Weapons VANS, show an icon of what weapon that they are carrying 3) To bump the baddies FAR... use a very QUICK and HARD movement (SLAM THE WHEEL). The game calculates how much acceleration you put into moving the wheel, and weighs that against the baddies bump. The Spy Hunter wheel assembly is built like a Tank, and is specifically designed to be ROCKED as hard as you possible can slam it. You wont ever be able to break it (unless some set-screws got loose). Try to hit the baddies before they start to bump you.. for maximum potentials. 4) You can Bump the switch-blade cars with the REAR of your car.. if you hit them just before their front tires. This is a very tricky move to master... but if you do... you can pretty much get away without using any weapons on rear-approaching switchblade cars 5) While you have 3 Smokes, and 3 Missiles... Oil is based on how long you hold the button down, just like a real liquid container. You can use very quick presses to extend your oil reserves. However... if you press too quickly.. the amount of oil may not be enough to effect the baddies. 6) As the Van drops your car back on to the road, you can shoot it with a single shot, and still manage to get out of it, as its blowing up. The timing has to be very precise for this trick. 7) If you enter the Water.. and have OIL Slicks.. the Oil button turns into Fire Trails. 8) If the boat is too fast, it will Jump into the air... and wont steer well. Reduce speeds for better turning and control. You will need to be able to steer quickly, to avoid dropped mines. Get to land ASAP. 9) If you drive as fast as possible before the timer runs out, you CAN actually earn TWO extra men, instead of one. Be careful not to hit pedestrian cars, as that will stop the point counter for a few seconds. 10) The ICY Roads stage is the most Dangerous. Reduce pedal speed, and turning speeds. Try to stay in the middle of the road, and anticipate being bumped off the road. Try not to bump others, as your bumps on ice.. will tend to be nullified at best. If things get crazy.. rather than speed up.. try nearly coming to a stop, to have enemies pass right by you. If you have to speed up, drive towards the safest edge, based on the roads upcoming direction, and quickly slow down asap. 11) Remove cars behind you, using cars in front of you. Align then Shoot the cars in front, and juke away before it hits you... and if you aligned things well.. the wreckage will crash into the baddies behind you. While you will be penalized on points...you can do this with pedestrian cars as well. 12) You can actually have all three weapons at once. Especially if you are conservative, in how you use them. Make sure keep mental track, of how many missiles and smoke screens you have left. Remember, that after a truck, that one particular weapon is fully re-loaded. 13) When the Heli comes... try to position yourself in a spot where you want him to drop a bomb, such as near the edge of the road... so that you can juke into the center of the road, safely. If you are good, you can get the Heli to destroy enemies behind you too. 14) Placing the pedal on top of the pedal bar assembly will give you a faster car speed.. BUT... it will destroy the bar assembly quite quickly. One of my buddies glued a thick piece of wood between the pedals base... that was lower than the metal edges. This allowed the wood to ride on the bar instead.. which would only damage the wood, instead of the metal bar assembly. 15) Drop the gas peddle near/fully to get up to speed quickly, then back off about 50%? as you shift into high gear. If you shift into high with full pedal down... you are going to wreck really fast. The optimal speed, is high gear.. but low gas levels. You want to be just a hair faster than the baddies... and be able to quickly burst away from them, as needed. * The only time this does not apply... is when you are trying to reach for the two extra men, before your timer runs out. At that time... you want to really try to push your speed, as quick as possible, for as long as possible. 16) While you want to get up to speed quickly.. try not to turn too harshly into the middle of the road, too quickly. Enemies may suddenly fly up from behind or to the side. Keep the pedal at medium speeds as you enter... rather than trying to enter full pedal.. as you will likely crash into something. 17) Make sure the pedal assembly's screws are tightened and the gears are lubed well. A Loose pedal assembly will cause the gears to grind into total destruction. 18) If you are missing the pedals wheel bearing part... its the same part as a pacman joystick actuator.
