Bomb Jack is a favorite. My Sony TV is my arcade machine these days and I enjoy Speed Spin, Space Invaders, and Pac-man. I have about 85 games and all the wrestling games were made really well. I managed to download KOF 98 The Slugfest for Android which is a great game.
"Centipede" and "Tempest" came out in 1981. This is important because a lot of people think 1980 from the game copyright date, but they were actually released later.
I managed to play these games with OpenEmu on Mac, mame 0.251 merged romset (could not find non-merged unfortunately), and looking up game and dependency names and in arcade database. Enjoying them so far! Thanks for this compilation!
Awesome compilation! So far, I have three different MAME collections: • On my new Android phone, I got 980+ Japanese & Korean arcade classics (Double Dragon, Marvel vs. Capcom, Metal Slug, Puzzle Bobble, Samurai Spirits, Street Fighter, The King of Fighters, etc.) • On my Android Tablet, I got all the overseas games from mostly the US and some others from European, Australian, and Hispanic nations (720°, Battletoads Arcade, Gauntlet, Golden Tee, Mortal Kombat, NBA Jam, Smash TV, etc) • On my old Android phone, I got 555+ Golden Age arcade classics below the year 1985 (Space Invaders, Galaxian, Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, Dig Dug, Karate Dou, Punch-Out!!, etc.)
thanks for this video...i started playing mame arcade in 86' i almost forgot all the title of the games i played and loved like chopper, knights of the round, slap fight, heavy unit,etc...but this video i see them all ans started download MAME emu and playing them again...
yes the early til mid 80s were the golden years of arcade gaming, the machines were so restricted that good titles tried to differentiate themselves by being really creative and trying new concepts and control schemes, that took a nosedive ca 86 when everything consolidated around 3-4 genres and mostly standardized inputs (with sega being one rare exception with their racing titles), and games often were just rehashes of older games with bigger sprites and different attack patterns. Sure you had the occasional creative gem in between, but mostly it was about making as much cash as cheaply as possible which meant taking the same core game with different graphics and smaller adaptions and send it off to the arcades again. That changed again when 3d started to take off and developers again had more creative freedom to try out new things. You can clearly see that in the video. I would consider the late 2d era with games like Street Fighter TNT etc... as trash era of the arcades because all the freshness and creativity of the early era by then was gone. (you might see it differently because you probably grew up with those games)
You really can see how the creativity and experimentation goes down the gutters around 1986/87 and how formulaic most games were from then on until 3d gave the developers new tools.
Bro in 1980 to 1990 the games had big dereference aspect to gameplay graphics also too much entertaining but today all is about.. wow look at the graphics 😀✌️
@@gamebermuda yeah we have a generation of “mine is better than yours” spending mum and dads money to say they have the best GPU but most the games lack playability, I’d sooner play games from the 80s and 90s in most instances, of course there are some great new games, just not many.
Today's games had great titles a few of them GTA, need for speed, and few more online games, cso go, Forza but they're just few, but if v look back I loved many games I can't count them in comment obviously 😅 I remember I go to play arcade games like street fight 2 Tekken 3 and kof 98 and further more games like Cadillac and dinosaurs by spending money on buying coins for 1 coin per rupee.. broo gud times that was..
Up until then the standard arcade motherboard was a 24-bit processor. Bigger than 8 or 16 bit home systems for financial purposes of arcade versions always being superior to home consoles. Not sure what it went to after that but ya huge leap
There were a lot of games that I’ve never heard of. Are you familiar with the arcade game Shark Attack? I played it recently for the first time on MAME. Very underrated game
I am looking for a puzzle game where a bear(or something like that) was trying to put fruits and a diamond in holes located in the stage, if it pulled a skull in the hole, it lost. Early 90's if I am not wrong
started good, i was watching till 1985...one of my top games not only in arcades, but top of all time is pac-land 1984, and it's not here so that's disappointing...
Hey everyone, un looking for a race game which is not present here ?! Looks a lot like street racers on Snes but arcade game. Anyone?? If anybody has other video links like this one, please inbox me.
That Super Eagle shader ruins the original pixel art and makes them all look like 90s Adobe Flash web games. Any of the CRT shaders would have done them better justice.
Late 70s and early 80s arcade games have such a timeless feel.

Excellent video !! Seems each games gameplay was going faster than normal !
yes it was
You really can see how the creativity and experimentation goes down the gutters around 1986/87 and how formulaic most games were from then on until 3d gave the developers new tools.
Absolutely
It didn’t take more than a couple of years before 3D games suffered the same fate.
Gameplay for each game was at super speed !! Big mistake !!!
I feel the early games had more variety in regards to game play, later games seemed to be more variations of a common theme. Bit like today really.

Obviously, in 93, something happened in technology.

Very bad selection and worse ratings
I’m curious to know why you would say this.
when you reduce speed to 0.5x the sound is messed up, this idea was TERRIBLE, you got my downvote
In normal speed also available in parts
these video do nothing more than make you more confused. pick an era. pick a genre and start from there and youtube those.