I remember the boat being almost like a myth. We played this as children, and some kids would say you could actually change into a boat, which blew our minds.
The boat was true but there were a lot of other myths like a final level in a graveyard or a level where you turn into a motorcycle or get out of the car. People were just desperate for this game to be "beatable" in some way though it was just a never ending score chaser.
There’s something just magical about arcade machines. Nostalgia probably plays a huge role on this but I just love these things. I really miss the days of the arcade places. A pocket full of quarters and as much pizza you could eat was paradise back then hahaha
I was the SH record holder at my local bar. I remember a game which must have lasted, maybe 30mn to an hour? I don't know exactly, but it lasted a long time. By the end, there was a crowd huddled behind me, watching. First and last time in my life! The trick, I found, with this game, was not to bother shifting gears. Keep it on high the whole time, and just get good modulating speed with the pedal = more attentional bandwidth redirected to strictly driving + both hands on the wheel at all times. ☺
Used to play this with my friends back in '88. One of us would drive. One would man the pedal. Another would work the shift. Teamwork. Fun times. Almost as cool as having a James Bond car.
I guess I was better than I thought at Spy Hunter. 80's kid. I made it to the snow/ice a few times. Forgot it did that. When I got to the snow/ice it was game over within twenty seconds. LOL
When I was 12 I made $700 in a yard sale selling Star Wars stuff. II then went to Florida to Walt Disney World and spend every damn bit of it on Spy Hunter the video game. My brother and I would get in the monorail and hop from one arcade to the next. Wow you brought me back to 1985. Thank you

It was supposed to be the James Bond theme but they couldn’t get the rights to it. Funny how things work out because I think the Peter Gunn theme is perfect
Best thing with the spy hunter theme you get different guitar riffs. Some of them are awesome & I get goose bumps . When I get different a guitar riff, I make sure the limo appears on the screen to make it even better 😀 I played this game when it first came out back in 1983. The music caught my attention in attract mode when I was a kid. If you guys wanna know. The limo is a 1935 Cadillac . Bullet proof bully is a 1955 Chevy nomad. Switchblade : can’t make out what kind of car it is. Lt. Blue car is a volkswagon, red car is a Ferrari. Car your driving is a Porsche .
What a great memory! I loved to play Spy Hunter in the 80's. Peter Gun got screen burned into my brain. To this day I still hum the theme while driving down the road. Wish my car had those twin 50s.
That's kind of where we got the inspiration to make the channel years ago... when I was a kid I never really played the games much at the arcade, I always watched someone else play because I didn't have much money! Thanks for watching Melanated Prose!
I spent allot on this game at the movie theater back in the day. I'll never forget when my mom brought this game home for my Nintendo when it first came out.
I'll bet you can still smell the popcorn when you see one of these :) We used to play some at the movie theatre but it was a few years later, that was something else going to the movies, blowing money on the popcorn and drinks, then seeing what games were in the arcade room down the hallway.... a completely different world back then!
Growing up I put endless quarters into Spy Hunter, over 35 years later I just learn now there's a freakin boat? I would feel like a total failure, but I never even saw anyone else at the arcade get to the boat level either lol.
One of my favorites of all time! I used to play the hell out of this as a kid at the local arcade; the full size sit-in cabinet version though. Literally have not thought of it in probably 25+ years but I see my memories of it being brutally hard are still true.
When i was a kid we used to go to a place called mazzios pizza and they had an arcade and spy hunter was one of my favs!! I can still remember being there the lights were off and all the arcades we're making noise the lights from the arcade were bright!! The '80s were the shit!!!!! And also Starwars!!
Yup, and Van halen! LOL Yeah we had a local pizza place with it's own arcade too, it was pretty awesome... Maybe kids think the same nowadays when they go to a family fun center????
There is a trick for the stand up version (like this one) that works on some, but not all, machines. You can detach the accelerator pedal and pull it toward you so it lays flat on the ground. That allows you to push the pedal a little farther than normal. You can drive off the left side of the screen and become invincible while over there while driving super fast. Pretty crazy.
This was pretty awesome! I used to play the sit down version, and thanks for having someone play who could get to the "Cool Music" That was always my goal point when I was young and playing this arcade game.
Thanks, we appreciate you checking it out. Yeah I knew I wouldn't get anywhere on it so I waited to film it until Matt dropped by, I knew he'd work it out for us :)
Glad I found this video! I was looking something up and briefly needed to reference Spy Hunter. Looks like this had pretty much everything I needed to know, thanks :)
Friend of mine was talking about adding to his collection of arcade games and this one came to mind amongst many. I don't know which ones he intends to buy but this was one I played every time I went to the arcade. From what I recall they had a model where you could sit down which was my favorite kind when it came to the driving games. I had all the spots in the top scores on the machine at the mall I frequented. Your guy didn't do too bad and at least made it to the boat level so as to show all aspects of play. Thanks for sharing and a little trip for me down memory lane. ☮️
@9:10 was a perfect time to show how to "jump" the bridge out. Just as the road straightens out when the screen says" bridge out" you enter the truck and when it takes you to the right side, stay in the shoulder and continue across the bridge even thou its not there. You can stop halfway across and watch other cars fall over the edge. BUT, If you get hit by the helicopter while "resting" midway on the bridge, the game will crash to the insert coin screen. If you got to 18,000 points before the initial timer runs out you get two cars instead of one you have infinite lives until that timer runs out. after a while the civilian cars stop spawning completely. making it easier to play.
I have such a strange, fever dream like memory of this game and cabinet as a kid. I was born in '93 so long after the release but it lingers in my mind. Cheers for uploading the video mate.
On one perfect day, after many, many quarters I made it to the boat AND the ice. Never played that game as well again and it became depressing. Moved on to other arcade games, but that special Spy Hunter game will always be the unicorn I saw just once in my life.
Yeah I was proud of myself for awhile, but to not be able to achieve that "magic" game just ate at me. I moved on to Tempest, Star Castle, Defender, Afterburner and Tron, and enjoyed them all. Many good hours were spent in the arcade.
dunno why yt is recomending it to me after this time but its awesome.....watching you and your buddy playing reminded me of myself playing along with my friends in the hunt of the high score .....what a great way to waste time isnt it???......thank you for the nice flashbacks into my childhood ...god bless you dad.
I don't have any adjustments on my camera for that, the MCR games from Bally used a slightly different refresh rate so I guess it just matches the camera a little better!
Man this game brings back memories! That’s a very good quality arcade very nice. I remember walking into the galleria mall arcade in the 80s and you would always hear those familiar Spy Hunter sounds.
Such an awesome game! There is also a kind of knock off by sega called “Action Fighter” where you can turn into a motorcycle, helicopter and other vehicles, also pretty great. This is why you have to play these classics on actual hardware, mame just doesn’t capture the feel of it! Great video!
Man I remember when I was a kid in the 80's and we'd be on the road on a family vacation and some of the restaurants we'd stop at had arcade machines. My dad would only ever give me a few quarters, but I remember playing this game here and there. It was a tough one! Nice video!
Good memories, I used to play them at a department store when I was a kid, they only had a couple... I played one at a grocery store too, they used to be all over the place!
As a kid in the '80s, I spent a lot of time at local arcade/mini golf/pizza place and the sounds of this game bring back so many memories. I can almost taste the pizza and smell the cigarettes (people smoked everywhere back then), lol.
They need to bottle that smell, like the way the pepperoni and cheese used to smell at Pizza Hut back in the day... it's nothing like that now, I guess they changed something but it's nowhere near the same. If somebody never smelled it, they can't possibly remember it, just one of the quirks of growing up I guess!
Your friend is a lot better at Spy Hunter than I ever was. It's nice to see someone who can play the game, play it. First memory of playing it, myself, was at Opryland. #yeehaw
Opryland! I can't bring myself to go ever since Little Jimmy Dickens died. I'll let Matt know your kind compliments, thanks for watching Jeff, we appreciate it!
I remember playing this game on my 48K ZX Spectrum before I even knew there was an arcade game. The fact that the car would "transform" into a boat was groundbreaking awesome at the time when even The Transformers weren't a thing yet. Later on when I landed my hands on the arcade version I remember getting destroyed in about 10 seconds and never tried it again. My loss 😏
Neal this might be the same exact cabinet you played back in the day, did you scratch your initials on it somewhere I can check ? :) See you on the next video!
My favorite arcade game. Remember playing the sit down version a lot. And the girls with the designer Jean's. With fancy stitching on the Rear pockets 😜
I remember that arcade.. it was fun, simple and it had a good beat. My father though, always just dropped me off in the arcade as he went to sit in the winchells donut shop. well it made me a video gamer.
This is probably one of my most played games when I was a child because it was right down the road from where I live at a ice cream shop that's still in business today. But never in a million years did I think when I was a kid that I would be watching a video of this game being played 30 some years later in the year 2018 on something called the internet, LOL. I wonder if the exact cabinet I played on is still alive and well or has been trashed a long time ago.
I like how you remembered "that one guy". There always seemed to be one at an arcade or grocery store, that couldn't loose. The little mom and pop grocery store by my house had Galaga and the old was guy probably in his 20 and delivered groceries to the store. He would play and get a dozen extra lives, but he would have to leave to make his other deliveries and would let us have his game on level 2 zillion. We wouldn't last one level and all the extra lives were wasted. Spy Hunter was neat but I was awful at it.
Yeah I remember when 'that guy" would leave and you'd take over, then like you said I'd end up losing every single life almost immediately as I hopelessly couldn't do crap like he was doing it, hahaha. Thanks for watching scott!
11:27 It's got a really good soundchip for the time, the wikipedia article says so, and watching it this time, you can hear it even in the engine for a 1983 game. What he meant was about the solo, the solo is unique every time. I collect music from games, and that's what the comments underneath one of the themes for this cabinet states also.
@@LyonsArcade There was a guy who called himself "Dragon" who was crazy good at the game. His name was on top of every game score for Spy Hunter in the area. I decided that I wanted to beat him, so I did.... After watching him play for hours. Once I got the wheel, he never got it back until I quit. I could finish the game with a glitch that would screw the game up until you powered it down LOL! My giant score wouldn't get recorded but I didn't care. It was more about just thrashing Dragon at the game.
@@LyonsArcade First time ever revealed on YT (I don't care any more). My birth date 09/21/57. Coincidence? See my channel. It may accelerate your awakening. Wish I had a vid showing how I used to play. Would make this look so lame.
When i was like 9 years old there was a Winko lanes bowling alley across broad st. I would hide a quarter under a rock by the side door and after school i would sneak across the street to play spy hunter lol sometimes i would get killed within 5 minutes lol
That's so funny, I like the secretive, almost spy like nature of your plan, LOL Good memories, I love the name Winko Lanes too that's hilarious. See you on the next video!
When I was a kid I rented the game for 4 days for my confirmation party, discovered the difficulty setting, most arcades had the difficulty set to 8 or higher. Setting it to 6 I got past the boat section.
I remember that there were two different cabinet versions of this game. The one in the video is the standalone version. There was another larger version that had a seat so you can sit down and play. It was made to simulate that you're driving the car on screen. Of all the times I've played this game, I never made it very far... at least not legitimately. I took advantage of the "offroad" glitch whenever possible. As for the glitch, I thought it was only on the Commodore 64 version. I was a bit surprised to see that the glitch was in the arcade version as well.
When I first sat in the sit-down version and that Peter Gunn theme started, that became my favorite arcade game, period. I sucked at it, but I loved it.
that is one gamy I always play sit down or with a stool. used to be pretty good at it. the sit down version was the first game I played paying 50 cents. always enjoyed having the speakers right there by your head with the sit down. never could enjoy it standing up though.

Yup, and Van halen! LOL Yeah we had a local pizza place with it's own arcade too, it was pretty awesome... Maybe kids think the same nowadays when they go to a family fun center????
Bobbie Hall
Mazzio’s in so jersey?
Mazzio's In Indiana?
There is a trick for the stand up version (like this one) that works on some, but not all, machines. You can detach the accelerator pedal and pull it toward you so it lays flat on the ground. That allows you to push the pedal a little farther than normal. You can drive off the left side of the screen and become invincible while over there while driving super fast. Pretty crazy.
That's pretty wild, I'd never heard of that! Thanks for the info.....
So - this doesn't work on the sit-down version? I regularly play the sit-down at the bar I DJ at: Blipsy Bar in L.A./Koreatown.
That was great! I used to be so enamored by that game in the arcades back in the day....
Thank you for watching! it's definitely something special....
Excellent. I remember the sit-in cabinet version of Spyhunter too. Great times.
I'd love to have one of those but I've never had one in!
Played this a lot in the arcades, in my late teens. Tons of quarters. Nice to see it again!
This may be one of the cabinets you actually played on :)
Loved this game back in 83-84. The Colecovision had a really good port for this game also!
I never played that one, I’ll have to check it out!

One of arcade's best ever games and very well played today. You did a great job of restoring the cabinet.
Thanks Bren, we appreciate you watching!
Brings back awesome memories.
it's all in the sound, man!
@@LyonsArcade It's all in the game play! What a flashback ;)
Very cool. Nice to see some pro moves in these old games :p
I knew if I played it it would be BORRRRINNNNG , so glad we got Matt in to do it.
Fantastic! Great cabinet restoration and great gameplay by your friend. Thank you for doing these videos.
You just relived my childhood. Those sounds are spot on exactly what I remember they used to be. Especially the bullet proof cars.
It's a great game Paul!
One of my favorite arcade games back in the day...if I ever came across one at an arcade or a bowling alley I never passed it by
It was a real gaming experience :)
It was a real gaming experience :)
Glad I found this video! I was looking something up and briefly needed to reference Spy Hunter. Looks like this had pretty much everything I needed to know, thanks :)
Thanks for watching Russell!
Thanks for watching virtualyme!-
My favorite arcade game ever! I'm on par with this fellow. Great video! Thank you.
Thanks for watching, Mark! See you on the next video.
2:09 Got legit hype when it suddenly kicked in 😁
Aaaaaaaand now that song is stuck in my head for the next few weeks. Absolutely one of the best arcade games of all time.
I spent way to much money on this game when I was a kid, the music brings back good memories.
They designed the music perfect had that nice wet and squeaky sound.
I’ve play that game so many times I could have bought it three times over! 😂
You put the operators kids through college!
TyeMan Stop exaggerating you fucking jit.
This guy is Amazing @ SPY HUNTER! UNREAL! This was great...truly enjoyed
Thank you Micah, glad you enjoyed it!
If you got to 18,000 points before the initial timer runs out you get two cars instead of one
you have infinite lives until that timer runs out.
after a while the civilian cars stop spawning completely. making it easier to play.
Thanks for the tips, Michael!
I have such a strange, fever dream like memory of this game and cabinet as a kid. I was born in '93 so long after the release but it lingers in my mind. Cheers for uploading the video mate.
Thank you for watching!!!
On one perfect day, after many, many quarters I made it to the boat AND the ice. Never played that game as well again and it became depressing. Moved on to other arcade games, but that special Spy Hunter game will always be the unicorn I saw just once in my life.
Man you did better than me :) Matt must have spent a fortune to get decent at it...
Thanks Twig Son, your old man is finally going viral on youtube, they're recommending all my crap to everybody even if it's years old :)
Kudos for nailing the refresh rate and avoiding the dark bar on the screen
I don't have any adjustments on my camera for that, the MCR games from Bally used a slightly different refresh rate so I guess it just matches the camera a little better!
Man this game brings back memories! That’s a very good quality arcade very nice. I remember walking into the galleria mall arcade in the 80s and you would always hear those familiar Spy Hunter sounds.
The local mall here was called The Galleria mall too !
Great game the music is awesome... I remember my dad giving me quarters when my parents were shopping. RIP pop.
"Ain't it funny how a melody, can bring back a memory" That's good you have good memories of it man, great game too!
Rock on Matt. I played this game as a kid, never lived long enough to see the boat or ice...lol. Great video.
I'll tell him you're living vicariously through him, he'll be happy :) Thanks for watching man, see you on the next video!
One of my Favorite Games Growing up still like to this day. Also the theme is awesome. This Game came out when I was 7.
Yeah it's something special. The game has a completely unique design and sound.
Nearly forty years old and still looks good man I miss my childhood
The good part is you get to keep the memories! We can't go back but you carry it with you for the rest of your life, it was a special time.
Such an awesome game! There is also a kind of knock off by sega called “Action Fighter” where you can turn into a motorcycle, helicopter and other vehicles, also pretty great. This is why you have to play these classics on actual hardware, mame just doesn’t capture the feel of it! Great video!
Yeah, especially one like this with the crazy controls and lights on the bezel that indicate what's up!
Is Road Fighter also considered a knock off off this game?
Man I remember when I was a kid in the 80's and we'd be on the road on a family vacation and some of the restaurants we'd stop at had arcade machines. My dad would only ever give me a few quarters, but I remember playing this game here and there. It was a tough one! Nice video!
Good memories, I used to play them at a department store when I was a kid, they only had a couple... I played one at a grocery store too, they used to be all over the place!
I played the hell out of this at Showbiz Pizza in '83. ;-) The Nintendo version was great, too.
Playing it at Showbiz, was like the arcade Olympics or something, doesn't get any better than that :)
Same here Showbiz ruled! Also played on my friends commodore 64 alot
Love this game..played it many times back in the day.
It's been our most talked about video! Lots of people must have great memories of it.
Always fun to watch a boss crack the code of one of these arcade games. Fine work. I see the throttle is the key to the game.
I think he played the crap out of it when he was a kid, lol
@@LyonsArcade and a huge thanks to you for bringing these artifacts back to life. Tons of entertainment watching the troubleshooting and repairs.
My loss 😏
It probably saved you a ton of money, though!
Loved that game! It was in the arcade at a bowling alley my buddies and I used to frequent.
Neal this might be the same exact cabinet you played back in the day, did you scratch your initials on it somewhere I can check ? :) See you on the next video!
Joe's Classic Video Games if it was in Hope Arkansas that was it!!
what a great player. i used to get to 2nd boat level always
watched the entire 30 mins. i was back at a 7-11 store, the way everyone would watch the games with quarters lined up on top
Thanks for watching LastHumansGarage we appreciate it! Those were the days!
I always wanted to install the Spy Hunter steering wheel into a car like the movie Heavy Metal, the Taxi Driver had in his cab
That would be pretty cool :)
And a backseat incinerator button ;)
I loved that game as a kid. Thank god for RetroPi!
It's a classic :)
My favorite arcade game. Remember playing the sit down version a lot. And the girls with the designer Jean's. With fancy stitching on the Rear pockets 😜
JORDACHE!
It screems 80s from every nook and cranny!❤️
It sure does! Even the colors and things.
Best Spyhunter playing I've ever seen.
Thank you, I'll let Matt know you enjoyed it!
I remember that arcade.. it was fun, simple and it had a good beat. My father though, always just dropped me off in the arcade as he went to sit in the winchells donut shop. well it made me a video gamer.
Good memories Trixie Kat, he should have came in and played a few games with you :) See you on the next video, we appreciate you watching.
I used to play this in the arcades ,we loved it
It was definitely something special!
Classic! The speed boat is fun!
Loved this game, used to play it at the student union at San Jose State back in the 80's.....
It's pretty awesome! Very tough though....
This is probably one of my most played games when I was a child because it was right down the road from where I live at a ice cream shop that's still in business today. But never in a million years did I think when I was a kid that I would be watching a video of this game being played 30 some years later in the year 2018 on something called the internet, LOL. I wonder if the exact cabinet I played on is still alive and well or has been trashed a long time ago.
it might be THIS one, you never know!
Thank you for sharing this. I've always loved the original Spy Hunter game, but never got to the boat.
Thanks for watching David, we appreciate you stopping by :)
Amazing restoration!
Thanks, we appreciate it!
Arcade1up needs to bring this back in 3/4 scale! One of the best games ever!
I was obsessed with this on the Gamecube. Midway Arcade Treasures. A treasure indeed.
Loved that game in the day.
It was something special, that's for sure!
Thanks for the video I spent hours at local arcade on this game back in the 80s
Thanks for watching Ninjak, glad you enjoyed it!
Maaaaaaan I spent a king's ransom on this game when I was a kid :)
It was something else :)
THIS WAS MY GAME!!!!
COMPLETELY MASTERED IT!!!
Could consistently glitch it 5 ways.
Could play as long as I wanted.
Very cool man, it's a fun game :) You must have spent a fortune to get that good at it!
@@LyonsArcade
There was a guy who called himself "Dragon" who was crazy good at the game.
This was one of my favourite arcade games from back in the day.
It was such a cool game :)
Ace game, iconic. A masterpiece.
Yeah you can tell they took their time designing it.
Man I've never seen *Spy Hunter* played that awesome Good Job Matt!
I can appreciate the time it took this guy to be considered a pro.
Think of the quarters!
Couldn't your mommy afford pants with pockets on them or what?
@@paulsolfelt8452 i left all my pants with pockets at your mothers house son.😊
When I was a kid I rented the game for 4 days for my confirmation party, discovered the difficulty setting, most arcades had the difficulty set to 8 or higher. Setting it to 6 I got past the boat section.
I didn't check it out on this one, I should have put it real high so Matt wouldn't know what to do :)
I'd like to get one of those sitdown ones in, that would be really cool! Thanks for watching GrnArrow, see you on the next video!
When I first sat in the sit-down version and that Peter Gunn theme started, that became my favorite arcade game, period. I sucked at it, but I loved it.
@@LyonsArcade I would love to build a sit down version. My favorite game growing up!!
And the sit down version had a speaker behind each ear
Takes me back to being a child in the arcade... thanks for the nostalgia
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it 7upac!
Loved this game , If I recall there was a sit down version of this one too.
There was, a really nice cockpit version, you don't see it too often though!
Awesome, one of my favorite games in the arcade back in the day wasn't around for very long.
He's amazing! I never even got to the boat stage..
One of my top ten favourites .... Wish I could play anywhere near as good as this!
🕵️♂️🚗
Thanks for watching David, we appreciate it!
that is one gamy I always play sit down or with a stool. used to be pretty good at it. the sit down version was the first game I played paying 50 cents. always enjoyed having the speakers right there by your head with the sit down.
never could enjoy it standing up though.
The trailer park across the lake from my house when I was a kid had this bad boy, I wasn't good at it but I really liked playing it.
They had arcade games at a Trailer Park???? Just when I thought trailer parks couldn't get any cooler :)
@@LyonsArcade That's the only one I remember they had in a very large room. Thinking back, that seems really strange now.
I would always play this at my local movie theater back in late 80s and 90s while my parents were getting the snacks!
So cool man, funny how memories hang on so long like that!
Cannot get that back.
